Abstract

It is necessary to choose the right planting media for vegetable cultivation with a fertigation system. Modification of growing media at various intervals of nutrition can be recommended. The study aimed to 1) analyze the interaction effect of the modification of planting media at various intervals of nutrition on the growth and yield of belinjan tomatoes in the fertigation system, 2) analyze single the effect of each treatment, 3) determine the best combination of treatment. This research was conducted in a greenhouse by using a pot through the treatment of a Split Plot Design. The first factor as the main plot is the interval of nutrition (B) consisting of 3 levels: b1 (3 times a day), b2 (5 times a day), and b3 (7 times a day) and the second factor as a sub-plot is the modification of planting media (A) the ratio of burnt husks: manure: cocopeat the ratio consists of 4 levels: a0 (burnt husk), a1 (2:1:1), a2 (1:2:1), and a3 (1:1) 1:2). The results showed that there was an interaction effect of treatment on the main plot and sub-plots at intervals of nutrition and modification of planting media on the variable of Brix level of belinjan tomato. The single factor of modification of the planting media affected the average number of fruits per bunch, the relative growth rate of 59-73 days after planting and the root shoots ratio. Combination of treatment 7 times per day of the interval level of nutrition with 100% of the burnt husk media resulted in tomato Brix levels at an average level of (5.70) better than other combinations.

Abstract

One of the policies of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia related to the contribution in reducing the effect of greenhouse gases is to terminate or discontinue the construction permit for coal-fired Steam Power Plants, which will begin gradually in 2025. This policy is considered difficult to implement, because there are still many Coal Power Plant that are still operating in accordance with the permits issued by the Government. So in addition to the policy of retiring coal-fired power plants, the Government has implemented a policy of Co-firing Power Plant innovation for better environmental management and supporting sustainable development goals. Coal Power Plant PT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa (MSW) in South Kalimantan will implement the Power Plant Co-Firing policy. This study aims to analyze the amount of power plant greenhouse gas emissions so far, then project the amount of emissions until 2030 with the treatment of coal-fired power plants and co-firing power plants, and calculate the carbon uptake of plants in reforestation areas at PT MSW Power Plant. The method used is the data collection and calculation of Green House Gas Emissions (GHG) produced so far and then simulated calculations using waste pellets as co-firing fuel, using the 2006 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines approach method. The calculation results The GHG emission is projected until 2030 using the Auto- Regressive Moving Average (ARIMA) method. The GHG emissions produced by the Power Plant are compared with the company's efforts so far by planting trees in the reforestation area of the PLTU. To assess these efforts, an evaluation of the GHG emissions produced by the ability of reforestation plants to absorb CO2 emissions has been carried out so far. The results of the study obtained that the GHG Emissions of the PT MSW Power Plant in 2021 amounted to 156,436 tons / year. From the results of data projections obtained for the next 9 years (until 2030) the results of gas emissions will decrease every year. Theresults of the inventory and estimation of the absorption capacity of plants in the reforestation area of PT MSW Power Plant with an area of 30,535.12 m², is 3,820.5 tons/year and carbon absorbed is 103.86 tons. With a total number of tree plants, an inventory of 2,764 trees was carried out.

Abstract

Climate change results from global warming, caused by increasing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, especially CO2 (carbon dioxide). This increase cannot be separated from the excessive use of fossil fuels such as oil and coal in the energy sector. In addition, mining can cause environmental damage, such as reduced air and water quality, and exacerbate future climate change. Renewable energy can be a solution to meet electrical energy needs by minimizing the impact it causes. Solar energy is one environmentally friendly source of renewable energy that will never run out. An analysis of climate change and the potential for solar energy has been carried out in this study. Data processing results for the last 30 years (1992-2021) show that climate change has occurred in the monsoon region. This is marked by a significant increase in the annual average temperature trend and an increase in extreme minimum temperature events until 2021. Based on the results of the projection of solar energy potential using the RCP4.5 scenario for the monsoon region until 2050 of 4.56-5.03 kWh/m2.day with homogeneous data distribution.

