Abstract

Indonesia has increasing threats to its national resilience stemming from the ascendance of radical ideologies and the widespread impact of globalized popular culture, both of which erode traditional values and social cohesion. This study investigates the utilization of cultural strategy as a preventive framework to enhance national identity and mitigate ideological risks. The study utilized a qualitative research design based on a constructivist paradigm, incorporating literature reading and document analysis, with an emphasis on state policies and cultural expressions, specifically dangdut koplo music. The results indicate that cultural components, when included in national policy, serve as instruments of soft power that bolster cohesion and ideological temperance. The findings underscore the necessity of incorporating cultural expressions into policy and educational frameworks to ensure enduring resilience. The discourse underscores that cultural strategy is integral to national defense, providing a repeatable framework for other multicultural civilizations facing analogous sociocultural upheavals.

Abstract

Abstract

Hematology analyzers are used in almost all clinical laboratories for CBC testing. CBC test results are crucial, as they play a significant role in establishing diagnoses and determining the appropriate therapy for patients. This study aims to analyze the effect of anticoagulant type, storage temperature, and delay time on the results of erythrocyte, leukocyte, and thrombocyte counts in whole blood samples. The study design employed was a laboratory experiment with a total of 64 samples, which were subjected to a combination of treatments involving anticoagulant type (Vacutainer and conventional), storage temperature (room temperature and refrigerator), and delay time for testing (0, 6, 12, and 24 hours). The examination was conducted using a hematology analyzer, and data analysis was performed using the Kruskal–Wallis test and the post hoc Mann–Whitney U test. The results showed that there was no significant effect of the three factors on the number of erythrocytes and leukocytes. However, the delay time significantly affected the platelet count (p=0.004), with significant differences observed between 6 hours and 24 hours, and between 12 hours and 24 hours. The delay in blood examination with K3EDTA and Na2EDTA affects the morphology of erythrocytes and leukocytes. Abnormal changes occur after 6, 12, and 24 hours of storage. The gold standard is a fresh whole blood sample collected in a K3EDTA vacutainer tube with the correct volume and analyzed within a maximum of 2 hours at room temperature.

Abstract

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) is a new type of disease caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SAR-CoV-2) virus which was previously called Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCov). The spread of Covid-19 is very fast and can cause death. The increase in the number of leukocytes is directly proportional to the clinical severity of Covid-19 patients, which begins with viral invasion of the respiratory tract, then the virus will attack target cells, causing an increase in interleukin-6 which is a polypeptide cytokine and c-reactive protein that will code for leukocyte proliferation. Inflammation is a mechanism to protect from various microorganisms, in the inflammatory process cells will release various pro-inflammatory cytokines including c-reactive protein and fibrinogen. This increase in fibrinogen causes high levels of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate. This study aims to determine the relationship between the number of leukocytes and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate on the value of c-reactive protein in confirmed Covid-19 patients. This type of research uses a cross sectional design with purposive random sampling technique using secondary data. Data collection in this study was carried out in June 2022 at the RSUD Ibnu Sina Gresik Laboratory. Statistical test using Spearman correlation test. This study shows that there is a very strong relationship between the number of leukocytes and c-reactive protein (p = 0.000, r = 0.873) then there is a strong relationship between the erythrocyte sedimentation rate and c-reactive protein (p = 0.000, r = 0.659) in patients Covid-19.

Abstract

Covid-19 is a new type of virus that attacks the respiratory system and can infect humans, which can cause respiratory illness and death from acute pneumonia. Hematology and procalcitonin are laboratory investigations that are often used. This study aims to determine the relationship between the results of the examination of the leukocyte count and the ratio of neutrophil lymphocytes to procalcitonin in patients with confirmed Covid-19. This type of research uses a cross sectional design using a purposive random sampling technique that uses secondary data. Research data collection was carried out in June 2022 at the Ibnu Sina Gresik Hospital Laboratory. Statistical test using Spearman correlation test. Based on the results of the study, it was found p = 0.481, indicating that the results were not statistically significant with the correlation coefficient (r) showing a negative value of 0.134, so it can be concluded that there is a very weak relationship between the number of leukocytes and procalcitonin in patients with confirmed Covid-19. A decrease in the number of leukocytes by 1 cell/µl can increase procalcitonin levels by 0.134 ng/ml and based on the results p = 0.491 indicating that the results are not statistically significant with a correlation coefficient value (r) of 0.131 so that it shows a very weak correlation between the ratio relationship neutrophil lymphocytes to procalcitonin in patients with confirmed Covid-19.
