Abstract

Abstract  This study focused  on the scope of the problem in kinship and non-kinship greetings. This study aimd to describe the greetings of kinship based on blood relations, marital relations and non-kinship greetings in Bugis language in Wajok Hilir, Siantan district, Mempawah Regency. The method used in this study was the method The source of data in this study was the text of the informant's conversation. The technique used was the technique of referring to proficient involvement, fishing techniques and documentary studies. The tool used study was a list of questions, record instruments and stationery. The results of the study concluded that there were 32 Bugis language greetings derived from text through informant conversations. The greeting of blood relations was classified as the greeting of the nuclear family and the greeting of the extended family. Greetings of marital relations can be classified as greetings to husbands by wives, wives by husbands, parents of husbands/ wives, relatives of husbands or children, husbands or wives of in-laws, parents-in-law and children of older brothers/ sisters Non-friendship greetings are classified into greetings in the profession, in religion, positions, customs, older people, younger people, peers, unknown people, newborn babies and greetings for people who have died. Keywords: Extended Family,Greetings, Kinship, Nuclear family, Social Relations

Abstract

AbstractThe research of interrogative sentence in Dayak Kanayatn Language is a syntaxis study conducted at Bolat Village, Sampuro, Mempawah Hulu District of Landak Regency. The discussion in this study was delimited into three subdivisions, namely features, syntaxis structures, and the form of text negotiating text supplement in DKL. This study aimed to determine the characteristics, syntaxis structures, and the negotiating text supplement in DKL. The method used in this study was descriptive with the form of qualitative research. The data was collected using cakap semuka, recording, and notetaking techniques. The data collection instrument used were interview guidelines, recorders, and notes. According to the research, there were six features of interrogative sentences in DKL: an interrogative sentence with a question mark, an interrogative sentence based on sentence focus and question mark, an interrogative sentence without question mark, alternative interrogative sentence, negative interrogative sentence, and embroidered question sentence. There are fourteen interrogative sentence structures with question marks, four based on sentence focus and question marks, fifteen structures without question marks, eleven structures of an alternative interrogative sentence, ten structures of a negative interrogative sentence, and five structures of an embroidered interrogative sentence.Keywords: Features, Structures, Interrogative Sentences, Dayak Kanayatn

Abstract

This research was conducted by analyzing the news to describe the framing of demonstration and court of Bayan sales case news from kalbar.antaranews.com and suarapemredkalbar.com. The research approach method is a descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The data sources of this research are the websites Antaranews Kalbar and Suara Pemred Kalbar. The research method is document analysis. There were 15 news articles analyzed. This research found that Antaranews Kalbar frames their news by two perspectives from Jum sides and law enforcer. Meanwhile, Suara Pemred Kalbar frames their news humanistically by Jum sides and they show the effort of Jum sides with Sambas Government to give him legal assistance.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the culinary vocabulary in the Dayak Bakati' language. The culinary vocabulary was studied in the form of vocabulary, lexical meaning, grammatical meaning, cultural meaning, and implementation of Indonesian language learning. The method used in this research is descriptive. The form of research is qualitative. Sources of data are native speakers of the Dayak Bakati' tribe and research data are traditional food and drinks. Data collection techniques are listening techniques, speaking techniques, note-taking techniques, and recording techniques. This study resulted in 62 traditional Dayak Bakati' Subah culinary vocabularies with the classification of 35 vocabularies for staple food, 5 for drinks, 7 for snacks, 10 for making ingredients, and 5 for the manufacturing process. 20 monomorphemic vocabularies of staple foods, 4 vocabularies of drinks, 5 vocabularies of snacks, 8 vocabularies of ingredients, polymorphemics in the form of food 11 vocabularies of staple foods, 2 vocabularies for drinks, 4 vocabularies in the form of affixes, and 3 forms of Indonesian language learning texts based on traditional culinary vocabulary in the Dayak Bakati language, it produces learning texts, namely procedure texts.Keywords: Vocabulary, Catering, Traditional, Dayak Bakati' Subah

