Abstract

The homegarden is a place or land around the yard of the house with clear boundaries, planted with one or various types of plants and still has an emotional relationship with the owner or is functional with the house in question. This study aimed to determined the factors of using homegarden in an effort to meet family nutrition in Tambakrejo Village, Jombang Regency. This type of research is analytic and the research design is cross sectional. The sample in the study was 96 respondents. The results of the study obtained that there was no relationship between education and the use of homegarden in an effort to meet family nutrition in Tambakrejo Village, Jombang Regency with a significance value = 0.285%. There is a relationship between knowledge and the use of homegarden in an effort to increase family nutrition in Tambakrejo Village, Jombang Regency with a significance value = 0.000%. There is a relationship between the number of family members and the use of homegarden in an effort to increase family nutrition in Tambakrejo Village, Jombang Regency, the significance value = 0.000%. There is a relationship between income and the use of homegarden in an effort to increase family nutrition in Tambakrejo Village, Jombang Regency with a significance value = 0.011%. There is a relationship between behavior and the use of homegarden in an effort to increase family nutrition in Tambakrejo Village, Jombang Regency, the significance value = 0.000%. There is a relationship between attitude and the use of homegarden in an effort to increase family nutrition in Tambakrejo Village, Jombang Regency, the significance value = 0.000%. Abstract

Food production has decreased every year, due to the conversion of agricultural land and population growth that continues to increase. Therefore, the yard is one solution to maintain food availability and even food diversification in the family. This study aimed to measure the level of public perception of the use of homegarden in supporting food diversification in Tambakrejo Village, Jombang District, Jombang Regency. This type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive statistical analysis. The sample in this study amounted to 100 respondents with a questionnaire in the form of a Likert scale. The results obtained in this study indicate that the community perception of Tambakrejo Village towards the processing of homegarden is in the low category, the community perception of Tambakrejo Village on the benefits of homegarden utilization in the low category, the community perception of Tambakrejo Village on food diversification is in the medium category, and the community perception of Tambakrejo Village on the sustainability of homegargen processing is categorized high.

Abstract

The development of residential areas in the Jombang Regency can increase global warming, so it needs urban greening in the area. The green environment can be done by developing an environmentally friendly urban agricultural system with 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) waste management. The skills of residents must support the utilization of domestic waste, so this is required adequate training activities. This training aimed to (1) increased the knowledge and skills of the residents in processed, domestic waste into compost and liquid organic fertilizer; (2) increased the knowledge and skills of residents in processed inorganic waste as a plant's pot; and (3) increased the spirit of citizens to live clean and healthy. This community service activity was carried out from 24 to July 26, 2020, with partner residents of the Bahrul Ulum Menara Asri, Jombang Regency. The program results showed that 76 percent of residents understood how to processed waste into compost, liquid organic fertilizer, and planting pots. Eighty-six percent of participants stated that the instructor's performance was very good, 88 percent of residents admitted that this training was useful in improving their skills in processed, domestic waste, and 86 percent of the participants planned to carry out waste processing practices in their homes.

Abstract

The development of herbarium based on local wisdom as a learning media for the subject of plant structure and development, especially traditional food, is still very rare. This is very unfortunate because local wisdom contains pedagogical values that play an important role in improving the quality of learning. This study aims to determine the feasibility of the herbarium developed according to the validation results of the instructional media expert and herbarium expert. The development model used is ADDIE and the stages carried out in this research are up to the development stage. The results showed that the herbarium based on local wisdom developed was suitable as a learning media for the subject of plant structure and development, with an average score of the validation results of the two validators was 81,25. Both validators suggest using plant specimens that display complete organs, consisting of roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds in making herbariums.Keywords: Local wisdom, herbarium, learning media

