Abstract

The performance of teachers is a crucial factor influencing educational quality, especially in Indonesia, where both national and international evaluations reveal ongoing difficulties in student learning outcomes. This study is to investigate the impact of management competence, interpersonal communication, and success motivation on teacher performance in public elementary schools within the Meurah Dua Subdistrict. A quantitative descriptive methodology with a correlational survey design was implemented. The population comprised 128 teachers, all chosen using comprehensive sampling. Data were gathered using Likert-scale questionnaires that adhered to validity and reliability criteria (Cronbach’s ? > 0.70). Data were examined utilizing descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Anticipated outcomes suggest that management competence and achievement motivation significantly enhance teacher performance, whereas interpersonal communication has a good but comparatively weaker impact. All three variables are anticipated to strongly forecast teacher performance. The findings are expected to underscore the significance of leadership capacity and motivational techniques in enhancing instructional quality and teacher productivity.

Abstract

The sustainability and quality of university institutions are significantly affected by the organizational commitment of their lecturers. Universities in developing nations frequently have enduring obstacles, including insufficient lecturer dedication, limited opportunities for professional development, and substandard working conditions. This study investigates the impact of interpersonal communication, lecturer proficiency, and job satisfaction on organizational commitment among educators in higher education institutions in Kota Langsa, Indonesia. A quantitative study approach was utilized, involving 120 lecturers from Universitas Sains Cut Nyak Dhien, selected via proportional sampling. Data were gathered through structured questionnaires and evaluated utilizing multiple regression analysis, t-tests, and F-tests. The findings demonstrate that interpersonal communication and lecturer proficiency substantially affect job satisfaction. Furthermore, interpersonal communication, competence, and job satisfaction each have a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. These variables collectively contribute to a significant amount of variance in lecturers' commitment levels. The results highlight that lecturers' organizational commitment is influenced by personal characteristics and institutional dynamics, especially communication practices, competence development, and job satisfaction perceptions. University leaders are advised to improve interpersonal communication systems, invest in structured competency development programs, and establish equitable welfare policies that increase lecturers’ dedication and promote institutional sustainability.

Abstract

Parental involvement is crucial to improve the quality of learning at the primary school level, yet it is often restricted and unequal. This study investigates the tactics used by school administrators to increase family participation in the learning process, assesses the efficiency of various leadership strategies in establishing school-parent synergy, and analyses the challenges associated with increasing parental involvement. Data were obtained from elementary schools in Cluster 4, Pidie Regency, using a qualitative field study design that included observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The data show that administrators have used a variety of tactics, including routine communication, family involvement in school events, and the availability of collaboration spaces. These methods are positive, but they have not yet resulted in optimal and equitable parental participation. The effectiveness of leadership methods in developing synergy between schools and parents is still in its early stages, with modest impact on long-term parental support and student learning outcomes. Low parental awareness, work-related time restrictions, a lack of knowledge of parental obligations, and poor two-way communication are all significant barriers. The study finds that increasing parental involvement necessitates more tailored, consistent, and educational leadership tactics. The findings add to the conversation about educational leadership by emphasizing the significance of contextualized principal tactics in developing school-parent partnerships at the primary level

Abstract

The research aims to understand and analyze how the Teaching Factory model can be implemented in vocational high schools, particularly in the field of mechanical engineering. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The research was conducted at Vocational High School in Lhokseumawe, which has already implemented the teaching factory model. Data collection in this study used three techniques: in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation study. The data analysis technique used is the interactive model which includes: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Teaching Factory model implemented at Vocational High School in Lhokseumawe in the Mechanical Engineering expertise program has proven effective in improving students' competencies and preparing them for the workforce. The integration of theory and practice provided in this model greatly helps students master the skills needed in the industry. However, to maximize the potential of Teaching Factory, improvements in facilities, curriculum, and industry partnerships are needed. With the right improvements, Teaching Factory can continue to make significant contributions in producing skilled and employable workers.

Abstract

Research focused on the transformation of good school governance towards financial independence is still very limited. This study aims to design priority strategies for the Good School Governance. The research method used is a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design, combining quantitative and qualitative methods applied consecutively. This research is important for creating a governance model that incorporates resource standardization, a business model, and effective and efficient performance indicators, enabling schools to achieve financial independence. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a strategic good school governance, which includes resource standardization, business model, performance indicators, and financial independence. The implementation system aims to strengthen the role of industrial learning in vocational education institutions, particularly, by aligning existing governance structures, including organizational governance, financial governance, and accountability governance.

Abstract

The quality of Vocational High School graduates is considered insufficient and does not meet the requirements for performing high-skill jobs, leading to the highest open unemployment rate compared to other education levels. A preliminary study conducted in several Vocational High Schools with machining competency fields in Lhokseumawe found a systematic empirical phenomenon. Graduates are unable to meet the industry's needs, resulting in difficulties in entering the workforce in line with current conditions. This research specifically aims to find a partnership model for vocational high schools with machining competencies in facing the 4.0 disruption era. The importance of this research is to develop a partnership model between Vocational High Schools and industry in both quality and quantity, requiring optimal management. Therefore, continuous studies are needed to maximize management in partnership relations so that the quality of vocational education continues to improve. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data analysis follows the Miles & Huberman model, which consists of data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and conclusion. The research results show that an effective partnership model should include continuous collaboration between educational institutions and industry, appropriate training programs, and internship opportunities to provide practical experience. Routine evaluation and adjustment of this model will ensure that the partnership remains relevant and beneficial amid the rapid changes in the 4.0 disruption era

Abstract

This study also aims to determine the extent to which the implementation of the Teaching Factory (TeFa) learning model can be adjusted to the product/service-based learning activities that have been previously carried out at the target schools and to identify the factors that influence the success of the program. The research results indicate that (1) The TeFa learning model is an industry-based learning model that utilizes production units as a platform for running business or production processes. TeFa learning model developed in Vocational High Schools is integrated with production units for conducting practical activities for students. (2) The policy of school for TeFa learning is to align the existing curriculum with the curriculum needs of the industry. (3) The TeFa learning model is able to improve the competencies of students in the Mechanical Engineering expertise program in Vocational High Schools in Lhokseumawe.