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the terminology of traditional medicine 'Barai' in the Bekambae Dayak community. This study mainly discussed the terminology, the word class, lexical meaning, grammatical meaning, cultural meaning, and implementation of traditional medicine 'Barai' on the Bekambe Dayak community towards teaching and learning instruction. The method used in this research is descriptive in the form of qualitative. Data collection techniques applied were observation, interview, note-taking, and recording. Overall, 152 data on the terminology of traditional medicine 'Barai' in the Bekambae Dayak community consist of 8 data in terms of tools, 25 data on materials, 23 data on cultural objects, 6 data on disease names, 5 data on perpetrators, 11 data on taboo terms, and 74 data on stages. The word class consists of 57 data on monomorphemic, 7 data on polymorphemic, 30 data on phrases, 18 data on compound words, and 2 data on reduplication. The meanings contained in the terminology of traditional medicine 'Barai' in the Bekambae Dayak community consist of 152 data on lexical, 40 data on grammatical, and 148 data on cultural meanings. The results of the research were implemented into the Indonesian language instruction in the form of a descriptive text.Keywords: Terminology, Traditional Medicine, Barai, Bekambae Dayak Community.

Abstract

AbstractIn this context, the researcher analyzed idiom in Pontianak Dialect Malay. This study was focused on the scope of problems in forms, types, meanings, and functions of idiom in Pontianak Dialect Malay. This study was aimed to describe the forms, types, meanings, and functions of idiom in Pontianak Dialect Malay. Qualitative descriptive method is used as a form of research. The data used are texts from recorded interviews, the video of Pontianak dialect Malay language, and textbooks. Data collection techniques used are listening, recording, note-taking, and documentary study techniques. Data collection tools in this study are a list of questions, record tools, and stationery. The findings show that idiom is divided into two forms: mono-morphemes and poly-morphemes. Poly-morphemes is classified into affixation, reduplication, compounding, and phrase. The types of idiom are classified into full and partial idiom. The meaning of the idiom is a figurative meaning differed from its lexical meaning elements in the context of the sentence. Lastly, the functions of idiom were analyzed based on the functions in sentences, and in social contexts. Keywords: forms,  function of idiom, meaning,  type

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bentuk-bentuk kebahasaan yang dipilih dalam berkomunikasi antara penjual dan pembeli di Tuba Pasak, Kecamatan Teriak, Kabupaten Bengkayang, dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi pilihan bentuk-bentuk kebahasaan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif dalam bidang sosiolinguistik dengan metode pengumpulan datanya adalah pengamatan observasi (berperan serta), rekaman, dan wawancara. Terkait analisis data menggunakan pendektaan kontekstual-sosiolinguistik.  Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bentuk-bentuk kebahasaan yang dipilih dalam berkomunikasi antara penjul dan pembeli terdiri atas (a) bahasa Dayak Bakati dan (b) bahasa Indonesia. Bahasa yang paling dominan digunakan adalah bahasa Dayak Bakati. Bahasa Indonesia digunakan dalam pertuturan di kalangan masyarakat pasar Tuba Pasak tersebut hanya untuk bercampur bentuk bahasa Indonesia dalam bahasa Dayak Bakati. Bentuk yang berwujud tingkat tutur tidak digunakan secara ketat. Bahkan, terjadi pencampuradukan tingkat tutur. Bentuk yang berwujud ragam (style) dibedakan atas dua, yaitu ragam lengkap (elaborated code) dan ragam ringkas (restricted code). Hampir semua peristiwa tutur menggunakan ragam ringkas (restricted code). Hanya sedikit sekali ditemukan adanya penggunaan ragam lengkap. Kemudian faktor-faktor yang menentukan pemilihan bahasa yang dilakukan oleh Pj dan Pb di Tuba Pasak meliputi: (1) status sosial, (2) usia, (3) tingkat keakraban, (4) tujuan tutur, dan (5) pokok tutur.Kata Kunci: Pemilihan Bahasa, Dayak Bakati, Kode Bahasa ABSTRACTThis study aims to uncover the forms of language chosen in communication between sellers and buyers in Tuba Pasak, Teriak District, Bengkayang Regency, and the factors that influence the choice of these language forms. This research uses a descriptive approach in the field of sociolinguistics with data collection methods including participant observation, recordings, and interviews. The data analysis approach is contextual-sociolinguistic. The results of this study show that the forms of language chosen for communication between sellers and buyers consist of (a) Dayak Bakati language and (b) Indonesian language. The most dominant language used is Dayak Bakati. Indonesian is used in conversations within the Tuba Pasak market community only in a mixed form with Dayak Bakati. The use of speech levels is not strictly applied, and there is even mixing of speech levels. The forms of style are distinguished into two categories: (1) elaborated code and (2) restricted code. Almost all speech events use restricted code, with only a few instances of the use of elaborated code. The factors determining the language choice by sellers and buyers in Tuba Pasak include: (1) social status, (2) age, (3) level of familiarity, (4) purpose of speech, and (5) topic of conversation.Keywords: Language Selection, Dayak Bakati, Language Code

