Abstract

The food crisis is a condition when acute food hazards and net malnutrition increase sharply. One reason is due to a slowdown in food production. In 1627, a new farming method was known, called hydroponics, namely the method of growing with the help of water. After further investigation, it was found that the cultivation method with water will eventually produce plants that are as good as plants grown using soil media. Therefore, this research will explore the benefits of using hydroponic media in leek cultivation. In this study, there were two containers, the first container was not subject to the application of pesticides, while the second container was watered with onion peel vegetable pesticides twice a week. The results of the leek planting experiment in the hydroponic system and media showed that the maximum height achieved by the leek plants tested was as high as 22.8 cm, and only 3 out of 17 total plants died.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a teaching material in the form of a textbook based on the local wisdom of tuak, integrated with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, for the topic of reaction rates in Grade XI MIA-2 at SMA Methodist-An Pancur Batu. The development model used in this study is the 4D model. The 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) is a systematic approach commonly used in instructional development to produce high-quality learning products. Based on the analysis, it was found that SMA Methodist-An Pancur Batu has implemented the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) at Phase F, but has not yet incorporated local wisdom into the learning process. Moreover, the textbooks previously used did not apply the PBL approach. In this study, a reaction rate textbook based on the local wisdom of tuak was developed in accordance with the Independent Curriculum, including Learning Outcomes (CP), Learning Objective Flow (ATP), and strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. Validation results showed that the material expert's assessment obtained an average score of 3.83, while the media expert's score was 3.68—both categorized as valid and requiring no revision. Teacher responses to the developed textbook reached 95% (very good), while student responses were 93.3% (very good). Thus, this textbook is considered feasible and effective for use as a learning resource that incorporates local wisdom and is integrated with the Problem-Based Learning model in chemistry education at school

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakeri kombinasi ekstrak secang dan jahe. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan terhadap dua bakteri yaitu bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus, meliputi uji difusi cakram kertas, penentuan minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) dan minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) dengan metode mikrodilusi. Pengujian ini menggunakan perbandingan ekstrak 1:1, 1:2 serta 2:1. Kombinasi ekstrak secang dan jahe memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap kedua bakteri uji terlihat dengan munculnya zona beningnya. Aktivitas antibakteri yang kuat terhadap bakteri E. coli ditunjukkan oleh kombinasi ekstrak secang dan jahe pada perbandingan 1:1 dengan nilai MIC 39,6 μg/ml sedangkan pada bakteri S. aureus ditunjukkan oleh kombinasi ekstrak secang dan jahe dengan perbandingan 2:1 dengan nilai MIC 78,1 μg/ml.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing Android-based interactive multimedia on learning outcomes and student motivation at SMA Negeri 1 Binjai, Langkat Regency. The method used in this research is the descriptive quantitative research method. The data collection instruments used in this study were questionnaires (questionnaires) and tests. The data analysis technique used in this research is a quantitative descriptive analysis using the one-sample t-test formula and correlation test. The learning outcomes of students who are taught using Android-based interactive multimedia obtained by students are higher than the KKM value set at school, which is 75, with an average value of student learning outcomes of 86.91 and a sig. = 0.000 0.05 from the results of the one-sample t-test conducted. The results of the student's motivation towards android-based interactive multimedia obtained an average percentage of 87.57 in the highly motivated category. Motivation and learning outcomes of students have a positive relationship with a very strong strength with the obtained Pearson Correlation value of 0.941 and a coefficient of determination of 88.5%.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan media pembelajaran berupa e-modul pada materi laju reaksi yang terintegrasi dengan kearifan lokal suku Batak Toba melalui makanan tradisional dekke naniura dengan menggunakan model problem based learning. Analisis kebutuhan dilakukan berdasarkan tahapan pertama dari model ADDIE yaitu (Analyst) atau analisis. Subjek dan Metode: Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui studi literatur dan studi lapangan di SMA Negeri 18 Medan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan satu guru kimia, dan angket kebutuhan siswa yang diberikan kepada 30 siswa dalam bentuk Google Form. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekolah belum memiliki program khusus dalam mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal ke dalam pembelajaran kimia. Integrasi budaya lokal hanya dilakukan dalam proyek Profil Pelajar Pancasila kelas X dan belum mendorong pengembangan kemampuan berpikir siswa. Pembelajaran kimia di sekolah masih didominasi oleh metode ceramah, dengan pemanfaatan media video yang terbatas serta pelaksanaan kegiatan praktikum yang belum optimal. Selain itu, e-modul belum digunakan karena pendekatan pembelajaran belum menyesuaikan dengan minat, motivasi, dan kemampuan siswa. Kondisi ini menjadikan proses pembelajaran monoton, kurang bermakna, dan berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan berpikir serta pemahaman siswa terhadap penerapan konsep kimia dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, sebanyak 73,5% siswa membutuhkan bahan ajar berupa e-modul, dan 94,1% siswa setuju untuk melakukan pengembangan e-modul materi laju reaksi kearifan lokal suku Batak Toba sebagai salah satu alternatif penunjang proses pembelajaran kimia. Kesimpulan: Siswa membutuhkan bahan ajar tambahan dalam pembelajaran, dan menyetujui pengembangan e-modul materi laju reaksi berbasis kearifan lokal suku Batak Toba sebagai alternatif bahan ajar yang dinilai lebih relevan, kontekstual, dan mampu meningkatkan motivasi serta pemahaman siswa terhadap materi kimia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of Grade XI SMA/MA chemistry textbooks, aligning with the standards set by the National Standards Agency for Education (BSNP). This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, specifically the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results indicate that the textbooks scored: 3.37 for content validity, 3.87 for language, 3.85 for presentation, and 3.69 for graphics, categorizing them as highly valid.
