Abstract

This study analyzes natural resource management in Langkat Regency and its impact on the local economy. Using qualitative and quantitative approaches, this study evaluates the implementation of regulations, environmental impacts, distribution of economic benefits, and public perception of natural resource management. The results show that although the mining and plantation sectors contribute significantly to Regional Original Revenue (PAD), economic benefits are not evenly distributed, and many local communities experience a decline in welfare. Intensive exploitation of natural resources has led to significant environmental damage, such as deforestation and water pollution, disrupting the balance of local ecosystems. Weak regulatory implementation and lack of community participation in natural resource management exacerbate this situation. This research suggests improvements in supervision, increased community participation, adoption of environmentally friendly technologies, and policy revisions to achieve more sustainable and equitable management of natural resources. With these steps, it is hoped that Langkat Regency can improve the welfare of the local community more evenly and preserve the environment for future generations.

Abstract

This research examines the economic transformation of Medan City through the development of the creative industry sector, with a focus on the role of government management in supporting the growth of the sector. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews with stakeholders, document analysis, and field observations. The results of the study show that the creative industry in Medan has developed rapidly and made a significant contribution to the city's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP). The role of government management, especially through incentive policies, infrastructure development, and educational programs, has proven important in creating an ecosystem that supports innovation and collaboration. However, challenges such as limited access to funding and lack of qualified human resources are still obstacles to further development. The research also highlights the positive social and economic impacts of the sector, including job creation and the preservation of local culture. In conclusion, the development of creative industries in Medan City shows great potential to become a major pillar in the city's economic transformation, with important implications for development policies in other regions.

Abstract

This study has the aim to determine transformational leadership, work attitude and locus of control on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Peureulak, East Aceh Regency. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach. Data collection is done through library research and questionnaires. The sample in this study amounted to 52 teachers who served in SMP Negeri 1 Peureulak, East Aceh Regency. 1) Transformational leadership has a positive but not significant effect on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Peureulak, East Aceh Regency. The results of this study are evidenced by the value of the coefficient tcount > ttable, which is 0.085 > 1.675 at a significant 0.932 <0.05. This means that the research hypothesis H₀ is rejected and H1 is accepted. 2) Work attitude has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Peureulak, East Aceh Regency. The results of this study are evidenced by the value of the coefficient tcount < ttable, which is 19.468 < 1.675 at a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05. This means that the research hypothesis H₀ is rejected and H1 is accepted. 3) Locus of control has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Peureulak, East Aceh Regency. The results of this study are evidenced by the value of the coefficient tcount < ttable, which is 4.057 > 1.675 at a significant 0.000 > 0.05. It is concluded that the research hypothesis H0 is rejected and H3 is accepted. 4) Transformational leadership, work attitude and locus of control have a simultaneous effect on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Peureulak, East Aceh Regency. The results of this study were proven by the significant value 0.000 <0.05 and the Fcount > Ftable (1026,656 > 3,32). Thus the decision is obtained that H0 is rejected and H4 is accepted. In addition, the multiple linear regression model in this study is feasible to use because it has a positive value. The results of the linear regression test showed a unidirectional effect between the variables X1, X2, X3 on Y. The magnitude of the coefficient of determination (R Square) was R Square 0.984 or equal to 98.4%. This figure means that the variables of transformational leadership, work attitude, locus of control simultaneously (together) affect the teacher's performance variable by 98.4%. While the remaining 1.6% which is the result of 100% - 98.4% = 1.6% is influenced by other variables.

Abstract

Background: Background: Tax is one of the sources of state revenue. So far, tax is the main source of domestic revenue. This can be seen in the State Budget (APBN). The government has made various efforts to increase the tax ratio, for example by providing tax education, tax amnesty, and even taking legal action against taxpayers who do not pay taxes. One of the reasons the tax revenue ratio is still low is because taxpayers' awareness and mindset to pay taxes is still relatively low. For this reason, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic University of North Sumatra (UISU) held a Community Service (PkM) on early education of taxpayers to students of SMK Negeri 1 Teluk Mengkudu, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The purpose of this activity is to provide an understanding of the importance of tax as a source of state revenue, as well as to instill the importance of awareness of paying taxes. Method: Lectures and demonstrations delivered using Power point software. Results: Students' understanding of taxes was still low when the pretest was conducted before education and increased after the posttest after education. This is reinforced by the results of various tests where the average score of students' tax understanding tests before socialization was 3.12. Meanwhile, the average post-test score of students' tax understanding was 7.90. Conclusion: Community Service activities can improve the knowledge and understanding of students of SMK Negeri 1 Teluk Mengkudu about the importance of taxes and tax payments.

Since 150 questionnaires were sent, it is anticipated that at least 30 students will return the questionnaire. Partial Least Square (PLS) using Smart PLS 3.0 software, or a variance-based structural equation test, is the analysis technique employed.Finding: Consumer behavior was not partially influenced by lifestyle, self-concept, or peer group, according to the study's findings. There was no moderating effect of financial literacy on the relationship between lifestyle and consumer behavior. Self-concept's influence on consumer behavior was not moderated by financial literacy.
