Abstract

This study aimed to explore the problems in learning interactive art and culture at Junior High School level which was categorized as the millennial generation. The focus of this study laid in the interdisciplinary aspect of social media in multimodality of learning arts and culture. In order to reveal the opportunities and challenges of the use of social media in its development as a medium in interactive art and culture learning, as well as the students’ responses about it. This study used qualitative-analytic method. Data were obtained from observation conducted from January to June 2020 at junior high schools in Surabaya, East Java. The results showed that the learning involvement experienced by students had complexity and multimodality, including collaborative work, observing, and evaluating each other's work, and involvement in finding, identifying, and exploring trends related to delivery in social media as a medium for art and culture learning. This implied that this learning involvement was able to motivate students to be more actively involved in learning with a sense of joy; positioning artwork with others on social media; increasing the contextual and conceptual understanding in the learning materials and applying it as a process of actualizing aesthetic skills; and improving critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This paper was a theoretical exploration of proxemic discourse and the experience of cafe space as a transitional educational space. It was based on the development of a paradigm in the 21st century that has targeted the cafe sector and provided the potential to be converted into an alternative educational space, especially for the millennial generation, called students. This study theoretically explored based on the phenomena seen at Yoman Cafe in Surabaya, Indonesia, which often became an alternative learning place for students at Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The research was conducted through participatory observations during March 2021, and it was analyzed by carrying out theoretical exploration of proxemics, spatial experiences, and alternative spaces. The results showed that the cafe currently had a dual role which was known as hybrid. Apart from being a cafe with the traditional definition of being a place to eat, the current cafe also had a role as an alternative space. This was based on the achievement of several aspects to create a sense of comfort as a transitional educational space, namely table settings that provided private space for visitors, comfortable and comprehensive furniture, selection of materials, ambiance entertainment, lighting and acoustics, colors, and use of aesthetic elements.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan hak yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap warga negara Indonesia. Pendidikan formal yang ada di sekolah telah menjadi suatu hal umum di masyarakat, akan tetapi tidak semua kalangan masyarakat dapat memperolehnya. Salah satunya di kampung Kaliasin Surabaya dimana kampung yang berada di tengah kota Surabaya ini memiliki image akan kriminalitas. Hal ini menjadi keresahan bagi warga kampung Kaliasin dimana mereka merasakan dampak diskriminasi dari luar wilayah kampung. Hal ini mengakibatkan pengaruh kesenjangan sosial dalam keidupan sehari-hari. Untuk mentransformasikan social disana maka terbentuknya sanggar Teras Warna sebagai wadah apresiasi bagi anak-anak kampung Kaliasin Surabaya. Anak-anak di kampung Kaliasin Surabaya mayoritas merupakan anak-anak yang kurang beruntung dalam memperoleh pendidikan formal di sekolah. Tujuan terbentuknya sanggar agar anak-anak generasi penerus di kampung Kaliasin memiliki bekal secara education maupun kemampuan skill dalam rangka menghadapi tantangan di masa depan. Sanggar Teras Warna menjadi suplemen bagi anak-anak kampung Kaliasin. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) menjelaskan bagimana proses pembelajaran seni musik di sanggar Teras warna, (2) menjelaskan kendala yang dihadapi dalam proses pembelajaran seni musik di sanggar Teras warna. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus dimana peneliti merupakan partisipan yang terlibat di dalamnya. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari hasil observasi dari beberapa narasumber selanjutnya di analiais kemudian di interpretasikan dalam bentuk deskripsi.

