Abstract

Most villages in Indonesia, such as Bugel Village, are vulnerable to the spread of hate speech and fake news online. This fake news often contains elements of hate speech against specific groups, such as ethnicity, religion, race, or class (referred to as SARA), which can trigger division and conflict within society. Therefore, it is important for the community to have a critical awareness strengthened through digital literacy, so that they can counter hate speech and fake news. The community service activity carried out by the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in Bugel Village, Tasikmalaya District, aimed to enhance digital literacy among the community. This activity involved 30 participants from various social strata, including village heads and farmers, focusing on digital literacy education to identify and counter the spread of fake news and hate speech online. Lecture and demonstration methods were used, and participants underwent pretests and posttests to measure improvements in understanding and application of digital literacy. The results showed significant improvement; the average pretest score for understanding increased from 55.8 to 85.8, and for application, from 65 to 86.1 in the posttest. Participants' satisfaction with the training was quite high, averaging 4.09. This activity successfully demonstrated the importance of digital literacy in the community, especially in facing digital information challenges such as fake news and hate speech, and emphasized the need for ongoing efforts to develop digital literacy in the community.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of the role of the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in the use of tofu pulp in KWT Lestari Maju, Selopamioro Village, Kapanewon Imogiri, Bantul Regency. The method used was a descriptive quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis techniques.  The research sample of 32 people was selected by purposive sampling. The independent variables studied included the role of groups as learning classes, cooperation vehicles, and production units, while the dependent variable was the use of tofu pulps. The results showed that the role of groups as a learning class (56.07%), a vehicle for cooperation (57.18%), and a production unit (67.10%) was in the medium category. KWT Lestari Maju classified the utilization of tofu pulps as a medium category, with an average utilization of 41.33%. The regression analysis indicated that the simultaneous variables of learning classes, cooperation vehicles, and production units significantly affect the utilization of tofu pulps (Simultaneous value F 7.513 Sig 0.001 and determination R2 0.387 Sig < 0.05). However, partially, the role as a learning class of Sig 0.008 and production unit of Sig 0.027 has a significant influence, while the cooperation vehicle is not significant Sig 0.348. This indicates that the role of groups was significant in increasing the use of tofu pulp waste into products with selling value, such as crackers. However, there is still a need to strengthen cooperation and continuous further training. Abstract

Abstract:  Palm oil farmers utilize oil palm frond waste, where the fronds can serve as a source of feed for cattle and goats, as well as a medium for compost fertilizer. However, the processing is still done manually and traditionally. Based on this condition, a designer came up with the idea to create a palm frond shredding machine, which consists of cutting blades and shredding blades, aimed at assisting the shredding process. The machine includes several components to support the shredding process, such as a cutting blade disc, a shaft, and a fan plate. It is equipped with a total of 38 blades, comprising 4 cutting blades and 34 shredding blades. The shredding blades are 21.5 cm long, while the cutting blades are 20 cm in length. All blades are made from automotive spring steel, making them strong and suitable for use as cutting tools in a palm frond shredding machine. The output produced by this machine is well-processed and helps farmers in the palm frond shredding process for composting purposes. It also supports environmentally friendly frond processing. Based on testing, the machine operating at 1455 rpm yielded better results in terms of time and shredding quality compared to the 1346 rpm rotation speed. Keyword: Palm fronds, shredding machine, shredding blade, rotation speed. Abstrak: Para petani sawit memanfaatkan limbah pelepah sawit  dimana pelepah bisa menjadi sumber pakan ternak sapi maupun kambing dan juga bisa menjadi media untuk dijadikan pupuk kompos.
