Abstract

Long COVID is a disease in COVID-19 patients who have recovered, but still experience symptoms for longer than normal COVID-19 patients. The main contributing factor to the emergence of long-lasting symptoms is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD is a stress-related mental disorder and may arise following exposure to a serious and unpleasant traumatic event or injury. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized Long COVID as a significant health problem and has initiated research efforts. The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between Post Traumatic Stress Disorder factors and psychosomatic symptoms of Long COVID patients at RSUD Tabanan Regional. This research is an observational analytic with a cross-sectional design. Sample collection was carried out on COVID-19 patients who had been declared cured and allowed to go home at the RSUD Tabanan who had met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sampling technique is purposive random sampling, with a minimum sample size calculated using the Lemeshow formula, namely 73 respondents. Data was collected using an offline questionnaire. This study aims to determine the age and gender characteristics, the magnitude of the incidence, and the relationship between Post Traumatic Stress Disorder factors and psychosomatic symptoms of Long COVID patients. The research results showed that a small number of respondents, 29 people (39.73%) experienced PTSD during COVID, and 44 people (60.27%) did not experience PTSD. The results of the analysis of the psychosomatic symptoms of Long COVID patients showed that the majority of respondents, 59 (80.82%) had long-lasting symptoms, and 14 (19.18%) patients did not have long-lasting symptoms. After being tested using the bivariate Spearman correlation test, the result was P value = 0.001 < ? (0.050), meaning that there was a significant relationship between the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder factor and the psychosomatic symptoms of Long COVID patients at the RSUD Tabanan.

Abstract

Abstract

The trend of changing eating patterns in today's adolescents cannot be separated from the influence of increasing socio-economic conditions and the number of interesting restaurants. With an unbalanced diet, eating fast food on a regular basis allows teens to develop anemia. Adolescents who suffer from anemia can experience growth disorders, decreased learning concentration, and lack of enthusiasm in carrying out activities because they feel tired quickly. This study aims to determine the effect of fast food on learning concentration in adolescents who regularly consume fast food. This study was an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional method and involved 106 samples. Based on the bivariate analysis using Chi-square correlation that has been carried out on the two variables, the interpretation of the final result of this study is that the frequency of fast food consumption per week has no correlation on learning concentration. This is because the analysis results obtained show a significant value between the frequency of consumption of fast food per week with a learning concentration of 0.875 and the odd ratio shows a value of 0.939. In this study, there is no effect of fast food on learning concentration in adolescents who regularly consume fast food. Keywords: fast food, learning concentration, anemia, correlation

Abstract

Interpersonal relationship and work stress are important elements in occupational health. To study the correlation of interpersonal relationship and work stress among female health care staff. This research is a cross sectional analytical study carried out in Surya Husadha Hospital Denpasar among female health care staff from 5 strata of professions; ICU doctors, nurses, pharmacists, medical lab technicians and administrative staff. About 82 samples are involved in this study which are drawn by multistage random sampling. Majority staff (28%) are known to be experiencing moderate interpersonal relationship with moderate level of work stress. The value of correlation coefficient of Pearson between interpersonal relationship and work stress is r = -0.572 and p = 0.001. The p value indicates a significant correlation between interpersonal relationship and work stress whereas the value of r = -0.572 indicates a negative relationship with a moderate strength of correlation between the two variables whereby stronger the interpersonal relationship, lower the stress level or vice versa. Hence, the hypothesis of this research is accepted. There is a moderate negative correlation between interpersonal relationship and work stress among female health care staff in Surya Husadha Hospital Denpasar. The negative correlation means if interpersonal relationship decreases then work stress increases or vice versa. This study can benefit the future researchers to determine ways in enhancing the interpersonal relationship in order to decrease the level of stress among female health care staff also in improvising health care provider to the society

Abstract

Background: Since the emergence of COVID-19 in 2019, Indonesia’s COVID-19 Task Force has implemented distance or online learning in educational sectors, especially in Java and Bali. In its implementation, a certain number of medical students developed a tendency to prefer online learning compared to face-to-face learning without completely understanding its risks. Other factors such as financial barriers, social isolation, limitation of physical activity, change of diet, and anxiety-prone tendencies in COVID-19 pandemic, not much further research has been carried out. This study aims to determine whether medical students’ stress can be aggravated by several factors, namely online learning, financial barriers, social isolation, limitation of physical activity, change of diet, and anxiety-prone tendencies in order to obtain information whether online learning can be applied, even when the pandemic is over. Methods: Research design used a quantitative approach. Data collection was performed through online questionnaires distributed to 238 medical students selected using simplified random sampling. Data was analysed descriptively and inferentially. Inferential analysis used T-Test and ANOVA Test. Results: Online learning, financial barriers, social isolation, limitation of physical activity, change of diet, and anxiety-prone tendencies independently and cumulatively elevate medical students’ stress. Cumulatively, independent factors mentioned above have 85% effect in aggravating of medical students’ stress. Conclusion: Online learning application has to be reconsidered due to additional stress implicated to medical students. In addition, financial barriers, social isolation, limitation of physical activity, change of diet, and anxiety-prone tendencies are important factors in aggravating medical students’ stress.

Abstract

Employees of Credit Union Lantang Tipo (CULT) work in abnormal postures using computers causing mechanical neck pain (MNP) characterised by complaining of pain and reduced functional ability. This study aims to prove the efficacy of adding muscle energy technique (MET) to the participatory ergonomics approach (PEP) to reduce pain and improve functional ability in employees with MNP. This study used a true experimental design involving 40 subjects (n=20), consisting of treatment group I (PEP)) and treatment group II (addition of MET to PEP). Pain measurement used VAS and functional ability used NDI. Data analysis used Independent-Samples T-Test with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05). The results of this study are that there is a significant difference in the mean after intervention, treatment group I (VAS 5 ± 0.59 p = 0.00, NDI 22.60 ± 6.77 p = 0.01) and treatment group II (VAS 3.5 ± 0.66 p = 0.00, NDI 17.80 ± 4.15 p = 0.01) with a p value <0.05. The decrease in the mean score of VAS and NDI in treatment II was greater than treatment I. The conclusion of this study is that the added MET to PEP is proven to be more effective in reducing pain and improving functional abilities in employees with MNP.
