Abstract

Jenny Saville is a female artist known for highlighting certain body parts in large sizes. The problem is how the visual expression of Jenny Saville s works attracts the attention of many observers of world art, even though her works are presented out of the box. The aim is to reveal the visualization of women from Jenny Saville s point of view using descriptive qualitative methods. His findings include a painting of a woman with a large figure and drawn using pencil, pastel, oil or charcoal with expressive brush strokes (expressive brush strokes with brilliant and contrasting colors). In conclusion, Janne Seville s work has a metaphorical content in conveying a message to appreciators, that her work seems to present a human body that is different from the standards of female beauty in general.

Abstract

The people of the Cireundeu-Cimahi traditional village are Sundanese indigenous people who have preserved traditions from generation to generation. Cireundeu is famous for its natural potential in the form of Sampeu which has not been fully exploited. The problem is, the government is trying to improve the skills of citizens. One of them is providing batik training by utilizing natural potential to become batik motifs. The goal is to improve skills so that economic conditions can also develop. The method used is the SL (Service Learning) method which involves students. Participants totaled 20 people. The results of this training participants can make batik motifs that were initiated from natural potential. The objects are dominated by shapes made of cassava leaves, which is interesting that almost all of his works are marked with his name written in Sundanese script. The visualized composition varies from asymmetrical and centered. The colors combined are also very interesting, such as a combination of color gradations from red to yellow, dark blue to light blue gradations

Abstract

Pandu Church Sunday School is located at Jalan Pandu No.4, Pamoyanan, Cicendo District, Bandung. This school has creativity programs that aim to improve children's character in working together or having empathy in solving a problem that is being faced. To develop this character requires various efforts related to creativity. The problems faced by partners require strategies for solving them, one of which is assistance in making pictures using the collage technique on drawstring bags that students can use every day. The aim is to improve the skills that are expected to be able to develop their character in the future. The method used is a mentoring method involving students. Participants totaled 27 people. As a result, participants can draw with mixed media, the chosen theme is family and the environment such as flora and fauna. The visualized composition varies from asymmetrical and centered. The colors combined are very interesting, many children choose flannel in primary colors such as red, yellow, blue, orange

Abstract

UMKM Aretha Utama (ARUMA) berdiri pada tahun 2020, berlokasi di Kecamatan Sukasari, Sukajadi-Bandung, dikelola oleh ibu-ibu yang memproduksi berbagai jenis makanan dan minuman. Produk makanan ini berupa batagor, keripik daun singkong, keripik kentang dan keripik singkong yang belum memperhatikan nilai gizi dan efeknya pada tubuh. Makanan tersebut menggunakan bahan-bahan campuran (food aditif) yang hanya mengutamakan cita rasa yang disukai konsumen. Permasalahan ini membuat tim pengabdi menawarkan solusi untuk membuat camilan berbahan dasar buah yang nilai kandungan gizinya tidak hilang dan menggunakan kemasan yang ramah lingkungan. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan pendampingan dalam membuat kemasan yang menarik untuk produk frutopia dari hasil produksi UMKM ARUMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode ABCD (Aset Based Community Development). Dari hasil pengabdian ini, para peserta dapat memproses hingga memproduksi produk buah-buahan dengan menggunakan metode liolifilisasi dan memahami pentingnya penggunaan kemasan yang menarik untuk produk UMKM yang mereka hasilkan.

Abstract

Jelekong has a productive community of artists who produce commercial and mass paintings. This creation aims to create novelty in Jelekong painting by borrowing Jacques Derrida s Deconstruction to present alternative meanings. The creation method used is Alma M. Hawkins creation method which includes the stages of 1) exploration, 2) improvisation, and 3) implementation. The results of the creation of this work are two works entitled "To Bloom" and "To Flow" which show aspects of deconstruction that occur in the creative process which can also be identified in the ideas and visual aspects of the work. Metallic visualization is used as a marker of the transformation resulting from efforts to deconstruct the traditional Jelekong painting.

