Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which parts of the kenikir plant have the inhibitory power of salmonella sp, escherichia coli bacteria and evaluate the active compounds of flavonoids, polyphenols and saponins that have the potential as feed additives. This research was carried out at the Laboratory of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya and the Laboratory of Metria Medica Batu Malang on October 22, 2018. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications. Treatments P0 (bacterial isolate + Aquades 30 %), P1 (bacterial isolate + 30% kenikir leaf powder concentration solution), P2 (bacterial isolate + 30% kenikir stem flour concentration solution), P3 (bacterial isolate + Leaf and stem flour concentration solution cringe 30%). The parameters observed were the inhibition of kenikir flour plant parts against Salmonella sp., Escherichia coli bacteria and evaluation of the active compounds of flavonoids, polyphenols and saponins from kenikir plant flour. The results showed that the effect of differences in flour from the part of the kenikir plant on the inhibition of bacteria was very significant (P<0.01) on Salmonella sp and Escherichia coli bacteria.

Abstract

This study was aimed to evaluate apple pomaces using fermentation and enzymatic technology (Aspergillus niger and glucanase enzymes). Treatments in this research were used enzymatic technology (T1) and fermentation technology (T2) and the second factor of the level of enzyme used Aspergillus niger processing: without Aspergillus niger (L0), 0.2% Aspergillus niger (L1), 0.4% Aspergillus niger (L2) and 0.6% Aspergillus niger (L3) and treatment used Glucanase enzyme: without Glucanase (L0), 0.2% Glucanase (L1), 0.4% Glucanase (L2) and 0, 6% Glucanase (L3). Data analysis used nested using a Completely Randomized Design. Based on the results of the study shows that fermentation technology using 0.6% glucanase gives better feed quality compared to the treatment using Aspergillus niger.

Abstract

The experiment was to determine the composition of putak waste nutrein to increase through  fermentation by Aspergillus niger, Saccharomyces cereviseae and its combinations. The experiment method used laboratory experimental method by applying Nested Plot Random Design. The first factor is inoculum (P): Aspergillus niger, Saccharomyces cereviseae and their combination on the level of 1,5% and the incubation time length (W): 0, 24, 48, 72 hours as the second factor. Variables measured of putak waste fiber component analysis. The results showed that the type of inoculum effect on fiber component (Neutral Detergent Fiber / NDF, Hemicellulose and Lignin) is very significantly influence (P<0,01) and fiber component (Acid Detergent Fiber/ADF and Cellulose) is significantly influence  (P<0,05), while the incubation time showed very significantly influence (P<0,01) to the fiber component (NDF) and not significantly influence (P>0,05) to ADF, Hemicellulose, Cellulose and Lignin.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to determine the pH value and the antimicrobial activity of bilimbi extract (LBW) as a substitute for antibiotics. The method was field experiment using Completely Randomize Design with 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments were consist of P0(+) = antibiotic, P1= LBW 10%, P2= LBW 20% and P3= LBW 30%. Bilimbi extract used from bilimbi powder which is then dissolved. The measured variables were pH value and inhibition zone diameter of Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp. and Lactic Acid Bacteria. The data were analyzed by ANOVA and continued by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result of this research showed that LBW with higher concentration produces low pH value and the treatments between variation of concentration gave significantly different effect (P<0.01) on diameter of inhibition zone for Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp. and Lactic Acid Bacteria. The conclusion of this research was 30% concentration of LBW produces the lowest pH value, so that it can be inhibit the bacterial growth and has the potential as a substitute for antibiotics based on the result of antimicrobial activity that produces the best activity.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigation the effects of kapok banana corm fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Aspergillus niger of a compound feed growing pigs on nutrient digestibility. Sixteen crossbred growing pigs Duroc x Landrace, (10 weeks of age; initial body weight 27 ± 3.92 kg) were allotted into four treatments in a randomized block design. There were four treatments diets offered: basal diets without corm fermented feeds (RO); basal diets + 7% corm fermented feeds (R1); basal diets + 14% corm fermented feeds (R2); basal diets + 21% corm fermented feeds (R3). Inclusion of 21% corm fermented feeds in the diet of pigs significantly reduced (P <0.01) dry matter intake and organic matter compared to the control diet. There were no significant different between 14% and 21% corm fermented feeds on the intake and digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of the pigs. However, inclusion of corm fermented feeds at the level of 7% showed the optimum digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, and energy with the average value of 66.57%, 70.48%, 83.43% and 70.76%, respectively. It can be concluded that inclusion of corm fermented feeds as compound diet at the level of 7% increased dry matter digestibility and organic matter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan fitobiotik daun mint (Mentha piperita L.) bentuk tepung sebagai pakan tambahan terhadap karkas ayam pedaging. Materi yang digunakan adalah 200 ekor DOC jantan dengan koefisien keragaman 9,69%. Metode yang digunakan adalah percobaan lapang dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, setiap ulangan menggunakan 8 ekor ayam pedaging. Adapun perlakuan yang digunakan P0+ (pakan basal + 0,01% antibiotik Zn Bacitracin), P0- (pakan basal + 0 % tepung daun mint), P1 (pakan basal + 0,5% tepung daun mint), P2 (pakan basal + 1% tepung daun mint) dan P3 (pakan basal + 1,5% tepung daun mint). Variabel yang diamati meliputi persentase karkas, persentase lemak abdominal dan warna daging. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam dan apabila terdapat perbedaan dilanjutkan uji Jarak Berganda Duncan’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap persentase karkas, persentase lemak abdominal dan warna daging. Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan tepung daun mint sampai level 1,5% sebagai pakan tambahan belum dapat memperbaiki kualitas karkas ayam pedaging.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat penggunaan campuran tepung bonggol pisang dan Indigofera sp. sebagai pengganti bekatul terhadap performa ayam pedaging. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan dilakukan pada umur 15-35 hari (fase finisher). Perlakuan yang diberikan sebagai berikut: P0 = 50% Jagung + 40% Konsentrat + 10% Bekatul, P1 = 50% Jagung + 40% Konsentrat + 7,5% Bekatul + 2,5% Campuran Tepung bonggol pisang dan Indigofera sp. P2 = 50% Jagung + 40% Konsentrat + 5% Bekatul + 5% Campuran Tepung bonggol pisang dan Indigofera sp. P3 = 50% Jagung + 40% Konsentrat + 2,5% Bekatul + 7,5% Campuran Tepung bonggol pisang dan Indigofera sp. P4 = 50% Jagung + 40% Konsentrat + 10% Campuran Tepung bonggol pisang dan Indigofera sp. Variabel yang diamati yaitu konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan, indeks performa, dan Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan (UJBD). Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan penggunaan campuran tepung bonggol pisang dan Indigofera sp. sebagai pengganti bekatul memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) pada konsumsi pakan dan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) pada pertambahan bobot badan dan menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berpengaruh nyata pada konversi pakan, indeks perfoma, dan Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC).

