Abstract

Globalization and the development of information and communication technology (ICT) have brought significant changes in the world of education. However, in learning certain subjects such as Fiqh, there are still challenges in increasing student interest and understanding due to less varied teaching methods and limited attractive learning media. This study aims to develop learning media based on Android educational games that integrate the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach to increase student engagement and understanding in learning Fiqh. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires to measure the effectiveness of the developed media. The analysis was conducted qualitatively and quantitatively to assess aspects of student engagement, concept understanding, and learning experience. The results showed that the Android-based educational game developed was able to increase students' learning motivation and help them understand Fiqh material better. The application of the PBL approach in this game allows students to engage in active problem solving, thus improving critical thinking and problem solving skills. In addition, the integration of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) model in the design of learning media maximizes students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze social stratification and marriage restrictions in the Angkola Batak community in Padang Sidempuan City. The focus of the research included the influence of historical factors on the social structure and norms governing marriage in the community. The research informants totaled 5 people, consisting of community leaders, traditional leaders, and family members involved in the marriage process. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques and participatory observation. The theory underlying this research is Max Weber's social stratification theory, which examines the relationship between social class, status and power in a cultural context. The research findings show that social stratification in the Angkola Batak community is strongly influenced by economic, educational and traditional factors. In addition, there are restrictions on marriage that are influenced by customary norms and beliefs rooted in the history of the Batak community. The novelty of this research lies in combining historical analysis with contemporary social studies that provide new insights into social dynamics in the Angkola Batak community. Limitations of the research include the relatively small number of informants and the possibility of subjective bias in data collection. This research is expected to serve as a basis for further research on social and cultural issues in the Angkola Batak community and other regions in Indonesia.

Abstract

The concept of virginity is often viewed as a valuable asset before marriage, which is highlighted in social discourse involving religion, culture, and morality. In patriarchal societies, female virginity is often considered a symbol of self-worth, while male virginity receives less attention. Women who engage in sexual intercourse for the first time often face social judgment and stigma, while their rights to understand and interpret their bodies are often ignored. This phenomenon reflects restrictions on women’s roles and rights within the social structure. This study aims to analyze how the value of virginity is perceived in traditional society, specifically in Kandangan Village, Trucuk Subdistrict, Bojonegoro District. Using Simone de Beauvoir's existentialist feminism theory as a theoretical framework, this research employs a descriptive-qualitative research method with data analysis from interviews, books, field notes, photos, and videos. The findings reveal that societal views on virginity play a significant role in reinforcing gender inequality, with women often facing social judgment and exclusion. Despite differing perspectives between religious leaders and the general public, the concept of virginity remains a symbol of injustice that disadvantages women.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms, patterns, and dynamics of peer interactions among eighth-grade students at Sinar Husni Helvetia Private Junior High School, and to analyze their impact on students' social and emotional development. The background of this study stems from the importance of peer relationships as a key factor in the formation of adolescents' social personality, especially in a school environment that is socially and culturally heterogeneous. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques that include participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research informants include eighth-grade students, homeroom teachers, subject teachers, and guidance counselors, who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with validation through source, technique, and time triangulation. The results of the study show that students' forms of social interaction include both associative interactions (cooperation, accommodation, and assimilation) and dissociative interactions (competition and contravention) at low intensity. Students' strategies in establishing and maintaining friendships are demonstrated through empathy, open communication, tolerance, and the ability to adapt to differences in friends' personalities. Positive interaction patterns are proven to influence increased self-confidence, adaptability, and emotional balance in students, while negative interactions, such as group exclusivity or teasing, can lead to social awkwardness and low self-esteem.
