Abstract

The use of instructional media is an urgent necessity, especially with the widespread utilization of educational technology and the increasing number of users. This requires effective integration of such media into the learning process within educational institutions. This aligns with what was stated by Asriyliyya and her colleagues, that ineffective implementation of the teaching and learning process results in low effectiveness, reaching only 48%. However, this issue can be addressed by identifying appropriate instructional media for students. Ats-Tsamina Lil Ummah Institute is one of the institutions striving to utilize instructional media, particularly in its Arabic language course programs. Therefore, this study aims to measure the effectiveness of the "Istami’" application as a listening instructional tool for beginners in the Arabic language course at Ats-Tsamina Lil Ummah Institute in Bogor. The researcher employed an experimental research method with a quantitative approach. The effectiveness of the "Istami’" application was measured using a pretest-posttest design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest design method. A t-test was used to compare students' pretest and posttest results to determine the application’s effectiveness in teaching listening skills. The research findings show that the "Istami’" application is effective in teaching listening skills. After being implemented in the beginner-level Arabic course at Ats-Tsamina Lil Ummah Institute, statistical analysis revealed that the probability value was lower than the level of significance (0.05 ≥ 0.00). The conclusion of this study emphasizes that technology-based instructional media have a positive impact on the learning process, enhance students’ language proficiency, and improve their academic performance.

Abstract

This article presents the analysis of Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani's views on the reformulation of Nahwu (Arabic grammar) for non-native speakers. The focus of this analysis included how Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani developed a simplified Nahwu teaching method while retaining essential grammatical rules of the Arabic language. The complexity of Nahwu often poses challenges for Arabic learners without an Arabic background, and understanding Abdul Ghani's approach was expected to provide an effective pedagogical solution. Data sources for this study included direct interviews with Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani, in-depth analysis of his works such as An-Nahwu Al-Kafi, Al-Kafi fi Sharh Matn Al-Ajurumiyyah, and An-Nahwu Bayna Yadayk, as well as a literature review of relevant Nahwu teaching methods. Data were analyzed with interpretive and hermeneutic methods, aiming to identify Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani's unique contributions to the reformulation of Nahwu. The findings showed that while Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani concurred with earlier scholars about the complexity of Nahwu, he proposed a different approach by retaining all grammatical rules but arranging them in a systematic and gradual way to facilitate comprehension for non-native speakers. This article contributes to the development of Nahwu pedagogy and emphasizes the importance of integrating religious values in Arabic grammar reform.

Abstract: Multiple intelligences have different types of intelligence, four of which will be discussed: musical intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, and naturalistic intelligence. This study uses a qualitative method using a literature study strategy. Data obtained from observation, reading books related to multiple intelligences, and documentation. The results of the study of multiple intelligences are a very extraordinary concept today, as children are not only interested in high grades, but they can also see that the child has their own advantages according to their multiple intelligences. In these multiple intelligences there is an application in every skill for learning the Arabic language. Multiple intelligences themselves have their own way of assessing or evaluating the correct way for each intelligence associated with each skill as well as training students' perseverance, skills and cooperation. Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to assess the influence of self-confidence development through language development programs implemented at four universities in Indonesia: IAIN Kudus, UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu, Universitas Ma'arif Lampung, and UIN Maliki Malang, on students' Arabic speaking learning outcomes. The study employs a quantitative ex post facto approach. Respondents in this study are students from the aforementioned universities who participated in language development programs under various names. The total number of informants is 138 students: 41 from UIN Maliki Malang, 35 from IAIN Kudus, 22 from UMALA Lampung, and 40 from UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. Data collection involved a modified psychological confidence scale focusing on Arabic language-related points and academic scores in Arabic speaking courses. The analysis techniques include instrument trials to test the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using Spearman Rank Correlation. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26. The Spearman Rank Correlation test results show a significance value (p < 0.001), which is less than 0.05, with a correlation coefficient strength of 0.675. This indicates that variable X (self-confidence developed through language development programs) significantly correlates strongly with variable Y (students' Arabic speaking learning outcomes) at IAIN Kudus, UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu, UIN Maliki Malang, and UMALA Lampung. Thus, it can be concluded that the higher the students' self-confidence, the more it correlates with their Arabic speaking learning outcomes.   Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai pengaruh pengembangan kepercayaan diri melalui program pengembangan bahasa yang dilaksanakan di empat universitas di Indonesia: IAIN Kudus, UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu, Universitas Ma’arif Lampung, dan UIN Maliki Malang, terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa dalam berbicara bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif ex post facto. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa dari keempat universitas tersebut yang mengikuti program pengembangan bahasa dengan berbagai nama. Jumlah total informan adalah 138 mahasiswa: 41 dari UIN Maliki Malang, 35 dari IAIN Kudus, 22 dari UMALA Lampung, dan 40 dari UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan skala psikologis kepercayaan diri yang telah dimodifikasi dan difokuskan pada poin-poin terkait bahasa Arab, serta nilai akademik dalam mata kuliah keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab. Teknik analisis yang digunakan meliputi uji coba instrumen untuk menguji validitas dan reliabilitas kuesioner, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan Korelasi Rank Spearman. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SPSS versi 26. Hasil uji Korelasi Rank Spearman menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (p < 0,001), yang lebih kecil dari 0,05, dengan kekuatan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,675. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel X (kepercayaan diri yang dikembangkan melalui program pengembangan bahasa) memiliki korelasi yang signifikan dan kuat dengan variabel Y (hasil belajar berbicara bahasa Arab mahasiswa) di IAIN Kudus, UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu, UIN Maliki Malang, dan UMALA Lampung. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri mahasiswa, maka semakin tinggi pula korelasinya dengan hasil belajar berbicara bahasa Arab mereka.

