Abstract

Developing Kaulinan Barudak as a Cultural Attraction Based on Traditional Music to Enhance West Java TourismAbstractKaulinan Barudak is a traditional children’s game from West Java that incorporates elements of traditional music and local songs. This cultural art form not only represents local wisdom but also holds significant potential in strengthening cultural identity and enhancing tourism appeal. However, its existence is currently declining due to a lack of innovation, decreasing public interest, and insufficient efforts to package it as a cultural tourism attraction. Therefore, this study aims to develop Kaulinan Barudak as a cultural tourism attraction based on traditional music to enhance the appeal and value of tourist destinations in West Java. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with cultural practitioners, local artists, and tourism managers, as well as literature studies to explore the historical, aesthetic, and commercial potential of this traditional art. Data analysis was carried out using a descriptive-interpretative approach to understand how the revitalization of Kaulinan Barudak can be integrated into sustainable cultural tourism development strategies. The findings indicate that the revitalization of Kaulinan Barudak can be achieved through several strategic approaches, including the organization of annual cultural festivals involving local communities, interactive training programs for younger generations, workshops on traditional music and games, and the use of social media as a platform for publication and promotion. Furthermore, creatively packaging the attraction—such as combining Kaulinan Barudak with more dynamic traditional music performances—can add significant appeal for both domestic and international tourists. These results suggest that revitalizing Kaulinan Barudak not only strengthens local cultural identity but also significantly contributes to enhancing cultural tourism appeal in West Java. Implementing this strategy requires the involvement of various stakeholders, including local governments, cultural communities, and tourism actors, to ensure the sustainability and success of this art form as a high-value tourism asset. Thus, Kaulinan Barudak has the potential to become a cultural tourism icon of West Java, attracting tourists while promoting local wisdom on the global stage. Keywords: Kaulinan Barudak; traditional music; cultural tourism; revitalization of art; cultural identity; West Java

Abstract

Teachers play a vital role in the education system because they are the ones who are actually responsible for educating students in the classroom. To a large extent, student achievement and teacher satisfaction determine the quality of education. The quality of learning and student learning outcomes are directly influenced by the level of motivation of instructors, which in turn influences their level of enthusiasm when carrying out their duties. With this study, we will better understand how the principals of Tunjungseto Elementary School can inspire their teachers to do their best work. The primary methods of qualitative data collection for this study were interviews, participant observation, and written notes. The study showed that the involvement of the principal in providing ongoing guidance, incentives, and support has a significant impact on the growth of teacher motivation to perform well. Good principals know what they are doing when it comes to encouraging professional development for teachers and cultivating a fun workplace. Motivating teachers to do their best work is an area where principals can make a big difference. To foster an atmosphere that supports teacher professional development, principals must offer clear guidance, inspiration, and ongoing support. If para-administrators are successful in making teachers feel valued and supported in their work, it will show in their motivation and performance in the classroom. How effective principals are in inspiring their staff to perform well depends on a number of factors, including consistent and clear communication, support from management, and adequate resources. Schools with principals who can foster an environment of open communication and who are willing to support improvements in school facilities tend to be happier.

In addition to transformational leadership, a deep understanding of the curriculum is crucial for teachers in carrying out their duties. Work motivation is also a key factor that contributes to improving teacher performance. This study examines the relationship between school culture, transformational leadership, and teacher performance in the Special Sports Class (KKO) in Bantul Regency at the junior high school level. This study uses a quantitative survey method involving 114 teachers from five Special Sports Class (KKO) schools at the junior high school level in Bantul Regency. Data collection was carried out using a Likert-based questionnaire, and data analysis was carried out using SmartPLS to test the relationship between the variables studied. The results of the study indicate that work motivation has a significant effect on teacher performance.Meanwhile, transformational leadership and curriculum understanding do not have a significant direct effect on teacher performance. However, school culture is a mediator that strengthens the relationship between these variables and teacher performance. The implications of this study provide practical insights for policymakers in the field of education, especially in developing strategies to improve the effectiveness of principal leadership and create a school environment that supports teacher professional growth. Principals are expected to adopt a more effective transformational leadership style by providing teachers with support, inspiration, and intellectual stimulation. In addition, strengthening a positive school culture through cooperation, communication, and appreciation of teacher achievement is a strategic step to improve teacher motivation and overall performance.

