Abstract

This research aims to identify the learning methods employed during the COVID-19 pandemic for first-grade students in SD/MI schools in Palangka Raya City. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from school principals and first-grade teachers at four different SD/MI schools. The study employed Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, incorporating triangulation for data validation. The findings reveal four distinct learning methods implemented during the pandemic: online learning, limited face-to-face learning (PTMT), health protocol-compliant face-to-face learning, and complete offline face-to-face learning. Online learning was primarily used when strict social distancing measures were in place. PTMT was adopted to combine online and limited in-person sessions, ensuring minimal physical interaction. Health protocol-compliant face-to-face learning involved strict adherence to health guidelines during in-person classes. In contrast, complete health protocol offline face-to-face learning resumed normal classroom activities when permitted. The research concludes that these methods varied in effectiveness and adaptation based on the schools' resources and students' needs. This study highlights the diverse approaches schools took to maintain educational continuity, showcasing the flexibility and resilience of the education system in Palangka Raya City during the pandemic.

Abstract

Total Quality Management (TQM) has become an i mportant approach to improving organizational performance through continuous improvement efforts. However, various studies show that its implementation often fails due to structural and cultural constraints within the organization. This makes a critical review of the causes of failure and success factors of TQM important to conduct as a basis for developing sustainable quality practices. This literature review article aims to analyze the factors causing the failure of TQM implementation and map related research trends, by answering two research questions: (1) What factors influence the success or failure of TQM implementation according to previous research? (2) What research gaps remain unanswered in TQM studies? The method used is a systematic literature review by searching articles through Google Scholar and DOAJ using the keywords TQM, TQM, quality implementation, and organizational quality. Of the 18 initial articles, 6 relevant articles were analyzed thematically. The review results indicate three main themes: the importance of leadership in quality management, the challenges of organizational culture to the success of TQM, and the impact of TQM implementation on organizational performance. Previous studies have been limited to descriptive studies and the context of education and public services. Therefore, future research needs to develop context-based MMT implementation models, strengthen empirical approaches, and integrate modern management innovations.

Abstract

The Gendol River, originating from the slopes of Mount Merapi, is one of the main freshwater sources in Yogyakarta and is increasingly affected by anthropogenic activities that may alter its water quality. This study aimed to assess the water quality of the Gendol River using an integrated analysis of physical, chemical, and biological parameters, with plankton and macrozoobenthos communities serving as bioindicators. Sampling was conducted at three stations representing upstream, midstream, and downstream sections using standard limnological methods. Physical and chemical parameters included temperature, turbidity, pH, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, and salinity, while biological parameters focused on the identification of plankton and macrozoobenthos. The results indicated a longitudinal decline in water quality from upstream to downstream, characterized by increasing organic load, reduced water clarity, and decreasing biological diversity. Changes in plankton composition and the dominance of tolerant macrozoobenthos taxa reflected varying levels of environmental disturbance along the river. These findings confirm that plankton and macrozoobenthos are effective bioindicators for evaluating ecological conditions in tropical freshwater systems and highlight the need for improved river management strategies, particularly in controlling anthropogenic pressures to maintain the ecological sustainability of the Gendol River.

Abstract

This study is based on different interpretations of the concept of Rūḥ al-Qudus in classical and medieval exegesis. The aim of this study is to examine how this concept is presented in Tafsīr al-Ṭabarī and Tafsīr al-Rāzī and how Julia Kristeva's theory of intertextuality can illustrate the semantic relationships between the two. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach and an intertextual analysis of Jāmi‘ al-Bayān and al-Tafsīr al-Kabīr, this study concludes that al-Ṭabarī understands Rūḥ al-Qudus theocentrically and literally as the angel Jibrīl, i.e. as a divine mediator who acts as an enabler and bringer of revelations, based on the consensus of the traditions of the Companions and Tabi‘in. In contrast, al-Rāzī reinterprets this concept in a rational-philosophical manner, namely as quwwah rabbāniyyah, i.e. as a divine power that animates the spiritual consciousness ofhuman beings and enlivens their intellectual and moralcapacities. An intertextual analysis shows that al-Rāzī not onlyadopts al-Ṭabarī's view, but also undertakes a transformation ofmeaning through theological elaboration and metaphysicalspeculation, which expands the ontological position of Rūḥ al-Qudus in the discourse of revelation. This study contributes tointroducing the application of Kristeva's intertextuality model inexegesis and explaining the process of reconfiguring the meaningof Rūḥ al-Qudus in the intellectual dialogue between the classicaland medieval periods