Abstract

Fenomena krisisnya nilai karakter dan penurunan moral yang terjadi di kehidupan bangsa dan sekolah sebagai bentuk pengaruh dari globalisasi membutuhkan analisis materi kearifan lokal dengan merekontruksi nilai karakter yang terkandung didalamnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis struktur penyajian dan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam pertunjukan wayang topeng Malang lakon Lahire Panji Laras untuk direkonstruksi dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini berbasis kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan pertunjukan wayang topeng lakon Lahire Panji Laras terdiri dari babak keputren dan babak lolaras. Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung adalah kesatria, pemberani, tangguh, jujur, mandiri, kerja keras, kebaikan, keikhlasan, dan tanggung jawab. Nilai-nilai tersebut direkontruksi dan diintegrasikan ke dalam pembelajaran melalui komponen-komponen pembelajaran, sehingga pendidikan karakter dapat ditanamkan sesuai dengan hakikat pendidikan anak usia dini. Lakon Lahire Panji Laras dalam pertunjukan wayang topeng Malang mengandung nilai-nilai karakter positif yang dapat menjadi bahan pembelajaran pendidikan karakter bagi anak untuk diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Visual signs that are displayed often appear in mural works in Surabaya as a means of communication and expression of the artist. The mural is significant with the reality of the time when the mural was made and the subsequent time span becomes important in seeing the significance of the mural on the image of Surabaya's public space. This study aims to examine murals as a medium of education through art in society, find out various public murals in Surabaya with consideration of the cultural semiotics of the surrounding community and describe the effects that arise related to education in the community through mural media with a cultural semiotic perspective. So it can be seen that the problems studied are qualitative in nature. The locations used during the research were limited to around South Surabaya, with the mural specifications intact. What is meant by intact is that the paint in the mural is still visible to the naked eye, the forms that make up the visual elements and the text still have clear legibility to the general public. This study shows The result of the research is that murals in Surabaya tend to display a narrative image style initiated by the government/institution with an educational message that appears in the visual signs, while the expressive image style is initiated by the mural artist/community, but the visual signs that appear are more critical and expressive. The mural structure has a fairly high legibility both in terms of visual and text. The existence of the mural is perceived as a spectator reaching individuals, but the understanding of each individual is the result of the relation between visual perception and the concept adopted. The process of community education can only reach individuals but cannot yet become a collective awareness that is able to move people to change their behaviour. The signs encountered are studied through the visual semiotic approach of Saussure and Yasraf with a socio-cultural approach in the people of Surabaya. The benefits of this research are to add to studies related to contemporary art and visual communication design, especially street art with a focus on murals, to identify mural forms in Surabaya, to become a reference material for similar research and to add the perspectives of other researchers regarding the study of cultural semiotics and to provide insights another for the learning process outside the formal environment, especially education in the community, through the mural media approach. Abstract

Anxiety disorders often appear in adolescents aged 10-24 years. When adolescents experience anxiety disorders the accompanying emotional reactions are body tension, fear, distress, and anxiety in response to certain situations that are perceived as threatening. Anxiety in adolescents can be measured by the Hamilton Rating Scale For Anxiety (HRS-A), and the Child Anxiety subscale of the Revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS), as well as graphical tests, such as Draw A Person (DAP), Draw a Tree (BAUM), and House Tree Person (HTP), which are performed by the adolescent (subject). The purpose of this study is to address adolescents with anxiety disorders. This study uses qualitative methods to describe anxiety disorders in adolescents and quantitative methods to see the effect of art therapy as a creative education media in overcoming anxiety disorders in adolescents. The subjects in this study were 5 adolescents with anxiety disorders of which 2 subjects were given art therapy. The sampling technique used purposive sampling method. The results of this study, art therapy has been shown to be able to reduce anxiety in adolescents with anxiety disorders. From the results of the above research, it can be concluded that art therapy will produce positive developments at different levels.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji dan menganalisis dampak perubahan besar yang terjadi pada Komodifikasi Topeng Cirebon, Komodifikasi merupakan proses yang tidak hanya berhubungan dengan bagaimana produksi menjadi produk massa, tetapi juga berhubungan bagaimana produk tersebut dapat didistribusikan ke pasar untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen. komodifikasi merupakan respon terhadap perubahan struktur sosial pada masyarakat Cirebon dan global. Spirit politis pemerintah dalam industri kreatif, telah membawa perubahan bagi pengrajin dalam mengentaskan kemiskinan, mengurangi pengangguran. Lokasi penelitian utama dilakukan di Desa Selangit, Kecamatan Klangenan, Kabupaten Cirebon. Lokasi sekunder dilakukan di beberapa daerah komunitas pengrajin topeng yang ada di Kota dan Kabupaten Cirebon, termasuk daerah istana pada kelompok distinction. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis Praktek Sosial Bourdieu pada Komodifikasi Topeng Cirebon. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif, dengan pendekatan analisis. Praktek Komodifikasi telah membuka mata pengrajin, bahwa kreativitas dalam realitas adalah dinamika, lenturnya topeng Cirebon sebagai sistem pewarisan budaya tradisi, dimaknai sebagai edukasi kepada masyarakat pengrajin topeng. Komodifikasi telah membawa Topeng Cirebon ada dalam persimpangan. Satu sisi pemerintah menjadikan topeng sebagai sistem pewarisan budaya yang harus dijaga dan dilestarikan keotentikanya, sisi lain, topeng merupakan aset produk budaya yang dapat mendatangkan devisa. Sedangkan perdebatan klasik pada publik topeng masih pada ranah perdebatan antara kelompok yang ingin mempertahankan estetika tinggi, penuh nilai dan makna, sisi lain menginginkan perubahan. sebuahparadok, rumit, kontradiktif dan kompleks, tetapi kondisi ini secara tidak langsung dapat mempertegas eksistensi dan kedaulatan topeng terapresiasi dengan sendirinya.

