Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the application of problem solving strategies oriented to open mathematical problems towards the achievement of learning mathematics, by paying attention to the factors of students' metacognitive skills. The research design used in this study was a 2 x 2 factorial research design, with a simple random sampling technique. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The population in this study were all students of class XII MIPA Public High School 7 Denpasar academic year 2018/2019 which consisted of 9 classes with a total of 324 people. With samples of class XII MIPA 2, XII MIPA 4, XII MIPA 5, and XII MIPA 8. Tests were carried out by t-test, F test, Tukey test through Anava Two-way statistical method. From the results of data analysis, it was found that, (1) there was an influence of learning strategies on open mathematical problem-solving problem solving on students' mathematics learning achievement. (2) there is the influence of learning strategies on problem solving oriented open mathematical problems on mathematics learning achievement in students with high metacognitive skills. (3) there is the influence of learning strategies on problem solving oriented to open mathematical problems on mathematics learning achievement in students with low metacognitive skills. (4) there is no interaction between learning strategies and metacognitive skills on mathematics learning achievement of students.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is a warm conversation in the world of education. Learning media that are able to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are inadequate. This study aims to develop learning media based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to improve the mathematical communication skills of vocational students. This research is part of a larger study using development research as the method. The subjects of the study were 10th grade students of Wira Harapan Vocational School consisting of 36 students (19 male and 17 female) 2018/2019 academic year and mathematics subject teachers at Wira Harapan Vocational School. Data collected from questionnaires and observations during learning. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques and code based on the type of student and teacher responses. The results show that (a) the total student responses to the implementation of the HOTS-based learning media were 126 consisting of 80.56% positive responses and 19.44% negative responses. (b)) the total teacher response to the implementation of HOTS-based learning media is 37 which consists of 80% positive and 20% negative responses. Based on the results of data analysis of student and teacher responses to the implementation of instructional media, it can be concluded that students are helped to understand problems based on HOTS, are active in learning and students are able to prepare themselves to be ready and confident when facing HOTS question-based examinations.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a vocational-based statistics learning video that is valid, practical and effective. The research was conducted at SMK Wira Harapan. The type of research used is research and development (Research and Development). The research and development steps are guided by the ADDIE model consisting of: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results obtained in this study are valid, practical and effective quality-based vocational statistics learning videos. Based on the evaluation of material experts, the average score is 3.60 and 3.55 for expert learning, including the "valid" criteria. The results of the student response questionnaire at the implementation stage obtained an average of 3.75 with the criteria "practical". Learning videos are said to be effective based on student completeness by 88.5% of the 36 students.

Abstract

STEM is an appropriate learning with the demands of the 21st century. This study aims to determine the steps for the development and quality of digital mathematics teaching materials for class X SMA based STEM on trigonometry material. The procedure uses the research and development adaptation Plomp development model that includes four stages, namely a preliminary investigation, design, realization/construction, and testing, evaluation and revision. Sources of data in this study are validators, mathematics teachers and students of SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar. The data collection technique used a validation questionnaire for validation tests, practicality questionnaires for practicality tests and tests for testing the effectiveness of teaching materials. The results of the initial validity test were declared "valid", with the value of validity in the content aspect of 0.72, validity of the presentation aspect of 0.90, language validity 0.92, and media validity 0.93. The results of the second stage the validity test were declared "valid", with a validity value 0.91. The test results on the practicality obtained was 75.8 students and teachers 75.3 categorized as "practical", the results obtained in the evaluation of students had an average of 82.63, it can be interpreted that mathematics teaching materials based STEM “effective” for use in learning

Abstract

Learning Material Development Linear Equation System One and Two Variables instrument based on Realistic Mathematics Education oriented to Blended Learning. This study is aimed to material education the Linear Equation System One and Two Variables instrument based on Realistic Mathematics Education oriented to Blended Learning is order to improve student, activity dan student achievement. This present study is was development. In this study, the Linear Equation System One and Two Variables learning a Student Book, Teacher Guidebook and Lesson Plan are developed. This research was conducted at SMK N 1 Denpasar. The method used are observation, questionnaire, and test methods. In this study the validation sheet, observation sheets as enforceability of study, questionnaire as responses of students and teachers, observation sheet for students’ learning activity, and achievement test are alers mind. The data have been collected by descriptive processed. In this study, the instrument for learning Linear Equation System One and Two Variables that are validity, practically, and effectively.

