Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman pengusaha UMKM dalam mengelola aspek halal dan keamanan pangan. Mitra yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini adalah UMKM Ikan Bakar di Rukun Tetangga 06, Perumahan Lingkar Permai, dengan jumlah mitra yang terlibat sebanyak 10 orang. Metode Pelaksanaan PKM ini adalah Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) atau penilaian secara partisipatif dan Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) atau proses belajar/praktik secara partisipatif. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta merasakan manfaat signifikan dari pelatihan yang diberikan. Sebanyak 95% responden sangat setuju bahwa materi pelatihan sangat bermanfaat dan relevan bagi usaha mereka, sementara 5% lainnya setuju. Selain itu, pelatihan ini membantu para peserta memahami proses produk halal secara mendalam dengan 90% responden sangat setuju dan 10% lainnya setuju. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan, 85% peserta merasa lebih siap untuk menerapkan aspek keamanan dalam pengolahan ikan bakar. Rekomendasi dari kegiatan ini adalah perlunya pelatihan lanjutan untuk memperdalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan pengusaha UMKM dalam aspek halal dan keamanan pangan. Diharapkan, program ini dapat meningkatkan daya saing UMKM di pasar lokal dan nasional serta membangun kepercayaan konsumen terhadap produk yang dihasilkan. Socialization of the Halal Product Process and Financial Aspects of Grilled Fish UMKM The objective of this Community Service Activity (PKM) was to enhance the knowledge and understanding of SMEs entrepreneurs in managing halal and food safety aspects. The partners involved in this activity were 10 SMEs specializing in grilled fish, located in Neighborhood Association 06, Lingkar Permai Housing. The PKM implementation method used Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) and Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approaches. The results indicated that the majority of participants experienced significant benefits from the training provided. Specifically, 95% of respondents strongly agreed that the training material was highly beneficial and relevant to their businesses, while the remaining 5% agreed. Moreover, the training helped participants gain an in-depth understanding of halal product processes, with 90% strongly agreeing and 10% agreeing. After the training, 85% of participants felt more prepared to implement safety aspects in their grilled fish processing. The recommendations from this activity include the necessity for further training to deepen the knowledge and skills of SMEs entrepreneurs in halal and food safety aspects. It is hoped that this program will enhance the competitiveness of SMEs in local and national markets and build consumer trust in the products produced

Abstract

The addition of activated charcoal to the cement matrix can increase the density and durability of the mortar. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of activated charcoal on the characteristics of composite mortar including compressive strength, density, and water absorption. Making mortar composite with the composition of activated charcoal to the weight of cement (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%), the ratio of cement and sand is 1: 3. The composition will be tested and analyzed for its effect on the compressive strength, density, and water absorption of mortar composite. The results showed that the addition of activated charcoal did not have a significant effect on the characteristics of mortar composite, except for the setting density. The addition of activated charcoal by 5% showed an optimal composition with a compressive strength value of 11.67 MPa, a setting density of 2092.91 kg / m3, an oven-dry density of 1853.93 kg / m3, and a water absorption of 15.20%

