Abstract

The application of knowledge management (KM) using Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is able to capture, store, and disseminate disaster information in all phases of the tsunami disaster. IoT promises to provide continuous fast data, AI used in several disaster risk management applications promises to automate the analysis and dissemination of potential disaster information, as well as the results of disaster event analysis more accurately and faster. This study aims to develop an AI and IoT-based KM model for tsunami risk management based on the comparative results of previous research. The results of the comparison show that most KM, AI, and IoT research focus on the process of knowledge capture, knowledge store, knowledge sharing and mostly focus on pre-disaster. Some other KM research focuses on KM systems without AI, and IoT on the process of knowledge capture, knowledge store, knowledge sharing and only focuses on the stage of a disaster. There is very limited KM research that simultaneously examines KMS, AI, IoT in all knowledge management processes for all stages of tsunami disaster risk. The results of the comparison utilize to develop AI and IoT-based KM models for all stages of tsunami disaster risk management. This study can be a good guidance for stakeholders on the application of AI-based KM and IoT technology to manage tsunami disaster risk in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara yang kaya akan hasil bumi, terutama pada hasil tambang. Sebagian besar kegiatan penambangan menggunakan metode tambang terbuka. Tambang terbuka di Indonesia memiliki banyak dampak bagi lingkungan, salah satunya menyebabkan terbentuknya lubang bukaan, sehingga berpotensi menyebabkan masuknya air dalam jumlah yang besar. Ketika air masuk ke dalam lubang bukaan maka dapat menghambat kegiatan produksi penambangan, dan berdampak pada tidak terpenuhinya kebutuhan konsumen. Sistem penyaliran tambang terbuka sangat dibutuhkan untuk area tambang yang berpotensi memiliki curah hujan yang tinggi. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada riwayat data curah hujan yang dikumpulkan oleh Badan Meterorologi dan Geofisika serta internal perusahaan tambang. Pengelolaan air tambang pada tambang terbuka didekati dengan metode mine drainage dan mine dewatering. Penerapan metode tersebut tergantung pada masing-masing kebutuhan yang ada di lapangan. Penerapan sistem penyaliran yang benar akan membuat produktivitas penambangan meningkat dan tidak mengganggu keadaan lingkungan areal kegiatan penambangan. Oleh karena itu, sistem penyaliran pada kegiatan penambangan terbuka di Indonesia sangatlah dibutuhkan. Kata-kata kunci: tambang terbuka, sistem penyaliran, mine drainage, mine dewatering

Abstract

Rock mass classification is used as an important parameter in determining rock reaction to a construction, one of several rock mass classification methods is point load test. Point load test is preferred because of its ease in determining rock mass classes, both in terms of cost and time. Until now, many research results have been found that discuss the point load test with the aim of reducting the error value from the test result. In this research, a literature review was conducted from several research results to find outlines of things that must be considered and determine its superiority in converting to other test values. The results showed that the operator's ability, cone plate geometry, periodic tool maintenance, loading arm length and sample geometry as things to consider in point load test and point load index value can be converted to uniaxial compressive strength value, taking into account the geological conditions and correction values for each rock type.Keyword : PLT, rock mass classification, tool, test

Abstract

Blasting activities cause ground vibrations that affect the potential for ground displacement in surface mining. That will have an impact on the stability of the slope and environmental problems. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the prediction ground vibrations measured by peak particle velocity (PPV). Artificial Intelligent (AI) has an important role to overcome the limitations of parameters used, uncertainty, and inaccuracy than conventional methods. AI for prediction ground vibration has grown a lot in recent years. To find out an accurate and effective AI technique, the authors compare several techniques by evaluating their strengths and weaknesses based on literature studies. The ICA-M5Rules model and ICA-ANN model are techniques that have high accuracy and flexibility of use than other presented techniques. And related to the use of parameters, there are other parameters that play an important role which will be reviewed in this journal.

Abstract

Rock strength can be known from it's physical and mechanical properties which are strongly influenced by weathering. It requires a lot of time and research cost to find out about the effect of weathering on rock strength in various types of rock, therefore research was conducted in a literature review. The higher of weathering class affect the decrease of rock strength.

Abstract

An important problem that often occurs due to open pit mining activities from coal mining is the problem of acid mine drainage. Acid mine drainage is formed due to the oxidation of sulfide minerals that are exposed to the outside and then mixes with water, resulting in acidic water and also acid mining water often contains suspended solids that have high concentrations. This acidic mining waste can cause corrosion and dissolve metals so that contaminated water is toxic and can destroy aquatic life. Handling of acid mine drainage as passive treatment with constructed wetland methods is often applied to acid mine drainage treatment in several coal mining companies. By applying the method of constructed wetlands in the handling of acid mine drainage, it is effective in increasing the pH value and reducing the dissolved heavy metal content. This research is to find a management method for acid mine drainage using the constructed wetland method, so it is reviewed again to assist the management process of acid mine drainage by passive treatment with the constructed wetland method. The review was conducted to compare the management method of acid mine drainage with the constructed wetland method and to find out the advantages and disadvantages of swamp plants used in the artificial wetland method.

