Abstract

ABSTRACTFalls are the second leading cause of death in hospital after medication errors. The first step needed to reduce the incidence of falls is to carry out a risk assessment using a fall assessment tool. This study aims to identify the implementation of a fall risk assessment at the . This research was conducted by observing the patient's medical records on April 26-May 6 2023. The research design used a descriptive type with the case study method, samples taken by patients using the total sampling method with a sample of 15 patients. In the patient's fall risk assessment, it was found that 6 patients had a low risk (40%) and 9 patients had a high risk of falling (60%). In this study, out of 15 patients, only 1 patient underwent a reassessment, while the other 14 patients only underwent an initial assessment. Based on this study it was concluded that the fall risk assessment needs to be improved as a patient safety effort not only as an assessment carried out on patients starting when the patient is admitted to the hospital (initial assessment) but also reassessment when the patient experiences a change in clinical status due to care or treatment while in the hospital. It is hoped that it can apply a fall risk assessment according to Standard Operating Procedures as an effort to save patients from falling incidents so that patients get appropriate treatment or avoid giving inappropriate treatment.Key Words: patient safety; initial assessment; review asessment; risk of fallingABSTRAKJatuh merupakan penyebab kematian nomor dua di rumah sakit setelah kesalahan pengobatan. Abstract

Noise exposure can hurt the health of industrial workers, especially the hearing loss in agricultural industry workers. This study aims to analyze noise exposure that can cause hearing loss in agricultural workers. The method used is a literature review approach to 10 journals published nationally and internationally that are reputable with search engines through 3 databases: Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and Pubmed in the 2019-2024 publication period. This study found that several factors can cause hearing loss in agricultural industry workers, consisting of two factors that cause disorders: individual and worker factors. Individual factors are age and level of knowledge, while work factors are length of service, length of work, noise intensity, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Workers need to increase their knowledge regarding the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of hearing loss in the agricultural industry. Therefore, health workers, especially nurses, must be involved in educating agricultural industry workers.

Abstract

Cumulative exposure to solar UV radiation is linked to chronic skin and eye diseases such as skin cancer, photoaging, actinic keratosis, pterygium, cataracts, and possibly macular degeneration. This study aims to determine farmers' knowledge about UV rays on eye health in anticipating the dangers of excessive UV rays and increase farmer awareness of the sources and risks of UV rays for eye health. The method used is a literature review to examine the effects of UV Lights on the health and productivity of farmers in more depth. This literature search was conducted until March 19, 2023, using the PubMed and Science Direct article search engines, with the following search terms using the BOOLEAN Operator technique: "UV Light effects" AND "Farmer," "UV Rays" AND "Farmer," "Heat Effects" AND "Farmer." The analysis carried out in this study concluded that outdoor workers (PL), especially those working in sectors such as agriculture, construction, and fishing, are at high risk of exposure to the harmful effects of UV rays. Fishermen and farmers have a higher risk of cataracts due to excessive UV exposure to the eyes. One of the prevention efforts that can be done is health promotion regarding farmers' knowledge about UV light on eye health in anticipating the dangers of excessive UV light and increasing farmer awareness about the sources and risks of UV light for eye health. Health workers, especially nurses, can provide health services through supportive therapy to overcome physical and psychological problems in cataract patients and helps anticipate the dangers of UV rays at work.

Abstract

Pesticide exposure can have various negative impacts on pregnant women, especially for fetal development so that it can cause low birth weight. This study aims to analyze the literature findings over the past five years related to the relevance of pesticide exposure to the incidence of low birth weight in agricultural areas. This research method uses a literature review of 10 selected articles. The databases used were ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and PubMed, with the keywords pesticides, low birth weight, and agriculture. A total of 10 articles were obtained, and they will go through the screening process through inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed that pregnant women in agricultural areas have a greater risk of being exposed to pesticides, which can have an impact on the growth and development of the fetus they are carrying. In addition, it can also cause a decrease in IGF1 levels, which can impact the incidence of LBW. Pregnant women can do prevention by minimizing the use of chemicals containing pesticides and using personal protective equipment. This study found that pesticide exposure can increase the risk of low birth weight incidence in agricultural areas, where most people, especially pregnant women in agricultural areas, feel the negative impact of pesticide exposure on the incidence of low birth weight

Abstract

One indicator of the effectiveness of HIV/AIDS prevention can be measured by the role of stakeholders involved in the HIV/AIDS prevention program. The obstacles are that there are still unequal perceptions of interest regarding the target group from each stakeholder in developing HIV/AIDS prevention programs and a lack of coordination between internal and external agencies, so there has been no effort to integrate programs between agencies. The purpose of this activity is to optimize the role of stakeholders in HIV AIDS prevention in Jember. This activity was carried out in stages (1) presenting material on "The Role of Stakeholders in HIV AIDS Response" and questions and answers related to the material presented, as well as (2) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss the implementation of the role of stakeholders in HIV AIDS response. The results of this activity show that stakeholders could understand the national strategy in dealing with HIV AIDS; stakeholders understood their role in HIV AIDS prevention, and stakeholder groups stated that they would help in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Definitive policy recommendations issued by local governments related to stakeholder involvement in HIV AIDS response.