Abstract

This study aims to determine the morphological and growth characteristics of Eisenia foetida in response to mushroom waste media. Two types of mushroom waste media were used: straw mushroom media waste and oyster mushroom baglog waste. The research design was experimental, using quantitative methods and descriptive statistical analysis. The study observed parameters such as body length, body weight, skin color, population, and biomass of Eisenia foetida. The results showed significant differences in the growth and morphological characteristics of Eisenia foetida among the various media treatments. The oyster mushroom waste media with higher composition (80%) yielded better growth in terms of body weight and biomass compared to the straw mushroom waste media. Specifically, the treatment with 80% oyster mushroom waste and 20% straw mushroom waste (P3) showed the highest average body weight (17.13 g).  In conclusion, mushroom media waste, especially oyster mushroom baglog waste, supports the optimal morphological development and growth of Eisenia foetida. These findings suggest that oyster mushroom waste can be effectively utilized as a medium for cultivating Eisenia foetida, providing an environmentally friendly solution to organic waste management. Recommendations for future research include exploring other types of organic waste as potential media for Eisenia foetida cultivation and conducting long-term studies to evaluate the sustainability of such media.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama perendaman panas, perbandingan ekstrak daun bintaro dan interaksi keduanya terhadap nilai absorbsi, retensi dan penetrasi pada pengawetan bambu tali. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (RALF). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata absorbsi, retensi teoritis, retensi aktual dan penetrasi masing-masing bahan pengawet berkisar antara 0,62 gr/cm3 – 0,78 gr/cm3, 0,06 gr/cm3 – 0,16 gr/cm3, 0,004 gr/cm3 – 0,007 gr/cm3 dan 1,07 cm – 1,52 cm. Lama perendaman berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai absorbsi, retensi teoritis dan penetrasi bahan pengawet. Perbandingan bahan pengawet berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai retensi teoritis dan penetrasi bahan pengawet. Interaksi keduanya tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai absorbsi, retensi teoritis, retensi aktual dan penetrasi bahan pengawet.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan kotoran sapi terhadap kadar air beriket limbah baglog jamur tiram. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Eksperimen Murni. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan analisis data yang digunakan yaitu ANOVA (Analisis of variance) pada taraf signifikan 5% dan diuji lanjut menggunakan DMRT (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test), dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Kadar air yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini berkisar antara 2,73%-5,55%. Keseluruhan biobriket yang dihasilkan telah sesuai dengan SNI dimana kadar air pada biobriket menurut SNI (SNI 01-6235-2000) yaitu ≤ 8%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar air tidak berpengaruh pada pembuatan biobriket dengan menggunakan limbah baglog jamur tiram (0,05 > 0,05).

Abstract

This study aims to describe science teacher candidates’ perceptions of effect of entrepreneurship education and family environment on entrepreneur attitude and interest. This study is an exploratory research with 56 biology education students as respondents. The research instrument used was a closed questionnaire with degraded answers according to a Likert scale that had been validated by experts and declared valid. Analysis of research data used is descriptive quantitative statistics and inferential statistics with multiple linear regression test at a significance level of 5%. The results of the study show that ((1) perceptions of science teacher candidates towards entrepreneurship education have an average at 3.45 in good category, family environment at 2,73 in good category, entrepreneur attitude at 3,13 in good category, and entrepreneur interest at 3,08 in good category; (2) there is an effect of entrepreneurship learning and family environment on student entrepreneurial attitudes with a significance value of is smaller than the alpha testing value of 0,003 (<0,05); (3) there is an effect of entrepreneurship learning and family environment on entrepreneur interest with a significance value of 0.022 is smaller than the alpha testing value of 0,05 (<0,05); (4) entrepreneurship learning and family environment influence student entrepreneurial attitudes by 19,3% and the rest are influenced by variables or other factors; (5) entrepreneurship learning and family environment influence student entrepreneurial interest by 13,4% and the rest are influenced by variables or other factors.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of varying vegetable oil compositions (coconut, palm, and olive) on the physical and chemical qualities of solid soap, specifically in terms of hardness, cleansing ability, and moisture content. This study used a laboratory experiment with five soap formulas combining various vegetable oil compositions. The results showed that the formula with a combination of 60% coconut oil and 40% palm oil produced the soap with the highest hardness, while the formula with a combination of 60% coconut oil and 40% olive oil provided the best moisture content. The soap with a composition of 60% coconut oil and 40% palm oil also demonstrated better cleaning ability, thanks to the lauric acid content in coconut oil, which has antibacterial properties. This study recommends the use of a combination of coconut and palm oils to produce soap with the best quality in terms of hardness and cleansing ability, and coconut and olive oils for soap with greater skin moisturizing properties. It is hoped that this research will contribute to the development of the natural soap industry in Indonesia, reduce dependence on imported raw materials, and increase the competitiveness of natural soap products in the global market.