Abstract

The research was conducted in Bunati Village which is located in Tanah Bumbu Regency. The research method used is quantitative. Data collection was carried out by measuring the levels of TSP, CO, and Fe in clean water at 3 research locations in Bunati Village and measuring public health using a respiratory disorder questionnaire, a skin disease questionnaire, and peripheral oxygen saturation. The results of the analysis of the levels of TSP, CO, and Fe in clean water at 3 research location points showed that they were below the environmental quality standards with TSP values (µg/Nm3) : (1) 38 (II) 41 (III) 77, CO (ppm): 115, and Fe of clean water (mg/L): 0.018. The results of the respiratory disorder questionnaire showed that an average of 67.74% of the people indicated respiratory problems, while for SpO2 the average community was 97.4% and for complaints related to skin diseases from 93 respondents there were no people who complained of skin diseases. Pearson correlation test results between TSP levels and respiratory disorders are above the value of α (0.061), which means there is no relationship between TSP levels and respiratory disorders, as well as CO and SpO2 as well as Fe levels in well water and skin disorders also show no results. significant relationship. An alternative solution to the problem that can be done is the company can use technology such as Automatic Water Sprinkle by installing HDPE pipes in the Port concession area. This study concluded that the results of the analysis of the quality of the environment in Bunati Village indicated that it was in good condition. Based on the results of measurements of TSP, CO, and Fe in water all are still below environmental quality standards, which means that the coal port activity has no significant impact on the environment and the people of Bunati Village.

Abstract

Sebangau National Park, in Central Kalimantan Province, is a wetland conservation area. In 2015, forest and land fires resulted in 455 hectares being burned. The identification of hotspots in this study is based on the number and distribution of hotspots based on satellite imagery data from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) in 2001–2020. This study identifies hotspots by looking at the influence of rainfall and ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) conditions. The method used is the method of spatial and temporal analysis. The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of the hotspot distribution pattern in Sebangau National Park, Central Kalimantan Province, both spatially and temporally. There is a similarity between the temporal and spatial characteristics of hotspots in the number of significant additions to the number of hotspots in August, September, and October. The influence of monsoonal rainfall types and climates such as ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) greatly influences the occurrence of hotspot events in Sebangau National Park, Central Kalimantan Province. The distribution pattern of hotspots in Sebangau National Park, Central Kalimantan Province, peaked in October, and the worst addition to the number of hotspots occurred in 2015, when these conditions occurred during the dry season and when the ENSO index (El Nino Southern Oscillation) showed +2.6, where these conditions included strong El Nino categories.

Abstract

South Kalimantan is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has a high risk of flood disasters seen from its physical condition, which geographically is mostly located below sea level. In 2021, 11 out of a total of 13 districts and cities in South Kalimantan were affected by flooding on a large scale, which caused tens of thousands of residents to suffer losses and even lost family members. IBFWS (Impact Base Forecast and Warning Services) is present as the latest innovation from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency as an impact-based weather forecast information service. To determine the accuracy of the IBFWS service information, it is necessary to validate the prediction results issued by IBFWS with the actual situation. By using spatial analysis methods, it is hoped that it can describe which areas are potentially affected by flooding and continued with the calculation of the contingency table so that the accuracy value of IBFWS is obtained in predicting areas potentially affected by flooding in South Kalimantan. IBFWS validation results in predicting areas potentially affected by flooding in South Kalimantan during the rainy season range between 0.85 – 1.00 which mean 85% - 100% the IBFWS prediction results are correct, during the transition season in general is 0.77 which mean 77% the IBFWS prediction results are correct, and during the dry season it ranges between 0.92 – 1.00 which mean 92% - 100% the IBFWS prediction results are correct.

Abstract

The Banjarbaru administrative status has changed from an Administrative City to a City, and in 2022 become the Provincial Capital. Population growth and infrastructure/building development due to these changes may affect environmental changes. A significant increase in air temperature against its normal due to environmental changes can trigger climate change. Urban Heat Island (UHI) is a phenomenon recognized by the higher temperature conditions in urban areas compared to surrounding areas. UHI identification is known by calculating the difference in Land Surface Temperature (LST) values using remote sensing (satellite data). An increase in the value of LST in an area can trigger the appearance of UHI and make the environment less comfortable. The LST value is also related to population, vegetation, residential areas, and built-up land. Thermal Humidity Index (THI) is an index used to determine comfort level based on temperature and humidity conditions. This study aims to analyze spatiotemporal changes in UHI phenomena in the Banjarbaru area during three administrative status periods (1998 - 2022) and its effect on the comfortable index. This study uses Landsat satellite data (consist Visible, Near Infrared, and Thermal Bands) and Relative Humidity (RH) from 2 weather stations in Banjarbaru. The result shows that the distribution of UHI in the Banjarbaru City area increases around industrial areas, settlements, government centers, and along arterial roads that are open land without trees. In general, the Banjarbaru area experienced an increase in the comfort index. Initial conditions belonging to the comfortable and less comfortable classes changed to become less comfortable to uncomfortable, especially in the North Banjarbaru sub-district and around Syamsudin Noor Airport ( Landasan Ulin sub-district).