Abstract

The purpose of community service through this Doctoral Service Grant is to help market MSME products assisted by the Blitar Regency Livestock and Fisheries Service through the Triple-Helix model with the concept of e-commerce. The expected result is to expand the market of assisted MSME products in Blitar Regency produced by OPS Cooperative, Srikandi Kitchen, MuZa Smoked Salted Eggs and AKBest (Akademi Komunitas Negeri Putra Sang Fajar Blitar). The location of community service activities will be carried out in Blitar Regency from May to August 2022. The steps of the activity are: 1. Coordination to establish triple-helix cooperation  2. Improving the product image of MSMEs 3. Provide counseling on market share, knowing desires and recognizing potential customers 4. Providing online processed product promotion facilities 5. Providing skills about online transactions and the Canva application The result that has been obtained during the activity process is that parties in the triple-helix model can coordinate so that MSMEs are always informed of government programs. Canva application training and social media creation assistance can improve the product image of MSMEs and then also provide skills about market share, and potential consumers in addition to online transactions. The continuation of the program is still needed for assistance in order to maintain business motivation and improve product quality.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to 1) determine the causes of conflict between the Sidomulyo hamlet community and the Baluran National Park management; 2) find opportunities for conflict resolution through empowering peasant women. This research was carried out from April to June 2022. The method used is descriptive qualitative by direct field survey and interviews with Baluran National Park managements and Sidomulyo Hamlet farmers. Key informants were chosen using the purposive sampling method followed by snowball sampling. The data required includes the dynamics of conflict, the variety of conflicts, conflict actors, sources of conflict, and opportunities to empower women farmers. Based on the research data on the sources of conflict between the Sidomulyo community and the management of Baluran National Park, there are four different sources of conflict: differences in perceptions, knowledge, values, and values and differences in interests. Three resolutions are applied: Peacekeeping, Peacemaking, and Peacebuilding. In the Peacebuilding resolution empowerment programs is chosen because there is a big potential in for women to do entrepreneur activities. Women farmer empowerment can be done through entrepreneuship. The conservation village model through micro-credit assistance and the formation of women's farmer groups. The aim is to increase livestock yield products and the economy, income, and food security.

Abstract

Masyarakat Dusun Sidomulyo yang merupakan daerah penyangga Taman Nasional Baluran (TNB) selama beberapa generasi telah menyatu dan memanfaatkan wilayah di sekitar TN Baluran untuk menggembalakan sapi potong. Pemeliharaan secara ekstensif ini lambat laun memasuki daerah konservasi. Dampak dari penggembalaan ekstensif ini secara sosial dan ekologis sangat merugikan. Upaya memadukan dua kepentingan yaitu pemenuhan kebutuhan peternak sapi potong dan konservasi di TN Baluran sudah lama dilakukan. Program inisiasi Program Usaha Ternak Sapi Potong intensif dinilai tepat untuk Kawasan SPTN Wilayah II Sidomulyo Taman Nasional Baluran dalam rangka menyelamatkan TN Baluran dari tekanan masyarakat sekitar sekaligus untuk memberdayakan peternak sapi potong di daerah penyangga. Usaha Ternak Sapi Potong Intensif diharapkan dapat meng­optimalkan potensi wilayah desa penyangga dan mendukung program konservasi Taman Nasional Baluran. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dengan menginisiasi desain kandang komunal dan bank pakan untuk mewujudkan usaha ternak sapi intensif yang menguntungkan semua pihak. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan tercapainya semua indikator keberhasilan yang direncanakan, sejauh ini peternak yang terlibat bersedia untuk memulai intensifikasi usaha dan melakukan fermentasi pakan sebagai awal pendirian bank pakan, namun perubahan sosial dari program tetap membutuhkan sampai menimbulkan dampak yang diinginkan.
