Abstract

The objective of the research was to study the application of strangulation, packlobutrazol and ethephon to stimulate flowering of mangosteen trees. The experiment was conducted from June 2002 to September2 003, located at Farmer's Mangosteen Orchards, Leuwiliang, Bogor. A randomized block design with two factors was used in thisexperiment. The first factor was treatments to stimulate flowering consisted of three levels i.e strangulation (8), (S) application of paclobubtrazol (P) and control (K). The second factor was treatments for dormancy breaking consisted of two levels i.e without ethephon (Eo) and with ethephon (EiJ. Each treatment was replicated four times. The resultshowed that strangulation and application of paclobutrazol were effective in stimulating flowering of mangosteen trees. Those treatments decreased gibberellic acid content and increased total sugar and C: N ratio. Interaction effect was found between treatments to stimulate flowering and ethephon on number of flowers, number of fruits and weight of fruits per tree. The highest fruits weight (2.,50 kg/tree) was obtained on the combination of paclobutrazol with ethephon while the lowest was in control without ethephon( 6.05 kg/tree).Key words: Mangosteen, Strangulation, Paclobutrazol, Ethephon, Flowering;

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to analyze the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer packages on the growth of Tejakula tangerine plants and changes in soil chemical properties after being given organic and inorganic fertilizer packages. Research methods: The method used in this research was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 1 (one) factor. The treatment tested was the fertilizer package dose (P), consisting of 3 levels, namely organic fertilizer/cow manure (Po), organic cow manure + 22.6 g Urea fertilizer + 4 g KCl fertilizer + Phonska Plus 15 fertilizer -15-15 dose 84 g (Ph), and organic cow manure fertilizer + Urea fertilizer dose 22.6 g, KCl fertilizer dose 4 g, Phonska Plus fertilizer 15-15-15 dose 84 g + mycorrhizal biofertilizer + liquid organic fertilizer (POC) probiotics (Pc). Each treatment was repeated 8 times to obtain 24 treatments. Findings: The response to the fertilizer package had a significant to very significant effect on plant growth, such as increasing plant height, increasing the number of primary branches, increasing stem diameter and number of leaves. The fertilizer package that gave the highest response to plant height, number of leaves, while the increase in stem diameter had the same effect. Primary branch augmentation is the most influential Ph package but is not significantly different from PC. The effect of fertilizer packages on changes in soil chemical properties is that pH is neutral, DHL is classified as low to very high, C-org is classified as high, N-tot is classified as medium, P-available and K-available is classified as very high. Implication: The effect of mixed organic, inorganic and biological fertilizers and probiotic POC provide the best response to plant growth and increase DHL in the soil.

Abstract

Organically cultivated salak (Salacca zalacca) on dry land has limited production in Bali. Typically, fertilization is carried out using leaf litter or other organic fertilizers because soil fertility is low for salak plantations. The present study analyzed the effectiveness of an indigenous endomycorrhizal biofertilizer on the nutrient and total carbohydrate content of salak leaves and fruits. The study used a randomized block design with nine replicates. The treatment consisted of three levels, i.e., (1) fertilization with leaf litter only, as practiced by farmers and used as the control (C); (2) fertilization with an indigenous endomycorrhizal biofertilizer prototype (P); and (3) combined fertilization with leaf litter and an indigenous endomycorrhizal biofertilizer prototype (PM). Spores of indigenous endomycorrhizae from salak plantations were used to prepare the biofertilizer prototype. The results showed that the P and PM treatments provided beneficial results, such as: (1) significantly increasing chlorophyll content, relative water content of leaves, and the number and weight of fruits per tree; (2) improving fruit quality by increasing sweetness and weight per fruit; and (3) having a positive effect on water uptake and nutrient absorption, as indicated by high N and P contents in leaf tissue and high carbohydrate content in leaves.

Abstract

Padi gogo (Oryza sativa L. var. gogo) ialah sebuah varietas padi yang dapat ditanam pada lahan kering yang sumber airnya hanya mengandalkan curah hujan. Cekaman kekeringan pada budidaya padi gogo di lahan kering terjadi karena irigasi berbasis curah hujan dan adanya perubahan iklim secara global, curah hujan jatuhnya tidak menentu sehingga padi gogo yang ditanam sering kali mengalami kekeringan pada fase-fase kritis akibat kurangnya kadar air tanah. Penggunaan arang jerami padi bisa mendorong efektivitas pupuk, memasok unsur hara makro, meningkatkan kesuburan, serta memperbaiki karakteristik fisik tanah. Studi berikut menerapkan Susunan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dalam 2 faktor, faktor ke-1 tersusun atas “cekaman kekeringan 100% kapasitas lapang (C0), 80% kapasitas lapang (C1), 60% kapasitas lapang (C2), dan 40% kapasitas lapang (C3)”, faktor ke-2 terdiri dari dosis biochar jerami padi “0 ton/ha (D0), 5 ton/ha (D1), 10 ton/ha (D2), dan 15 ton/ha (D3)”. Variabel pengamatan terdiri dari tinggi tanaman, KAR daun, banyaknya anakan produktif, banyaknya gabah isi per malai, berat segar gabah per polybag, serat berat kering gabah per polybag. Perolehan studi memuktikkan bahwasannya pemberian perlakuan cekaman kekeringan amat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan serta perolehan tanaman padi gogo. Semakin besar perlakuan cekaman kekeringan yang diberikan akan menurunkan nilai masing-masing variabel pengamatan. Pemberian dosis biochar jerami padi pada kadar 10 ton/ha terbaik pada variabel kandungan air relatif daun senilai 77,12%, banyaknya gabah isi per malai 23,30 g, berat segar gabah per polybag sebesar 4,74 ton/ha, dan berat kering gabah per polybag sebesar 3,79 ton/ha

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan ketahanan pangan melalui pelatihan manajemen usaha tani yang berfokus pada pencatatan keuangan sederhana serta peningkatan pemahaman praktik pertanian berkelanjutan pada kelompok tani. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebagai bagian dari pendampingan pemanfaatan informasi unsur hara tanah untuk mendukung pengambilan keputusan penggunaan input pertanian secara lebih bijak. Pelatihan yang dilaksanakan pada 13 November 2025 meliputi pencatatan keuangan usaha tani serta sosialisasi dampak penggunaan pupuk kimia terhadap kesuburan tanah dan lingkungan. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan melalui wawancara kepada peserta pelatihan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan sekitar 80% peserta mampu memahami dan melakukan pencatatan keuangan usaha tani secara mandiri, serta 85% peserta meningkat pemahamannya mengenai dampak penggunaan pupuk kimia terhadap kesuburan tanah dan lingkungan. Program ini mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) khususnya SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), serta SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) melalui penguatan kapasitas petani dan kolaborasi dalam penerapan praktik pertanian berkelanjutan. Optimizing Food Security through Farm Management Training and Soil Nutrient-Based Fertilizer Education Abstract This Community Service Program aims to optimize food security through farm business management training focused on financial record-keeping and improving farmers’ understanding of sustainable agricultural practices. The activity was conducted as part of mentoring in utilizing soil nutrient information to support more informed and responsible input management. The training, held on November 13, 2025, covered simple farm financial records and socialization on the environmental and soil fertility impacts of excessive chemical fertilizer use. The results indicate improved farmers’ awareness of the importance of financial records for evaluating farm performance and increased understanding of the risks associated with improper fertilizer application. Soil nutrient information was used as an educational medium to encourage more appropriate and sustainable fertilizer practices. Overall, the program contributed positively to enhancing farmers’ economic and environmental awareness in support of sustainable food security.
