Abstract

Seeing the difficulties faced by parents in guiding their children to study at home, especially children with special needs, parenting education is an effort to increase parents' knowledge about the guidance of children with special needs studying at home is very important. It aims to provide solutions to the various problems experienced by parents so that they are able to carry out their role in guiding children with special needs to study well at home. The subjects of this study were parents of students from a school in West Java. The activity carried out was the provision of material on guiding children with special needs to study at home through whatsapp media which was presented in the form of microblogs and PDFs. The conclusion of this study is that parents gain new knowledge about guiding children with special needs to study at home.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the affective and psychomotor aspects of 5th-grade students of elementary school West Java, Indonesia with student special needs. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method to 38 5th-grade students of elementary school West Java, Indonesia with student special needs. Data collection techniques in this study were in the form of surveys and questionnaires, namely filling out a questionnaire on a google form that had been prepared. The results of this survey stated that 90% of the students of elementary school West Java, Indonesia, 90% still often interacted with their families, did not tend to play games in their daily lives, students were still doing sports during the COVID-19 pandemic. To encourage children's psychomotor, all students are still enthusiastic when learning online, even students’ experience a decrease in enthusiasm when learning online compared to face-to-face learning. Overall, almost all students want to return to face-to-face learning directly to the school. These results indicate that the students' sense of enthusiasm for learning at elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate the preparation of carbon microparticles obtained from red dragon fruit peel waste and their adsorption isotherm characteristics. The carbon microparticles were prepared by combining carbonization (at 250°C) and saw-milling process, and to get carbon microparticles with a specific size, sieve analysis was used. The adsorption isotherm was done by testing the adsorption ability of carbon microparticles with a specific size into curcumin solution in the batch-type reactor. The adsorption results were then compared to several standard isotherm models (i.e., Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, and Dubinin-Radushkevich models) for understanding what phenomena happen during the adsorption process. The adsorption analysis was also confirmed by testing several sizes of the carbon microparticles to predict the proposal mechanism in the adsorption process. The analysis results showed that the multilayer adsorption process occurs for all sizes in the micrometer range, and the process involves physical interactions between adsorbate and surface of adsorbent. The existence of multilayers is due to the possibility in the existence of porous structure in the carbon microparticles. This study is important for giving an alternative solution for reusable organic waste as well as supporting the fundamental researches in the further applications of carbon particles as catalyst and adsorbent.

Abstract

A Study conducted by PISA in 2018 showed that Indonesian students’ mathematical abilities were at a low level of performance. It means that numeracy literacy of Indonesian students is very low. The purpose of this study was to predict how the effect of learning using the Quiziz application on students’ numeracy literacy in elementary schools. The method was used the single subject method by doing pretes and post-test. The results of study show that average post-test score of students is greater than the average pretest score. This is because the Quiziz application which is used as a learning medium can be made attractively using the various features provided so that students are more interested in learning. The study conclude that the Quiziz application can improve students’ numeracy literacy skills in elementary schools. The increase in literacy has an impact on the mindset of children in solving problems in every day life.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of dioramas in learning about the highlands and lowlands for children with autistic spectrum disorders. This learning is delivered using diorama media so that children can imagine the actual environmental conditions. The method used is a single-subject method with a pretest-posttest research design. The results of this study will be reviewed from changes in students' knowledge after being given learning using diorama. Data collection techniques will be carried out through pretest before learning and posttest after learning. The result of this research is an increase in knowledge about the highlands and lowlands. it can be seen from the results of the post-test students who experienced an increase in the average value of 45. This is because the diorama learning media is interesting and can stimulate the focus of children with autism spectrum disorders. The results of this study are expected to be a solution for teachers in teaching students about highland and lowland material, especially for children with autism spectrum disorders.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to show a step-by-step process for publishing journal articles using the Quick Submit Plugin in the Open Journal System (OJS) 2.0. The method used in this study is to practice directly step by step publishing articles using the Quick Submit Plugin and conducting a literature review of existing works. An example of a journal used in the quick submit practice process is the Journal of Assessment and Intervention of Children with Special Needs (JASSI Anakku). We found that publishing journal articles can use one of the plugins in OJS 2.0 namely Quick Submit Plugin. With the completion of this research, it is hoped that it can help journal managers in submitting articles through the Quick Submit Plugin in OJS 2.0.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic requires the education system which was originally face-to-face in schools to be switched to distance learning or also known as online learning (in the network). The purpose of this research is to find out what are the problems faced by students during the online learning process. In this study, we used a descriptive method, with primary data. The results obtained indicate that there are problems faced in the distance learning process, limited learning tools, limited internet access and internet quota. It is hoped that after this research, the problems can be immediately addressed and become an evaluation for various parties to continue to improve the quality of distance learning to be more effective. Abstract

In the process of learning a song work, constraints often occur in students' limited memory. The song material given at the first meeting will be forgotten when reviewed at the second meeting, to overcome this we try to apply number notation as a way for students to recall the tone of the song that has been given. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency and response of the application of number notation to song learning in junior high school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, the data collection technique used in this study is to provide a pre-test and post-test which contains 10 questions regarding numerical notation. The findings of this study gave a positive response to the students, in the initial pre-test found results that were not good because many of the students did not understand numeric notation at all, but after that they were shown a video of reading material notation of numbers and then a post-test was carried out, the results were good. The students made progress after seeing the video. The conclusion of this study is to implement numeric notation in the song learning process, making it easier for students to memorize the material and making it easier for teachers in the process of conveying it, thus it is hoped that it can be a solution to the problems previously mentioned.

Abstract

Special needs education is a field of study that focuses on providing educational services to children with special needs who have learning and developmental challenges. The goal of this research is to combine mapping analysis with the VOSviewer app. The Publish or Perish application is used to find publications that are relevant to the keywords that have been entered. The term "Special Needs Education" was utilized in this study as a keyword. According to the search results, 400 relevant articles were published between 2017 and 2021. The number of publications published on "Special Needs Education" has declined every year, according to the research findings. This study should aid researchers in conducting and determining the research theme.