Abstract

The puppet play Dewa Ruci contains many values, including spiritual values. This research aims to discuss the spiritual values of the play as expressed in a two-dimensional work. The works discussed in this research were created using Alma M. Hawkins creation method, which is carried out in three stages: exploration, improvisation, and formation. The works discussed are two two-dimensional artworks entitled “Mati Sajroning Urip” and “Ajeg”. The method of analysis used to discuss the sample works is Feldman s method of analysis, which consists of description, formal analysis, and interpretation. The result of this research shows the presence of dragon objects in the artworks taken from the story of Dewa Ruci, which represent humans with their duality: the nurturing side and the destructive side that are necessary to achieve true perfection. The use of red represents lust, white represents emptiness (suwung), and gold represents the peak of spiritual experience.

Abstract

The life skills of graduates of the Ranca Herang Islamic boarding school are important things that are considered by the management. This reason underlies that the students need to improve life skills for the future, besides that the material provided at Islamic boarding schools is focused on deepening the verses of the Al Quran. The method used is the questionnaire method and practice method dan demo method. Participants who took part in this training amounted to 29 students. This mentoring process can be said to be successful because more than 90% of the participants were able to answer questions after the mentoring properly, besides that it was proven by the works made by the participants who made good compositions, combining bright colors with soft colors. Participants are also supported by the ability to create textures on the canvas surface. So that the work looks more dynamic because the surface of the canvas looks like a relief. The importance of this ability for participants, because it can be used as a basis for developing this potential by opening new businesses that are expected to increase economic capacity in the future

Abstract

Advances in technology have made it impossible for everyone to avoid using gadgets. The devices used are varied, ranging from mobile phones, computers, laptops, etc. Social media applications used are various types and are very applicable. Device users are not only from workers, but children and adolescents are using it. Social media contains educational content, skills, hobbies, entertainment, and adult content. The problems are some children often choose adult shows and the time spent using the device often escapes parental supervision. The purpose of this program is to transfer knowledge regarding solutions in using devices using the service learning (SL) method. Device use in children and early adolescents needs to be regulated starting from the time of use, supervision, purpose, accessible content, and where to use the device. The results of community service are that the role of parents and family is very important in educating young children and adolescents in using gadgets wisely, children understand the limitations of using devices from the length of time they are used, places, and materials that can be seen.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan pendampingan guru-guru dalam membuat batik kreatif di atas kayu. Metode pengabdian ini adalah metode community based participatory research (CBPR). Peserta yang mengikuti pelatihan ini berjumlah 42 orang. Hasilnya para guru dapat menciptakan motif-motif berupa flora seperti motif bunga-bunga, fauna seperti motif burung, ataupun objek geometris yaitu susunan bidang-bidang segiempat, segitiga, lingkaran. Warna yang dipergunakan adalah warna kontras dan bergradasi dari warna tua ke arah warna muda. Warna yang dioleskan menjadi cemerlang karena menggunakan water glass yang berfungsi untuk mengikat warna dan memunculkan warna. Pengabdian ini berhasil melatih para guru dan meningkatkan kreativitas mereka dalam mengolah bidang kayu dengan cara membatik kreatif. Material ramah lingkungan ini dapat dipergunakan oleh para guru dengan nyaman, menyenangkan dan aman. Diharapkan dari pengabdian ini, para guru dapat mengajarkan kepada siswa mereka di kelasnya masing-masing.

Abstract

Indonesia is very rich in local wisdom, various types of plants can be processed into batik materials, one of which is tamarind tree which has not been widely known by many people. Tamarind seeds can be processed into a kind of cold wax, not hot wax. In the practice of traditional batik, this material is then used in community service activities with the aim of introducing how to make batik through batik workshop using cold wax easily and environmentally friendly. Participants in this workshop were foreign students and other people by using lectures method, batik demonstrations, and batik practices. To test the success of participants in batik knowledge and practice, the researcher used paired samples test. Based on the analysis, it can be said that there are differences in the knowledge of participants before and after community service activities. The aim of assistance was achieved because the transfer knowledge was successful, supported by the results of the trainer's questionnaire evaluation in terms of mastery of the material, clarity of material delivery, and appropriateness of time allocation.