Abstract

Simulations in open pit drainage/dewatering, flooding, and environmental impact assessments were carried out using groundwater flow models. In mining hydrogeology, the utility of numerical models is very limited because of the uncertainty associated with the assumptions of hydrogeological parameters and boundary conditions. Among them is a lack of data in identifying hydrogeological conditions, changes in rainfall and evaporation cycles, changes due to land management due to mining activities, changes in mining work schedules, and post-mining void flooding. Numerical modeling is a tool used in diagnosing, managing, and predicting water behavior in soil, which has become increasingly important in recent years. Although mathematical modeling has its advantages, mathematical modeling cannot be the source of all answers to all questions related to groundwater. Modelling is a dynamic tool that must always be developed for the continuous improvement process, to become a representation of natural phenomena. Thus, this review presents a methodological approach to find out the numerical model, overcoming its capabilities and limitations, in the case of different applications in the mining industry, such as open-pit drainage/dewatering and heap leach. Therefore, the purpose of this study through a literature review conducted is to determine how the application of groundwater modeling in an open-pit mining environment is based on the case study examples in this literature.

Abstract

Dealing with water in open pit mining causes many operational, economic and safety problems. as mining depth increases, hydrogeological conditions become more complex, and water inflow to the mine increases every year, mine water disasters occur frequently, resulting in tens of millions of dollars in economic losses. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the flow of water into the mine. This study aims to determine the groundwater flow model that is suitable for mining, and to see the trend of groundwater flow into the pit and determine the factors that influence the flow of water into the mine. The author conducted comparisons of several literatures to determine the best model, analyze groundwater flow trends and factors that influence water flow to the mine. From these results, it is found that, numerical models provide better results than analytical models, groundwater flow trends increase and decrease and fluctuate, with respect to time and depth, as well as many factors that affect the flow of groundwater to the mine pit, including geology, hydrogeology, and mining activities.

Abstract

The planning of 497 steam power plants (PLTU) is one solution in meeting the growing electricity needs (Strategic Plan of Directorate of Electricity, 2015). The development of PLTU in Indonesia, then the waste of Hazardous and Toxic Materials (B3) due to the remaining burning of coal in the form of fly ash and bottom ash is increasing. This B3 waste can pollute the environment if not managed and used properly. This research aims to find out optimal strength if the fly ash, bottom ash, and limestone are used for cement-added materials. The test used is a compression strength test. The molding time of the tube-shaped sample is 28 days with a volume of 196.40 cm3. Sample A as a sample indicator consisting of cement, sand, and gravel with a ratio of 1:2:3. Sample B is made of limestone, sample C is made of bottom ash, and sample D is made of fly ash. The comparison of cement-added materials in each sample was 5%, 15%, and 18% of the cement volume in sample A. The level of use of limestone as a cement added material is 5-15%, while the use of fly ash is optimal at 15-18% content, and the use of bottom ash is only optimal at 5% content.

Abstract

Siklon tropis merupakan bencana yang belum dikenal dalam Database Informasi Bencana Indonesia (DIBI). Ketika siklon tropis Seroja menghantam wilayah Nusa Tenggara Timur 4 April 2021, secara tidak langsung telah menyebabkan ratusan korban meninggal dan puluhan ribu rumah serta bangunan lainnya rusak berat. Saat ini di Indonesia belum ada standar rumah dan bangunan yang tahan terhadap kecepatan angin siklon. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan desain rumah yang dapat dijadikan model bagi aktor kebencanaan bidang perumahan dalam menyediakan hunian ramah angin di wilayah terdampak maupun rawan bencana angin siklon. Model desain dikembangkan berdasarkan panduan, rekomendasi, dan preseden dari negara lain yang kemudian disesuaikan dengan konteks Indonesia. Model “Rumah Inti” dirasa lebih sesuai dengan konteks Indonesia daripada model rumah semi permanen yang menggunakan dinding batu setengah tinggi dan papan kayu di bagian atasnya. Dengan model Rumah Inti, struktur bangunan ramah gempa dapat dipersiapkan terlebih dahulu. Hal ini juga berguna bagi keluarga penerima bantuan ketika akan merenovasi atau mengembangkan rumahnya di masa yang akan datang.Kata Kunci: Angin Siklon; Rumah Bantuan; Rumah Inti; Konstruksi; Model Desain
