Abstract

Immunization is an effort to increase a person's immune system to avoid disease. Complete basic immunization coverage in 2018-2022 at the Ba'a Community Health Center experienced a significant decline and tended to be low so that it did not reach the 90% strategic plan target. The purpose of this study was to identify events related to the achievement of complete basic immunization coverage for infants at the Ba'a Community Health Center. The type of research used was quantitative with a cross-sectional study design. The age of the infants in this study ranged from 10-12 months, and the respondents were mothers of infants residing in the Ba'a Community Health Center work area. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, a sample of 72 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using the chi-square test. The test results show that there is a relationship with a sufficient level of correlation between the variables of knowledge (0.018; r = 0.343), attitude (0.004; r = 0.384), distance (0.010; r = 0.340) and family support (0.026; r = 0.322), with the completeness of basic immunization in infants, while the support of health workers has a very weak level of correlation (0.554; r = 0.118) so that there is insufficient evidence to accept that there is a relationship between the support of health workers and the completeness of basic immunization in infants. It is recommended that the husband/family be willing to accompany the mother to the immunization site and provide motivation for the mother.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a non-communicable disease that causes high morbidity and mortality, thus requiring proper and serious handling and treatment efforts. Data from the Kupang City Health Office shows that the Oesapa Community Health Center is the community health center with the highest cases of DM in Kupang City with a low achievement of 65.4% of the Oesapa Community Health Center's target of 100%. This study aims to determine the implementation of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for diabetes mellitus patients at the Oesapa Community Health Center in Kupang City in 2024. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study with 6 informants using a purposive technique. The results of the study indicate that input elements in the aspect of human resource availability have met the standards, sufficient funds, BMHP and medicines are available and examination tools such as glucometer tests are available. The service method provided is in accordance with the SOP. The market or target is in accordance with service standards, monitoring and evaluation are running well. The implementation of SPM at Oesapa Health Center has not reached 100% due to uneven training, unavailability of insulin, inconsistency of patients in conducting routine check-ups at Oesapa Health Center and late reporting from health posts due to low awareness of officers and busy daily services so that they do not input data on time. Therefore, the researcher suggests that the health center improve training for health workers, increase patient awareness through education, and establish a routine reporting schedule.

Abstract

Background: Hospitals are institutions that provide comprehensive individual health services. To ensure quality and continuous improvement of these services, hospitals are guided by regulations issued by the Ministry of Health. One key indicator of service quality is patient waiting time at outpatient clinics. Objectives: This study aims to explore several factors affecting service quality at the outpatient polyclinic of RSUD S.K. Lerik, Kupang. These factors include response time of health and non-health workers, hospital budget allocation, worker competence, availability of essential documents, and the overall service flow mechanism. Methods: This qualitative study applied a management theory approach and was conducted at RSUD S.K. Lerik, Kupang. Data were collected from eight informants selected through purposive sampling. Results: The Results of the study showed that that although the response time of health and non-health workers and the availability of service flow mechanisms are relatively good, there are still several challenges. The number of personnel remains limited, and there is no specific budget allocated to the outpatient clinic; instead, needs are recorded and submitted to hospital management. Equipment and materials such as computers and network systems are available, but often insufficient, especially in urgent situations. Despite these limitations, the flow of services generally proceeds without major delays. Conclusions: It is recommended that hospital officers ensure timely service delivery according to established standards to minimize patient waiting times. Improving the management system and increasing attention to service response time in outpatient clinics can help enhance the quality, safety, and comfort of healthcare services provided.