Abstract

Education is a learning process that involves acquiring knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes. The formal form of education in schools provides students with an organized structure and curriculum. The components of national education include the environment, facilities and infrastructure, resources, and society. These components collaborate, establish connections and aid in accomplishing educational objectives. Teachers, and their potential, play a crucial role in the realm of education. The psychological potential of teachers in teaching and learning activities plays a role in improving their teaching. This study aims to evaluate and analyze the effect of using Prezi as a learning medium on the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities at SMK Negeri 1 Girisubo. We collected data using a descriptive qualitative approach, which included interviews, direct observations in class, and document analysis. The results showed that using Prezi significantly increased student engagement, understanding of the material, and learning motivation. Prezi's dynamic and interactive visual displays helped students focus more and understand complex materials better. Despite challenges such as the need for adequate technological infrastructure and additional time for preparation, teachers felt that Prezi provided flexibility and creativity in compiling learning materials. We expect schools with similar characteristics to adopt these practical recommendations for improving the use of Prezi in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The high unemployment rate in Indonesia may be attributed to the mismatch between the competencies possessed by the workforce and the competencies required by the labor market, as well as the limited availability of job opportunities to accommodate all school graduates entering the workforce. Implementing a teaching factory management strategy is meant to improve vocational school graduates' skills to meet business and industry needs, making the Indonesian workforce more competitive. The teaching factory management functions are implemented and organized based on partnerships between vocational schools and industries, particularly those in the surrounding areas, through planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision stages. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design. Data collection techniques include participant observation, in-depth interviews, document analysis, and triangulation. The teaching factory management strategy at SMK Negeri 1 Godean has successfully improved students' work readiness by integrating academic learning with real-world industrial practices. Data indicates a significant increase in the absorption of graduates into the workforce, with the percentage of graduates directly employed rising from 29.5% in 2021 to 49.9% in 2023. Close collaboration with industry partners and developing an industry-relevant curriculum have played a critical role in this achievement. Furthermore, SMK Negeri 1 Godean also equips students with entrepreneurial skills, increasing graduates pursuing entrepreneurship from 1.6% in 2021 to 9.3% in 2023.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' attitudes towards maintaining local wisdom through gardening activities, namely planting aloe vera as part of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). Local wisdom is a cultural asset passed down from generation to generation and is the identity of a region. Therefore, understanding and implementing local wisdom in everyday life is very important for students. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected by conducting direct observations of gardening activities, interviews with accompanying teachers and students, and documentation of various activities during planting and caring for aloe vera. The study found that gardening practices effectively instill local knowledge values in children. This exercise teaches students the basics of farming and helps them develop positive characteristics such as responsibility, discipline, and environmental concern. Students are accustomed to carrying out their duties according to a predetermined schedule, caring for plants with great attention, and working with friends in caring for plants.Furthermore, this exercise fosters a love of nature and increases students' knowledge of the importance of environmental conservation. This practical learning method helps students realize the importance of preserving and using local cultural activities based on local wisdom, such as gardening, which can be an excellent strategy for character development and preservation of local culture.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in improving leadership effectiveness at SMK YPKK 2 Sleman. Resource managers and decision-makers face more complex problems in the digital era. As a result, it is necessary to have a proper plan to ensure that the available technology allows for fast and accurate decision-making. Optimizing time management, data analysis for smarter decision-making, and communication and coordination are just some of the challenges that principals can overcome with new solutions offered by AI. A qualitative approach was used in this study, which involved conducting in-depth interviews, observing participants, and analyzing relevant documents. This study found that AI can be very beneficial for school administration by automating administrative tasks, improving data-based insights, and generally improving leadership performance. However, there are also obstacles in implementing AI, including issues of technology readiness, human resource competency, and school culture adaptation to digital transformation. In order to be more creative in managing technology-based school management, this study recommends that principals and staff receive training and improve their talents. We can optimize AI to build adaptive and responsive leadership to the dynamics of today's education with better technical and human resource readiness.
