This evidence creates a trend of increasing private vehicles nowadays which impacts on the traffic jam. This phenomenon affects the decreasing use of public transportation which creates the decreasing number of public transportation every year. Based on the statistics, the number of public transportation in 1980’s was 50 % of the whole vehicles. However, in 2010 it was decreasing much on 12, 9 % only. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the level of effectiveness and efficiency of LRT services using path analysis. Calculations and data processing were carried out using SPSS ver 26 with primary data types taken from respondents using the LRT route. Data collection was done by distributing a list questions via google form to 105 respondents. This study uses the Ordinary Least Square regression model which produces research findings that customer needs are not able to mediate the effect of the level of effectiveness and efficiency on the demand for LRT services, or it can be said that the level of effectiveness and efficiency has a direct positive and significant effect on the demand for services. LRT without going through customer requirements. Abstract

In Jakarta, the sidewalks for pedestrians, are not only bad but also switched functionally. With that being said, sidewalks and zebra cross have become meaningless. PELANGI, one of the Non-Governmental Organization (LSM) that works dominately on the urban studies, mentioned that 65% of the accident on main roads, sadly involved the death of pedestrians, whereas 35% of the victims are underaged kids. These facts, though, have to be considered as our motivation to work on the sidewalks, making it suitable and comfortable to be walked through (walkable). Being supported and encouraged by the qualitative method and literature, indeed, pedestrians also have the same rights in using the roads.

Abstract

Bicycling once again has become a trend in big cities, including Jakarta. As a form of common transportation in the world, bicycling starts to gain its fame by government’s efforts in some cities in emphasizing the bicycling activity through special programs. The amount of bicycles, almost twice the public transportations, but as mentioned, to emphasize the bicycling activites, countries such as Netherlands, Denmark, Belgia and German have been developing special roads for bicycle riders, each with equal rights to use the roads separately from the motors/cars riders. With separated parking lot, bicycle rents with bail are given back, even special bicycle guarantees, everything is cultivated for the sake of increasing yet enhancing bicycling activity. In big cities like Jakarta, the bikers’ community has convinced workers to ride their bikes when going to work. This program is called bike to work (B2W). One of the concrete action we can perform to prevent global warming is to lure others to apply the “safe transportations” in their everyday lives. Bicycle, is one of them.
