Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with the use of Azolla microphylla feed and its potential to produce a module design on the material for growth and development of living things in class XII odd semester KD 3.10 and KD 4.10.This research was conducted from May to August 2020 at Danau Selais LPPM Riau University. This study used 2 stages, namely. Phase I research used quantitative descriptive to determine the growth of tilapia on Azolla microphyla feed with different feeding percentages. Fish were grouped into 3 treatments and 1 control. Fish are reared in different cages with different percentage of feeding. The research parameters included absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, nisbi  growth rate, and survival rate.Phase II research is a module teaching material design that uses 2 stages, namely, the Analyze and Design stages. The results of the experimental stage of research, feeding Azolla microphylla affected the growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). P3 treatment (giving 5% Azolla microphylla from fish biomass) is the best dose in increasing the growth of tilapia. Resulted in the absolute length growth of 4.24 cm, absolute weight 11.72 g, 4.68% relative growth, 4,68% specific growth rate and 99.4% survival rate. The P3 treatment resulted in a growth which was much lower than the P0 treatment (control).

Abstract

Village development planning requires information in the form of spatial data that is precise and accurate so that it can be used to analyze development needs in environmental, economic, and social aspects. It shows the limited spatial information related to village administration, village potential, and toponymy. The development of a spatial-based village potential map aims to present spatial information to be used in village development planning. The spatial map was developed through a participatory approach by involving Riau University students. Data collection was carried out with multi parties' participation, including the Geospatial Information Agency, Siak Regency Government, LPPM Riau University, and the World Research Institute. The method of developing spatial maps is done using the Avenza Maps application based on android and Arc Gis. The activity was carried out in Bunga Raya District, Siak Regency. Development activities are carried out through the stages of preparation (identification of needs and training), implementation (field mapping), and evaluation (making village spatial maps and verification). The results of developing a spatial-based village potential map showed promising results. The preparation stage resulted in identifying the components needed, such as base maps, developing student human resources by conducting training on using the Avenza Maps application. The implementation stage produces spatial coordinates of the village potential through participatory field surveys between Riau University students and the District's community/village apparatus. The evaluation stage produces spatial maps that have been verified by the Siak Regency Government, especially the village administrative boundaries. Thus, spatial mapping results can be used as a database in development planning and can be used as a baseline for spatial data for Siak Regency.

Abstract

Application of Guided Inquiry Learning Model to Improve Student Competency in Biology Learning at SMAN 2 XIII Koto Kampar. The classroom action research was motivated by the low competence of students in aspects of attitudes, knowledge and skills. The purpose of this study was to determine improving student competence of grouping plant in class X IPA 2 SMAN 2 XIII Koto Kampar through the application of guided inquiry learning model. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This study begins with a pre cycle before the cycle I. Subjects were 26 students of SMAN 2 X IPA 2 class XIII Koto Kampar. Data obtained using the competency attitude instrument observation sheet of religious and social attitudes, including: faithful, honest, discipline, cooperation, tolerance and mutual cooperation. A knowledge data was collected with quiz and test questions at the end of the cycle.  The skills data was collected with observation sheets of practices and product. The results showed an increase in the competence of the students after the applied application of guided inquiry learning model. An increase in the average value of attitude competence of the first cycle of 3.15 and the second cycle of 3.49. The competence of knowledge showed an increase from the first cycle of students who pass as many as 22 people (84.62%) in the second cycle students who pass as many as 24 people (92.31%), while competence of skills to practice skills in the first cycle of 3.16, and the second cycle of 3.30. And then, product skills in the first cycle of 3.04 increased in the second cycle of 3.30.Keywords: Grouping Plants, Guided Inquiry, Student Competence

Abstract

Abstract

Oil palm is one of Indonesia’s main commodities that play a role in the growth of the national economy. It has a considerable contribution in generating foreign exchange and employment. Development of Indonesia’s CPO processing industry and its derivatives is in line with the growth of plantation area and production of oil palm as a source of raw materials. Until 2011, Indonesia’s oil palm plantation area reached 2,103,175 ha with an FFB production of 36,809,252 tons. Meanwhile, oil palm mill (OPM) processing capacity was 30,019,200 tons only. The analysis showed the regional carrying capacity (RCC) was 1.584. Each FFB should be processed in less than 8 hours or RCC for OPM must be smaller than 1 (RCC, 1). Higher production of oil palm plantations in Riau is the potency to increase the OPM. The results of calculations by land development and farm productivity, Riau region is still lacking of 16 OPM units with a capacity of 60 tons / hour or identical to 21 OPM units at a capacity of 45 tons / hour. The deficiency in OPM impacts the price and income of oil palm farmers in rural areas. High demand for OPM in Riau is a business opportunity for investors to develop an OPM and industry of products derived from oil palm.

Differences in attitudes to care for the environment are found in 3 indicators namely, attitudes towards energy, attitudes towards flora and fauna and attitudes towards the social and human environment. Analysis of environmental care attitudes category found that monolithic PLH learning was 1.24% in the excellent category, 98.76 in the good category. While PLH integration is 1.39% very good, 93.10% is good and 5.51% is low. It was concluded that students with monolithic PLH learning had environmental care attitudes that were better than students' attitudes with PLH integration learning.