Abstract

Developing teaching materials is a crucial endeavor that contributes significantly to the success of teaching and learning activities. However, the materials in the Mamba'ul Ulum Senior High School handbook for learning students' speaking skills in Bungah, Gresik, are limited and do not allow students to practice speaking in different situations. The book only presents dialogue texts and scattered vocabulary. This makes it difficult for students to develop speaking skills. This research project aims to develop, produce, and evaluate teaching materials that enhance students' speaking skills in response to daily situations. This study employs a qualitative and quantitative approach with a research and development (R&D) method. The results of this study are as follows: (1) Teaching materials were developed for Arabic language students at Mamba'ul Ulum Senior High School in Bungah, Gresik, through a process involving needs analysis, planning, material development, expert validation, improvement, field trials, and final revisions. (2) The use of teaching material products that have been designed through the development process is very effective in improving students' speaking skills. This is evidenced by post-test results that are higher than pre-test results. This study suggests the following: First, teachers should design teaching materials that align with students' needs and interests related to their daily lives. Second, teachers should use a variety of methods and strategies, and they should avoid using the students' native language. Researchers have designed speaking skills teaching materials that can support Arabic-speaking instruction at Mamba'ul Ulum High School in Bungah, Gresik, and other educational institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of the language environment in developing speaking skills among students at Hidayatullah Batu Institute, using Albert Bandura’s behavioral theory as a framework. The research was conducted to explore how creating a supportive and motivating Arabic language environment in a non-Arabic speaking context like Indonesia can enhance students’ oral language proficiency through modeling, positive reinforcement, and social interaction. A qualitative case study methodology was applied. Data were collected via direct observations, structured interviews with twelve key informants including the institute’s director, teachers, and students, as well as institutional documents. Data were collected over a four-week period through repeated observation and semi-structured interviews, The analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s model, involving data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Triangulation was used to increase the credibility of the findings. Results show that the institute effectively establishes an immersive Arabic language environment that encourages daily language use both inside and outside the classroom. Students improve their speaking skills by observing and imitating proficient language models such as teachers and peers. Positive reinforcement through praise and symbolic rewards motivates students to participate actively. Planned linguistic activities like daily conversations, educational drama, and language games help reduce speaking anxiety and build fluency. The study also found significant progress in pronunciation, sentence construction, and a reduction of interference from students’ native languages. These combined behavioral approaches and diverse activities create a natural, confident, and sustainable improvement in students’ speaking abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to design and validate Arabic speaking instructional materials based on authentic dialogues from the television series Buhlul A‘qalul Majanin, integrated with digital learning platforms. The research subjects were students at Al-Kautsar Islamic Boarding School in Kraksaan, Probolinggo, who lacked standardized instructional materials and experienced challenges in developing their speaking skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The instructional product developed, titled “كَلِّمْنِي يَا بَهْلُوْل!” (Speak to Me, Buhlul!), was designed thematically and communicatively, supported by interactive, digitally accessible features. Expert validation results indicated that the instructional material was highly feasible, scoring an average of 83% from the content expert and 91% from the media expert. The product was implemented with 20 students, showing improved engagement and speaking performance. The student response questionnaire also indicated a very high level of satisfaction, with an average score of 91 out of 100, reflecting strong acceptance and engagement. Furthermore, the results of the pre-test and post-test showed a significant improvement, with the average score increasing from 53.55 to 85.1. The n-Gain score indicated moderate to high learning gains.These findings suggest that the developed material is both relevant and effective for enhancing Arabic speaking skills in a pesantren (Islamic boarding school) context, particularly one supported by digital learning environments.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on problems that occurred in Indonesia where the form of evaluation to find out student learning outcomes is only based on intellectual intelligence and does not include multiple intelligences as a whole. So that the resulting scores can be said to be invalid by looking at the diverse intelligence backgrounds of students. Therefore, the researcher seeks to provide an overview of the form of the question through this paper. Teachers can use the form of questions according to the diverse intelligence of students with the aim of validly measuring student learning outcomes. This research aims to develop an assessment for learning the Arabic language based on the multiple intelligences initiated by Howard Gardner. This study uses a qualitative approach with desk research type. This research consists of identifying literature sources, collecting data, analyzing data, verifying and interpreting, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that assessing Arabic language learning based on multiple intelligence should not only be done with tests, but also with non-test activities. Because the assessment in the form of tests includes only linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence, as well as visual-spatial intelligence. As for other intelligences, it is possible to conduct assessments in the form of tests other than tests. Apart from intellectual intelligence, there is also emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. The scores resulting from the evaluation of these two intelligences are included in the evaluation of students' attitudes.

