Abstract

This research is motivated by a decrease in the value of IKM in 2022 which has an impact on decreasing interest in repeat visits in 2023 related to the dimensions of service quality and patient behavior indicators. There are patient complaints such as doctors not being there when patients need and difficulty getting referrals. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of service quality dimensions and patient behavior indicators on interest in inpatient re-visits at Kusuma Bangsa Health Center. This study uses quantitative methods. Data collection by interview using a questionnaire. Respondents in this study totaled 103 patients. Data analysis using logistic regression test. The results showed that patients who were interested in making a repeat visit (55.3%), patients categorized both the quality dimension (68%) and the patient behavior indicator (53%). There is a significant influence between interest in repeat visits with patient behavior indicators with a p value of 0.010. Kusuma Bangsa Health Center is expected to prioritize improving access to services and including doctors to be on duty 24 hours.

Abstract

The 21st century is known as the era of science and communication. To face these challenges, quality human resources are needed through education. This study aims to determine the improvement in critical thinking skills and environmental awareness among students after using electronic teaching materials on wetland ecology based on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The research used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 34 students enrolled in the wetland ecology course in the even semester of 2024/2025 participated in the study. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills improved from the pretest to the posttest. The pretest mean score was 70.47, considered good, while the posttest mean score was 84.28, considered very good. Students' cognitive environmental awareness attitudes also improved between the pretest and posttest. The students' cognitive attitude towards environmental awareness in the pretest was 3.34, considered moderately concerned, and increased to 4.3 in the posttest, considered concerned. Thus, the electronic module on wetland ecology based on ESD as teaching material enrichment can be used to improve students' critical thinking and attitude towards environmental awareness.

Abstract

The Sultan Syarif Hasyim (SSH) Forest Park (Tahura) area in Riau Province is a forest conservation area that has an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem, especially in terms of carbon sequestration and carbon emission reduction. This study aims to measure the level of carbon emissions resulting from land cover changes and analyze the main causative factors of carbon emissions in the Tahura SSH area. The methods used include field analysis, measurement of carbon emissions based on land cover changes, and data processing using emission modeling software. The results show that carbon emissions in this region are mainly caused by deforestation and land clearing activities, which accelerate the release of carbon stored in forest biomass. In addition, this study provides recommendations for mitigation strategies that can be carried out, such as forest rehabilitation efforts, sustainable land management, and strengthening conservation policies. This research is expected to be an important reference in efforts to reduce carbon emissions in conservation forest areas and encourage policies that support environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Stunting or failure to thrive causes difficulties for toddlers in achieving optimal physical and cognitive development. Kesesi District is in first place and the Kesesi II Health Center as of February 2023 still has a high stunting rate, namely 165 cases. This study aimed to analyze host factors as risk factors for stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Kesesi II Health Center. This research is an analytical research with a quantitative approach and a case control research design. From the Chi-square test, the results of the maternal pregnancy history were obtained (p-value = 0.000, OR = 6.089, 95% CI = 2.146 - 17.276) history of infectious diseases in toddlers (p-value = 0.000, OR = 8.516, CI 2.953 - 24.561), history of exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.021, OR = 3.478, 95% CI = 1.172 - 10.323), history of LBW (p-value = 0.000, OR = 10.500, 95% CI 3.628 - 30.392), family economic status ( p-value = 0.287, OR = 2.188, 95% CI = 0.505 - 9.480). This study shows that the mother's history of pregnancy, history of infectious diseases, history of exclusive breastfeeding, and history of LBW are host factors that are at risk for the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the Kesesi II Health Center working area in 2023.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the structure of the macrozoobenthos community in the mangrove ecosystem of Solop Beach, Indragiri Hilir and to determine the validity of a booklet developed from the research results for use in the Environmental Pollution topic of Grade X Senior High School Biology. The research was conducted from February to April 2025 in the mangrove area of Solop Beach, Mandah District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The identification process and analysis of the macrozoobenthos community structure were carried out at the Biology Education Laboratory, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau. The methods used were the survey method and belt transect method, which are employed to analyze specific regional conditions. The parameters in this study were divided into primary parameters, namely biological parameters, and supporting parameters, namely physical-chemical parameters. The results of the study showed that a total of 8 species of macrozoobenthos were found in the Solop Beach mangrove ecosystem. The research findings were then integrated into a booklet learning media and validated by two experts for use in Grade X Senior High School Biology learning.

Abstract

Oil palm is one of Indonesia’s main commodities that play a role in the growth of the national economy. It has a considerable contribution in generating foreign exchange and employment. Development of Indonesia’s CPO processing industry and its derivatives is in line with the growth of plantation area and production of oil palm as a source of raw materials. Until 2011, Indonesia’s oil palm plantation area reached 2,103,175 ha with an FFB production of 36,809,252 tons. Meanwhile, oil palm mill (OPM) processing capacity was 30,019,200 tons only. The analysis showed the regional carrying capacity (RCC) was 1.584. Each FFB should be processed in less than 8 hours or RCC for OPM must be smaller than 1 (RCC, 1). Higher production of oil palm plantations in Riau is the potency to increase the OPM. The results of calculations by land development and farm productivity, Riau region is still lacking of 16 OPM units with a capacity of 60 tons / hour or identical to 21 OPM units at a capacity of 45 tons / hour. The deficiency in OPM impacts the price and income of oil palm farmers in rural areas. High demand for OPM in Riau is a business opportunity for investors to develop an OPM and industry of products derived from oil palm.

Abstract

Rooftop photovoltaic (RPV) systems are becoming increasingly popular as a source of renewable energy. One key factor that significantly affects the performance of RPV systems is the tilt angle of the solar panels. This study aims to determine the optimal tilt angle to maximize electricity production for the RPV system installed on academic building, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau. The research method used is the PVSyst simulation. The simulation data input was used as daily weather for one year. In this study, variations in roof tilt angles of 5°, 10°, 15°, 20°, and 25° were examined. The results show that the optimal tilt angles for this location are 5° and 10°. At a 5° tilt angle, the RPV can generate 247,128 kWh per year with a performance ratio (PR) of 83%. And then at a 10° tilt angle, the system can generate 248,012 kWh per year with a PR of 82%. Based on the simulation results, other tilt angles also produced higher energy outputs but yielded lower PR values. This study provides practical recommendations for designing RPV systems in regions with similar weather conditions.