Abstract

A field study aims to determine the diversity and potential utilization of weed vegetation that grows after rice planting. This research was carried out in paddy fields after monoculture rice planting in Penggaron Village, Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency in July - September 2020. Sampling was based on the quadratic sampling method with sample plots arranged randomly. In each plot the data taken is the name, number and canopy (area of ​​cover) of each plant species to determine density, dominance and frequency. Data analysis includes vegetation analysis to determine Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) and biodiversity analysis calculated using the Shannon - Wienner diversity index. The results of this study were 26 types of weed vegetation were found in post-rice planting land. The dominant vegetation types include Oryza sativa L .; Limnocharis flava (L.) Buchenav; Phyllanthus urinaria L .; Monochoria vaginalis (Burm.f.) pressl; and Cleome viscosa L with an SDR value of ≥ 5.30%. A total of 15 types of weeds have the potential to be used as a source of food, animal feed, and traditional medicine.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan santri dalam budidaya tanaman sayuran secara hidroponik. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada Oktober 2020 di PPP. Al-Lathifiyyah 1 Bahrul ‘Ulum Tambakberas Jombang Metode yang digunakan yaitu diskusi dan praktek. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui lembar kuisioner untuk mengetahui respon peserta terhadap kegiatan pelatihan. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan kegiatan pelatihan budidaya hidroponik memberikan dampak yang baik bagi santri PPP. Al-Lathifiyyah 1 Bahrul ‘Ulum Tambakberas Jombang. Kegiatan ini telah memberikan pengalaman langsung kepada para santri dalam bercocok tanam secara hidroponik sehingga santri memperoleh tambahan keterampilan (lifesklill) diluar dari bidang keagamaan yang diajarkan di pondok pesantren pada umumnya. Selain itu program ini juga mampu menghidupkan kembali sarana green house di PPP. Al-Lathifiyyah 1 Bahrul ‘Ulum Tambakberas Jombang yang selanjutnya dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu ikon unggulan bagi PPP. Al-Lathifiyyah 1 Bahrul ‘Ulum Tambakberas Jombang.

Abstract

The objectives of this service activity include replanting hydroponic plants in the yard of Banjarsari Village Hall through cleaning weeds around hydroponics, cleaning hydroponic equipment, hydroponic education. The approach method for implementing community service activities includes discussion and practice methods. The results of this service include; Replanting is carried out into hydroponic cultivation in the yard, hydroponic replanting can provide a view of plants at the Banjarsari village hall, Hydroponic cultivation education for teenagers can create positive activities that can be carried out in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to increased community participation, especially youth, in maintaining cleanliness and environmental health through the revitalization of village parks. This activity was carried out at the Village Hall Park Kayen BandarKedungmulyo, Jombang with a total of about 20 members of the village youth organization in October 2020. The approach method for the implementation of this service activity included methods of socialization, discussion, and practiced. In the socialization activity, participants were given a brief module on environmental hygiene reflecting faith. Evaluation of results of village clean-up activities and revitalization of village parks. showed that the participants were quite enthusiastic and feel the benefits of this activity. It is hoped that the community, especially members of the youth organization, will be more creative in managing the village park to become a place for environmental creation so that it will attract the young generation of Kayen Village to develop parks in other village areas, not only in the village office area.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk: memberikan pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan yang tak terpakai menjadi bermanfaat yang bernilai ekonomis; memberikan pengetahuan tentang penanaman, perawatan serta pengolahan produk dari hasil tanam dilahan pekarangan; memberikan edukasi tentang pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk organic sebagai nutrisi tambahan bagi tumbuhan; dan memberikan pengetahuan serta praktikum tentang pengolahan hasil tanam berupa sayuran menjadi produk pangan lestari yang menarik minat anak- anak untuk mengkonsumsi sayuran. Khalayak sasaran dalam program optimalisasi pekarangan pangan lestari adalah ibu-ibu kader PKK Desa Sentul Kecamatan Tembelang Kabupaten Jombang. Kegiatan ini berlangsung pada Bulan November 2021 bertempat di Balai Desa Sentul Kecamatan Tembelang Kabupaten Jombang. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah metode Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). Materi pelatihan yang diberikan pada mitra antara lain penanaman sayuran pada lahan sempit, pengolahan sayuran sebagai produk menyehatkan, serta pembuatan pupuk organik berbahan baku limbah organik rumah tangga. Evaluasi hasil kegiatan menunjukkan 90% peserta puas terhadap materi yang disajikan.

Abstract

Provision of nutritious food sources is one of the priorities in maintaining public health. Therefore, community service activities aimed to: (1) providing understanding to the community, especially PKK cadres, the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle by regulating the composition of food/drinks and food diversification and (2) providing knowledge for PKK cadres on how to make healthy food products made from corn. This community service activity was carried out in October - November 2021 with the target of PKK cadres in Sentul Village, Tembelang District, Jombang Regency. This activity was carried out using the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) approach, which utilizes village assets in the form of sweet corn as a healthy food product. The implementation of community service activities consisted of two stages, including observation and coordination with the Sentul Village PKK management and socialization of healthy food products in the form of juice and sweet corn ice cream. The results of the socialization of healthy food products based on processed sweet corn have an impact was (1) providing understanding to PKK cadres about healthy food diversification innovations based on local ingredients, and (2) providing knowledge to PKK cadres on how to make easy processed products in the form of juice. and sweet corn ice cream.