Abstract

Membuat komposisi musik merupakan pengerjaan yang membutuhkan berbagai unsur, antara lain ide, kemudian ditindak lanjuti ke tahap eksplorasi atau penyusunan tonalitas, dan dikembangakan ke format komposisi, pemilihan instrument melalui orkestrasi, aransemen yang didalamnya ada aturan-aturan tentang progresi akor. Hal tersebut dibutuhkan pemikiran yang focus, namun demikian ada hal yang kadang- kadang masih ada yang terlewatkan. Penelitian ini akan membahas tentang unsur-unsur nuansa musik etnik dalam berkomposisi musik, dengan harapan sebagai bentuk penguatan global, tanpa menghilangkan budaya kearifan lokal yang sudah ada.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the role of dongkrek traditional art in village clean rituals. Research using descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection tools are interviews, observation, and documentation. The process of data analysis by reducing, presenting, and concluding data. The results of the study show that (a) the traditional art of Dongkrek maintains the authenticity of the traditional Dongkrek art; (b) The procedure for performing the Dongkrek traditional art is divided into three stages, namely the pre-event stage, the main event stage and the closing stage; (c) The moral values ​​contained in the traditional arts of Dongkrek include the value of togetherness/mutual cooperation, the value of beauty, the value of truth, the value of kindness, the value of responsibility, the value of obedience, the value of bad or evil, the value of honesty, the value of trust; (d) The community of Mejayan Village is very supportive because the function of the traditional Dongkrek art is considered to be very potential as a spectacle and guide for the community.

Abstract

The dhadhak merak is an iconic mask in Reyog Ponorogo. Over a very long period of time, the dhadhak merak has visually evolved into the form that is often seen today. The visual phenomenon then forms an image of Ponoragan visual culture that is interesting to explore in greater depth. This is what attracts the author's attention to focus on reviewing: 1) The phenomenon of visual development of dhadhak merak over time and 2) Reading Ponoragan visual culture in dhadhak merak. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, with data collection techniques using literature studies and archival documentation. In the process of reading the visual culture of dhadhak merak, the author conducted a review from several aspects, namely: visual structure, function, value, and meaning. The results of this study are 1) The dhadhak merak has undergone seven phases of development starting from its simple dhadhak to the form that is commonly found today. 2) The visual structure, function, historical value, and meaning of the dhadhak merak are constructed on the culture of the people of Ponorogo itself starting from the era of animism-dynamism, Hindu-Buddhism, Islam, to the present era. From that, the Ponoragan culture as a very strong identity marker can be reflected in the dhadhak merak visual culture artifact.