Abstract

Cangkang kemiri yang dikeringkan menggunakan oven dengan kontrol suhu dapat mengakibatkan penurunan kadar air secara efektif. Briket arang dari cangkang kemiri memiliki implikasi praktis yang nyata dan luas sebagai bahan bakar alternatif ramah lingkungan. Pada tingkat rumah tangga terutama di daerah sentra penghasil kemiri briket ini dapat berperan sebagai bahan bakar memasak yang lebih sehat untuk menggantikan kayu bakar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui karakteristik briket arang dari cangkang kemiri dengan metode pengeringan menggunakan oven dan mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi perekat molase terhadap kadar air, kadar abu dan nilai kalor briket arang berbahan cangkang kemiri dengan metode pengeringan menggunakan oven. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial yaitu konsentrasi perekat molase yang terdiri dari 5, 10, dan 15%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik briket arang dari cangkang kemiri dengan metode pengeringan menggunakan oven memiliki kadar air 5,47–7,01%, kadar abu 7,19–8,59% dan nilai kalor 5358,80–5558,47 kal/gr. Secara keseluruhan karakteristik briket arang telah memenuhi standar SNI 01-6235-2000, kecuali pada konsentrasi perekat 5 dan 15% untuk kadar abu. Konsentrasi perekat molase tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kadar air, kadar abu, namun memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai kalor. Utilization of Candlenut Shell Waste (Aleurites moluccana) into Environmentally Friendly Charcoal Briquettes Abstract Candlenut shells dried using an oven with temperature control can result in an effective reduction in moisture content. Charcoal briquettes derived from candlenut shells possess significant and wide-ranging practical implications as an environmentally friendly alternative fuel. At the household level, particularly in candlenut production centers, these briquettes can serve as a healthier cooking fuel substitute for traditional firewood. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of charcoal briquettes from candlenut shells with an oven drying method and to determine the effect of molasses adhesive concentration on moisture content, ash content and calorific value of charcoal briquettes made from candlenut shells with an oven drying method. This research method used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with molasses adhesive concentrations consisting of 5, 10, and 15%. The results showed that the characteristics of charcoal briquettes from candlenut shells with an oven drying method had a moisture content of 5.47–7.01%, ash content of 7.19–8.59% and a calorific value of 5358.80–5558.47 cal/gr. Overall, the characteristics of charcoal briquettes have met the SNI 01-6235-2000 standard, except for the adhesive concentration of 5 and 15% for ash content. The concentration of molasses adhesive does not have a significant effect on moisture content, ash content, but has a significant effect on calorific value.

Abstract

The population of ajang kelicung wood (Diospyros macrophylla) is increasingly threatened by escalating pressures on forest resources. The primary threats stem from human activities, including illegal logging, land conversion, and environmental degradation. This study aims to assess the population of Diospyros macrophylla in the BKPH Sejorong Mataiyang area. The method employed was cluster sampling technique, utilizing 10 sample plots each measuring 100 m × 100 m. The parameters measured in this study included branch-free height, diameter, and total height of all Diospyros macrophylla trees across a 200 ha area. The results revealed that, out of the ten observed plots, Diospyros macrophylla was present in only six. A total of 103 individuals were recorded in these six plots, whereas the remaining four plots lacked any population of this species due to conversion into agricultural land by local communities. This conversion was facilitated by the area's designation as limited production forest in Desa Talonang Baru, which permits land utilization. Further vegetation analysis indicated that the relative density of this species was 10.32%, falling into the low category; however, it exhibited a very high relative frequency of 107%. The combination of these values yielded an Importance Value Index (INP) of 117.32%, signifying a high ecological role for Diospyros macrophylla despite its quantitatively sparse population.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of lecturers at the Faculty of Culture, Management, and Business, Mandalika University of Education, in writing quality community service articles through the use of artificial intelligence technology, specifically ChatGPT and Scite.ai. The method used was an interactive workshop based on direct practice, equipped with a pre-test, delivery of theoretical materials, practice using AI, post-test, and reflection sessions. The analysis results showed a significant increase in post-test scores compared to the pre-test, with the majority of participants' N-gain being in the medium to high category. Participants were also able to produce draft community service articles with good to very good quality categories based on the assessment rubric. The level of participant satisfaction with the materials, methods, and implementation of the workshop was in the high category, indicating the success of the training approach used. This activity also contributed to the achievement of the SDGs, especially the goals of Quality Education (SDG 4), Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Partnership (SDG 17). This training can be replicated as a model for increasing lecturer capacity in the context of digital transformation of higher education.