Abstract

The aim ofresearch was to determine (1) Whether or not the application of learning models ARCS influence on learning outcomes math class XI student of SMK Wira Harapanof the academic year 2016/2017, (2) To determine the students' response to the application of ARCS model of learning in mathematics.This research was conducted on a class XI student of SMK Wira Hope in the academic year 2016/2017. This study included quasi-experimental as well as with Matched Group Design. The population in this study are all class XI student of SMK Wira Harapan as many as 560 people and involved a sample of 60 people taken by simple random sampling technique. Student learning outcomes through mathematics achievement test. This study were analyzed by t-test, but previously tested the prerequisites are: normality test of data distribution and homogeneity of variance test.The results of learning achievement data analysis with significance level of 5% was obtained = 2,188, whereas = 2,045. Thus, greater than, means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This, showing no effects of the application of learning model ARCS on learning outcomes math class XI student of SMK Wira Harapan half of the school year 2016/2017. From the analysis of students' response to the application of ARCS learning model in the study of mathematics belongs in the positive.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar matematika antara siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan pembelajaran RME dengan pembelajaran konvensional, berdasarkan gaya berpikirnya. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen semu, dengan populasi berupa seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Mengwi. Data hasil belajar matematika dikumpulkan dengan instrumen tes berbentuk esay, sedangkan data gaya berpikir diperoleh dengan instrument angket gaya berpikir. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian dua jalur. Temuan penelitian adalah: 1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar matematika antara Siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan RME dengan pembelajaran konvensional. 2) Untuk siswa yang memiliki gaya berpikir divergen, terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan pembelajaran RME dengan pembelajaran konvensional. 3) Untuk siswa yang memiliki gaya berpikir konvergen, terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan pembelajaran RME dengan pembelajaran konvensional. 4) Temuan penelitian kedua dan ketiga mengindikasikan adanya interaksi antara pendekatan pembelajaran dengan gaya berpikir siswa. Simpulan penelitian bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran RME dan gaya berpikir terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Mengwi Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018.

Abstract

The study, titled "Application of Partial Credit Model (PCM) in Evaluating the Essay Test" aims to find out how the Partial Credit Model (PCM) is applied in evaluating tests. This research is an explorative descriptive research and data analysis is done using PCM with the help of Parscale software. Research data obtained from the results of the middle tests of numerical method. The application of PCM in evaluating the essay test provided information that the variable ability of test participants significantly influenced to the probability of correct answer, ie 98.1%, the average of the difficulty level was -0.078 indicating that the numerical method test included in the difficult category, the average ability of the test participants was -0.008 indicating that the average ability of the participants in answering the numerical methods test was in the medium category, and based on the information function and the Standard Error of Measurement (SEM) it was found that the numerical method test developed was suitable for students with the ability to medium category.

Abstract

Wira Harapan Vocational School was established in 2008 on 4,500 m2 of land located on Jl, Raya Padang Luwih, Tegal Jaya Dalung, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali Province. Wira Harapan Vocational School is supported by 60 teachers, consisting of permanent foundation teachers, contract teachers and honor teachers. Wira Harapan Vocational High School has 20 education staff consisting of permanent employees, contract employees and honorarium employees. In the 2017/2018 school year, Wira Harapan Vocational High School has 1.525 students, consisting of 522 class X students, 501 grade XI students, and 502 class XII students who are scattered into 42 study groups. The problem found in Wira Harapan Vocational School is the low understanding of teachers on electronic-based compilation in this PKM called E-module. The solution offered is to carry out workshops to improve teachers' understanding and skills regarding the procedures and mechanisms for the preparation of e-modules and mentoring (guided practice) is a follow-up to the workshop to improve teacher skills in preparing e-modules. The results achieved from this PKM activity are the increasing ability of teachers to prepare e-modules in accordance with the procedures for developing e-modules and the formulation of e-modules for each subject.

Abstract

This study aims to determine alternative problem solving in the 2013 curriculum book and human resources in mathematics learning in junior high schools. This research is a qualitative research, using a case study design method. Mathematics subjects need to be given to all students starting from elementary school, to equip students with the ability to think logically, analytically, systematically, critically, innovatively and creatively, as well as the ability to work together. Mathematical skills or skills are part of the life skills that students must have, especially in developing reasoning, communication, and solving problems faced in students' daily lives. Mathematics is always used in all aspects of life, all fields of study require appropriate mathematical skills, is a strong, concise and clear means of communication, can be used to present information in various ways, improves logical thinking skills, accuracy and spatial awareness, gives satisfaction to business solve challenging problems, develop creativity, and as a means of raising awareness of cultural developments. The above can be realized if adequate facilities and infrastructure and the availability of qualified human resources mathematics teachers.