Abstract

Asesmen formatif merupakan evaluasi sistematis terhadap proses pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi proses pengembangan instrumen asesmen formatif menggunakan teka-teki kata dan aplikasinya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Dengan menggunakan kombinasi metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif, pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan pengujian, dengan analisis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa instrumen asesmen yang dirancang memiliki validitas konten yang kuat dan sejalan dengan kurikulum. Namun, analisis hasil asesmen mengungkap tingkat penguasaan kosakata yang rendah di kalangan siswa, bersamaan dengan kesalahan dan kelemahan yang teridentifikasi, seperti penggunaan huruf kosakata yang tidak tepat dalam menulis. Instrumen asesmen formatif yang dikembangkan terbukti efisien dan efektif dalam menggambarkan kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab khsusunya dalam penguasaan kosakata yang masih perlu ditingkatkan kedepannya. Wawasan yang diperoleh dari analisis asesmen formatif ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar untuk peningkatan pembelajaran bahasa Arab di masa depan, khususnya dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata.

Abstract

Peradaban Islam dimulai dengan diangkatnya Nabi Muhammad SAW sebagai nabi dan rasul. Di antara berbagai dinasti yang muncul dalam sejarah Islam, Dinasti Turki Utsmani menonjol sebagai salah satu kerajaan yang paling lama berkuasa dan memiliki wilayah yang luas, termasuk sejumlah besar wilayah di Eropa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik intelektual yang berkembang selama era Turki Utsmani. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah peninjauan literatur, yang meliputi analisis buku, artikel, catatan, dan laporan yang relevan dengan topik ini. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah bahwa peradaban Islam di Turki Utsmani tidak terlepas dari pengaruh peradaban Islam Arab dan Persia, yang memberikan warisan yang mendalam bagi masyarakat setempat. Sebagai kesultanan Islam, Turki Utsmani berperan sebagai tulang punggung kekuatan Islam pada masa itu. Beberapa tokoh intelektual terkemuka, seperti Imam Syafi'i, Ibrahim Sinasi, Mustafa Kemal, dan Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, memainkan peran penting dalam perkembangan pemikiran dan kebudayaan selama pemerintahan Utsman. Dari zaman Nabi Muhammad SAW hingga era Khilafah Abbasiyah, Islam telah menunjukkan berbagai kemajuan dan kemenangan, yang tercermin dalam kontribusi intelektual para tokoh tersebut.
