Abstract

The Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) aims to improve teachers' competence in carrying out the learning process, which in turn has an impact on improving the quality of education. The purpose of the research is to find out how to evaluate the literacy and numeracy skills of teachers participating in the PPG Certain Teachers. This study uses a qualitative approach, namely evaluation research with a case study method that focuses on one phenomenon. The design models used in CIPPO evaluation are context, input, process, product, and outcome. The population is all informants, namely PPG managers, PPG Coordinators, Lecturers, Pamong Teachers and PPG participants of Certain Teachers totaling 569 people. Data collection by document study, interview guidelines and observation guidelines. Qualitative data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. In general, based on the graduation percentage of 99.3% declared to have passed UKPPPG and 0.7% did not pass UKPPPG, it can be concluded that the literacy and numeracy skills of teachers participating in certain PPG Teachers are very good and the PPG program at LPTK Malikussaleh University can continue.

Abstract

The school literacy movement (SLM) is more than just reading and writing but includes thinking skills according to stages and literacy components. SLM aims to develop student ethics through the development of a literacy ecosystem, so that students become lifelong learners. But the problem is difficulty listening and telling stories longer, difficulty understanding the intent and purpose of SLM. This study aims to: (1) describe planning, (2) describe implementation, (3) describe the evaluation of the implementation of the school literacy movement (SLM) policy oriented to computer-based national assessment in elementary school students in Bireuen Regency. This research is a field study using a qualitative approach conducted at SD 4 in Bireuen Regency. The data was collected through interviews, and observation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data reduction and data presentation. The results showed that: (1) Computer-based National Assessment-oriented School Literacy Movement policy implementation planning: (a) goal and target planning, (b) problem identification, (c) stakeholder identification, (d) resources and budget, (e) strategy, (f) monitoring and evaluation, (g) improvement and learning, (h) problem formulation, (i) recommendations, (j) result monitoring, (k) performance evaluation, (l) Computer-based National Assessment-oriented School Literacy Movement policy implementation. (2) Implementation of Computer-based National Assessment-oriented School Literacy Movement policy: (a) allocating natural resources and human resources, (b) hardware and software, (c) technological infrastructure, (d) educational content, (e) training and professional development, (f) coaching and supervision, (g) administration and reporting, (h) communication and awareness, (i) research evaluation and budget, (j) awards and recognition, (l) ensuring data security and privacy,  (k) Stakeholder involvement, (l) Achievement of targets in implementation, (m) Quality in implementation, (n) communication and coordination in implementation. Abstract

One of the biggest challenges in vocational education is the gap between the skills taught in schools and the actual needs in the industry. *Teaching Factory* provides a solution by integrating industrial processes and technologies directly into the curriculum. The implementation mechanism of this community service program is carried out through stages of needs analysis, partnership offers with industry partners, activity execution, and activity evaluation. The results achieved have successfully improved teachers' ability to design and implement more applicable and industry-relevant learning. Although there were some challenges faced, particularly in terms of limited facilities, this activity has had a significant impact on the quality of learning and the readiness of students to work in the industry

Abstract

This community service program is of high urgency, considering the challenges and demands within vocational education in Indonesia. With the advancement of technology and the emergence of Industry 4.0, the skills required by the industry are continuously evolving. Vocational schools need to adapt to these developments to ensure their graduates remain relevant in the job market. The implementation mechanism of this community service program follows stages of problem and needs analysis, offering partnerships with industry partners, carrying out activities, and evaluating the activities. The results obtained show that teachers have gained teaching skills that are more aligned with industry developments, enabling them to deliver content that meets the needs of the business world.

Abstract

Technological developments in the digital era affect many aspects of life, including education. The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is very important in learning in schools, so teachers' ICT competence needs to be considered. This research aims to understand the ICT competency of teachers in Elementary Schools in Lawe Bulan District, Southeast Aceh Regency, efforts to improve this competency, and the factors that influence teacher ICT capabilities.  This research uses qualitative methods with interviews, observation and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 76 teachers, with observations on 6 teachers selected based on certain criteria. The average teacher ICT competency in Elementary Schools in Lawe Bulan District is 61 respondents, and 58 respondents are in the "Enough" category. Teachers' efforts to improve ICT competency showed that 15 respondents had good average results, while 60 people were in the "Very Good" category. These efforts include independent study, joint study, and ICT training.  The research results indicate that there is no relationship between teacher ICT competency and education level and length of service. However, there is a relationship between efforts to increase teachers' ICT competence and their competence. The involvement of ICT competence in planning, implementation and evaluation of learning is also evaluated, as well as factors inhibiting increasing teacher competence.

Abstract

The change of the curriculum to the Independent Curriculum made the National Exam (UN) officially change to the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM). The evaluation carried out in the National Assessment consisted of reasoning ability using language (literacy), reasoning ability using mathematics (numeracy), and strengthening character education. Despite the lack of significant improvement in Indonesia's literacy, numeracy, and science skills rankings over the past 18 years, the country consistently ranks in the bottom 10 in PISA test results. Facing the current Independent curriculum, teachers must be able to teach based on literacy and numeracy skills, because this is the indicator in AKM and PISA-based assessments. If teachers master literacy and numeracy skills, then teachers can convey materials related to literacy and numeracy clearly and correctly for students. Teachers are expected to innovate to develop student competencies through various lessons through student-centred teaching. This Community Service is a community partnership program in collaboration with SMKN 3 Lhokseumawe. Service activities are by providing material on literacy and numeracy-based learning. During the service program, teachers are given knowledge about literacy and numeracy, the form of questions, and the number of percentages of questions in the AKM, which are useful for strengthening teachers' literacy and numeracy.

