Abstract

Introduction: Acupressure is a widely used complementary therapy for managing minor health complaints without medication. However, students’ understanding of proper and safe acupressure techniques remains limited. Structured education is needed to improve their knowledge and skills in applying acupressure correctly. Objective: This community service activity aims to provide education and Training of Trainers (ToT) on acupressure techniques to students of SMA Negeri 1 Gading Rejo, enabling them to understand the concepts, benefits, and proper application of acupressure for relieving minor health problems independently. Method: The activity was conducted with 36 eleventh-grade students through interactive lectures, audiovisual media, demonstrations, hands-on practice, simulations, role play, discussions, Q&A sessions, and pre–post tests to measure knowledge improvement. The material included the definition, purpose, benefits, and techniques of acupressure for several conditions such as cough and cold, loss of appetite, menstrual pain, itching and hives, stress, insomnia, and headaches. Result: The program resulted in a significant improvement in students’ knowledge. Before the education, 90% of participants were categorized as having low knowledge. After the session, 50% reached the good category, 48% the sufficient category, and only 2% remained in the low category. Students were also active and cooperative throughout the activity and demonstrated the ability to perform acupressure techniques correctly after guided practice. Conclusion: Acupressure education using the ToT method proved effective in enhancing students’ knowledge and skills. Participants gained a better understanding that acupressure is a safe, practical, and low-risk complementary therapy for managing minor health complaints.

Abstract

Acupuncture complementary therapy is a form of non-conventional treatment that is widely sought after by the public to improve health and reduce pain complaints. This study aims to determine the level of public trust in acupuncture complementary therapy and the factors that influence it. The research method used a quantitative descriptive approach with a questionnaire distributed to 20 respondents as a data collection technique. The questionnaire included an assessment of public knowledge of acupuncture therapy. The analysis results showed that 68% of respondents had a high level of trust in acupuncture therapy, 24% had moderate trust, and 8% had low trust. The conclusion of this study is that the majority of the public has high trust in acupuncture therapy as a complementary effort to improve health after receiving education about acupuncture complementary therapy.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of memorable tourism experiences and operational risk management in tourist train transportation on positive Word of Mouth (WOM), with tourist satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, and data were processed using SEM-PLS 4. The research sample consisted of 247 respondents who had used tourist train services within the past year. The results reveal that both effective risk management practices and memorable tourism experiences perceived by tourists significantly impact tourist satisfaction. Additionally, tourist satisfaction plays a crucial mediating role in generating positive WOM. The study highlights that memorable tourism experiences, including aspects such as comfort, scenic views, and the quality of service, significantly enhance tourist satisfaction. Furthermore, operational risk management, which includes ensuring passenger safety, maintaining service reliability, and handling emergencies effectively, is essential for cultivating satisfaction and positive WOM. The findings suggest that businesses in the tourism industry, particularly those operating tourist trains, should prioritize both risk management and creating memorable experiences to foster customer loyalty and enhance WOM. This study contributes to understanding the dynamic relationship between risk management, customer satisfaction, and WOM in the tourism sector, providing valuable insights for improving service strategies in tourist train transportation.

Abstract

The phenomenon of tourist destinations experiencing a decline in popularity after a viral phase (post-viral stagnation) poses significant challenges to the sustainability of urban tourism. This study aims to test a structural model for destination reactivation in Kampung Pelangi, Semarang, focusing on the role of digital transformation in strengthening destination resilience through the mediation of competitive advantage. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 150 respondents and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The results of the hypothesis testing indicate that digital transformation has a positive and significant influence on competitive advantage (β = 0.495; t = 5.820; p < 0.001) and destination resilience (β = 0.312; t = 3.450; p < 0.001). Furthermore, competitive advantage was found to have a strong impact on resilience (β = 0.542; t = 7.115; p < 0.001). A mediation test demonstrated that competitive advantage significantly mediated the relationship between digital transformation and resilience (β = 0.268; t = 4.890; p < 0.001). This model demonstrated a predictive power of 61.2% (R2 = 0.612) for destination resilience. This finding emphasizes that post-pandemic destination reactivation requires the integration of digital capabilities that can restore differentiation and unique value propositions to achieve long-term resilience.