Abstract

This research aims to describe code-switching and code-mixing found in buying and selling transactions in Pontianak Central Market, based on the types and causes of occurrence. The benefit of this research is to add insight into the code, code switching and mixing in buying and selling transactions in Pontianak Central Market. The method in this research is descriptive method in the form of qualitative research. The technique used is observation technique or direct observation. Data collection used tapping technique and free listening technique. Tapping is done with a recording device in the form of portable digital audio voice recording. Techniques to test the validity of data in this study are observation persistence, triangulation, and discussion with the supervisor. Based on the data analysis, this research concludes that there are 63 data in the form of code switching and 48 data in the form of inward code mixing and outward code mixing.

Abstract

This research was conducted by analyzing the terminology in the Jadi Mali procession in the Dayak Kerabat Menyapat community with the aim of describing an inventory of terminology in the Jadi Mali procession in the Dayak Kerabat Penyepat community, describing the form of lingual units of terminology in the Jadi Mali procession in the Dayak Kerabat Penyapat community, describing the meaning of the term in the Jadi Mali procession for the Dayak Kerabat Penyapat community, and describes the plan for implementing the terminology in the Jadi Mali procession for the Dayak Kerabat Penyapat community. The method used is a descriptive method and a form of qualitative research. The data source for this research is the Dayak Kerabat Penyepat language which is used in the customs of the Dayak Kerabat Menyapa community. The data of this research are words and phrases. The technique used is literature study, face-to-face conversation, and note-taking. Data collection tools are documents, questionnaires, and note sheets. Based on the analysis conducted, there are 90 terminology in the Jadi Mali procession consisting of words (monomorphemic, polymorphemic, affixation, and compound words) and phrases. The form of learning implementation contained in the RPP is adjusted to the 2013 curriculum for grade VII junior high school in odd semesters.Keywords:Jadi Mali, Semantics, and Terminology

Abstract

Language is a tool used by humans to communicate. Language is neverseparated from humans, and vice versa, customs are no exception.Even language is an object that connects the function and meaning ofthese customs. Now many young people don't care about customs,especially preserving traditional marriage ceremonies. Therefore,researchers examined the Dayak sawe marriage customs, commonlycalled Bejadi, so that the younger generation can see how unique andrich the culture and language used are. This study uses a descriptivemethod in the form of qualitative research, which aims to describe theresults of the form of the term Bejadi, the lexical, grammatical, andcultural meanings of Bejadi, as well as the implementation of theterminology of Bejadi in learning Indonesian at school. The datasource used in this study is the primary data source because it wasobtained through direct interviews with informants who are directlyrelated to the location of the object under study, namely in SekadauHulu District, Sekadau Regency. The source of the data obtained isfrom the bejadi event (traditional wedding ceremony) using the DayakSawe language. The results of this study were analyzed based on theirform so as to produce monomorphemic terminology, polymorphemic(affixations, suffixes, reduplications, and compound words), as well asphrases. From these data it can also generate the meanings that existin Bejadi, namely lexical meanings, grammatical meanings, andcultural meanings. Data acquisition was obtained based on theprocession, actors involved, tools, and materials at the event.