Abstract

This research aims (1) to determine the internal and external factors that cause learning difficulties for students majoring in TKRO at SMK N 4 Lhokseumawe, (2) to find out learning strategies that can help class XI students majoring in TKRO at SMK N 4 Lhokseumawe. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, documentation. The research subjects were class XI students majoring in light vehicle engineering at SMK N 4 Lhokseumawe. Research data was analyzed using data reduction analysis methods, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of interviews with class Factors that cause learning difficulties include the classroom atmosphere, the way the teacher teaches, and students' internal factors such as physiology and psychology. So this research was conducted with the aim of analyzing and finding strategies to overcome students' learning difficulties. The results of the study with an average acquisition of student learning difficulties of 2.648 are included in the High category. With the qualification of learning difficulties for automotive electrical material is "High" at SMK Negeri 4 Lhokseumawe. In order to overcome this problem, teachers need to change their teaching style and encourage interaction with students, while students need to be more focused and conducive during learning. It is hoped that collaboration between teachers and students can help reduce the level of learning difficulty in automotive electrical subjects for class XI students majoring in light vehicle engineering at SMK N 4 Lhokseumawe.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: (1) Improvement in student learning outcomes, (2) Student responses, (3) Find out whether there is an increase in student and teacher activity, after implementing the taching factory learning model on basic electrical concepts material in class XI TBSM SMK Negeri 1 Nisam. The type of research used is Quasi Experimental Design using a non-equivalent control design. The sampling technique used was 40 students consisting of 20 class XI TBSM 2 students as the experimental class and 20 TBSM 1 students as the control class. Data collection instruments use multiple choice questions and questionnaires. The research results show that: (1) There is an increase in student learning outcomes after implementing the teaching factory learning model on basic motorbike electrical concept material with an average n-gain score for the experimental class of 0.70, which is in the medium category, in the control class the average is n -gain score of 0.16 is in the low category. (2) Student response questionnaire after applying the teaching factory learning model to the basic concepts of motorbike electricity in class XI TBSM SMK Negeri 1 Nisam is in the very good category with an average score of 83%. (3) teacher activities are in the good category with an overall average score of 3.42 with a percentage of 85.5%, while student activities are in the good category with an overall average score of 3.33 with a percentage score of 83%.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor penting dalam usaha peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran IPA/Sains di SD adalah guru yang berkompeten yang didukung dengan kemampuan menyusun dan mengembangkan media maupun modul yang inovatif dengan menyesuaikan situasi belajar siswa dengan situasi kehidupan nyata di masyarakat. Mitra dalam Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah guru-guru IPA/Sains SD Negeri 3 Percontohan Peusangan Kabupaten Bireuen. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra saat ini adalah; 1) belum lengkapnya media-media pembelajaran IPA/Sains yang variatif yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran; 2) minimnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang inovatif seperti pop-up bookyang dapat dikaitkan dengan konteks potensi lokal; 3) kemampuan guru dalam mengaitkan potensi lokal Aceh dengan pembelajaran IPA/Sains masih rendah; dan 4) pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun dan mengembangkan modul berbentuk pop-up bookyang terintegrasi dengan potensi lokal Aceh masih sangat terbatas.Untuk mengatasi permasalahan mitra tersebut, solusi yang ditawarkan adalah: 1) membantu guru dalam memahami, merancang dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran pop-up book yang dikaitkan dengan konteks potensi lokal Aceh; dan 2) membantu guru dalam menyusun dan mengembangkan modul sains berbentuk pop-up book yang terintegrasi dengan potensi lokal Aceh.Sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kemampuan, dan keterampilan guru IPA/Sains, tim pengusul Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dan mitra menyepakati dan menjustifikasi solusi yang palingmungkin dilakukan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan, kemampuan, dan keterampilan guru IPA/Sains sehingga mampu menyusun dan mengembangkan modul sains berbentuk pop-up book berbasis potensi lokal.Keberhasilan dari kegiatan ini yaitu masing-masing guru IPA/Sains telah memiliki satu produk modul sains berbentuk pop-up bookberbasis potensi lokal Aceh dan mampu mengimplementasikannya dalam kegiatan belajar dan mengajar dengan baik.

Abstract

Proses belajar mengajar selama masa dan pasca pandemi Covid-19 telah berakibat pada menurunnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami materi sehingga diperlukan sebuah media pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat membantu siswa untuk belajar secara mandiri.  Mitra dalam pengabdian pemberdayaan masyarakat ini adalah guru-guru SMK Negeri 4  Lhokseumawe. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra saat ini adalah: 1) belum semua media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru bersifat inovatif; 2) minat membaca siswa masih rendah; dan 3) belum meratanya keterampilan guru dalam menyusun atau mengembangan modul pembelajaran menjadi e-modul; dan 4) guru masih berfokus menggunakan modul ajar cetak yang telah tersedia di perpustakaan sekolah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penguatan keterampilan bagi guru dalam merancang dan mengembangkan  emodul pembelajaran. Pelatihan ini menggunakan pendekatan student centered learning dengan model project based learning. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru mitra telah mampu menghasilkan produk berupa emodul pembelajaran dengan kategori layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif. Peningkatan keterampilan guru terlihat dari kemampuan menyusun dan mengembangan bahan ajar menjadi e-modul berbasis software 3d pageflip professional https://bit.ly/3h4CvVm dan telah digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar secara online.
