Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of learning strategies on the learning outcomes of vocational high school students in Indonesia. This study used a meta-analysis approach. Data were collected from Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar in February 2025. Keywords used Indonesian with a combination of "learning strategies", "field of expertise" and "learning outcomes of vocational high school students". The data entered were effect size, and standard error to produce a forest plot in which there were interval values for each study and conclusion. A total of 15 articles met the criteria for analysis. The results showed that the effect size was 0.576, there was a significant influence between learning strategies and learning outcomes. The results of the meta-analysis showed a cumulative effect size of 0.576, indicating a moderate positive effect of learning strategies on vocational high school students' learning outcomes. However, the results of the subgroup analysis showed that the Inquiry Learning strategy (effect size = -0.959, 95% CI [-3.248, 1.331], p> 0.05) and Think-Pair-Share (effect size = -0.886, 95% CI [-3.188, 1.416], p> 0.05) had not shown a statistically significant effect because the confidence interval included the value of zero. Likewise, the areas of expertise of Manufacturing and Engineering Technology and Information Technology showed results that were not yet statistically significant. These findings provide an illustration that although learning strategies have the potential to improve learning outcomes in general, the specific effectiveness of certain strategies requires further study with a wider range of data.

Abstract

Digital literacy equips prospective teachers with essential information and communication technology (ICT) skills, while interpersonal communication enables them to interact effectively with students and the community. However, the impact of these skills on the readiness of prospective teachers, especially in the Automotive Engineering Education Study Program, has not been widely studied. This study attempts to examine how digital literacy influences students' readiness to become teachers in this study program. A quantitative approach was used in this study, the data collection process used the help of an online questionnaire with a population of 2019 and 2020 PTO students with a sample determined by the Slovin method of 62 students. The results showed an R2 value of 0.389, which means 38.9% of the variance in teacher readiness can be explained by digital literacy. In addition, a positive correlation (R = 0.623) is shown in the relationship between variables. Meanwhile, the coefficient B of digital literacy is 0.373. This indicates that as the digital literacy and interpersonal communication skills of PTO students of Semarang State University increase, their readiness to become teachers also increases. The conclusion from this study is that digital literacy and interpersonal communication have a significant effect on the readiness of prospective teachers of PTO students of Semarang State University.

Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a touch sensor-based motorcycle safety system that integrates microcontroller technology and fingerprint sensors. The background of the research is based on the high rate of motorcycle theft in Indonesia, as well as the weak conventional security system that is easy to break into. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) which includes the design, design validation, product manufacturing, and performance test stages. The development process includes problem identification, literature study, design design (electronic and mechanical), design validation and revision, product manufacturing, product validation and revision, system performance test, and data analysis. The system is designed using Arduino Nano and R503 fingerprint sensors, with the aim of restricting vehicle access to only verified users. The results of the study show that the developed safety system is able to limit vehicle access only to users whose fingerprints have been verified. Based on the feasibility test by experts and users, the system obtained a score of 90% on the design and feasibility aspects, and 85% on the performance test. These results show that the system is feasible to use and functions optimally. It was concluded that this fingerprint sensor-based motorcycle safety system is effective as an additional safety alternative to prevent theft. Further development can be done by adding features such as alarms, GPS tracking, and mobile app integration.

Abstract

With 64.97% of its territory consisting of sea, Indonesia is one of the world's largest maritime nations and produces approximately 8.02 million tons of fish annually. Traditional fishing vessels play a crucial role in supporting livelihoods, yet their design is often based on hereditary methods rather than hydrodynamic optimization. This study uses catamaran hull forms as a design reference to analyze the total resistance and wave patterns of purse seine vessels with photovoltaic-powered systems. Computational methods are employed to predict vessel performance efficiently. The resistance analysis applies the Slender Body approach and Savitsky's mathematical model, supported by comparative studies for validation. Particular attention is given to the influence of chine configurations on resistance characteristics and wave formation. Results indicate that the addition of chines increases the Froude number and contributes to reducing total resistance. Among the variations, single chine geometry demonstrates the lowest resistance, making it the most efficient configuration for catamaran fishing vessels. While chine modifications affect the wave pattern, the hull maintains a relatively clean wake distribution. These findings highlight the potential for improving vessel design through careful chine geometry optimization combined with computational modeling. The study underscores the importance of modern hydrodynamic analysis in advancing traditional fishing vessels toward higher efficiency and sustainability. Future research is recommended to incorporate more advanced computational approaches, such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), examine water-hull interactions and enhance vessel performance under operational conditions.

Abstract

Abstract

Diesel engines are essential for transporting heavy loads, requiring significant engine power. This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding PTT (diesel fuel conditioner) additives to Dexlite fuel, focusing on mixtures of D0, D1, and D2. Additionally, variations in fuel pre-heating and engine cooling system fluids are examined. This research employs an experimental approach with descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that the optimal torque occurs with the D2 mixture, achieving 136.57 N·m at 2267 rpm with standard coolant, 152.03 N·m at 2100 rpm with a 50%:50% fluid ratio, and 160.70 N·m at 2033 rpm with a 30%:70% fluid ratio, all without pre-heating. The optimal power values for the D2 mixture are 74.60 HP at 4600 rpm with standard fluid, 75.23 HP at 4100 rpm with a 50%:50% fluid ratio, and 78.03 HP at 4000 rpm with a 30%:70% fluid ratio, also without pre-heating. The average results show that the D1 and D2 mixtures improve torque values by 0.77% and 4.75%, respectively, and enhance power by 0.19% and 1.53% compared to pure Dexlite. In contrast, pre-heating at 50°C, 60°C, and 70°C resulted in a decrease in torque of 1.00%, 2.26%, and 3.62%, respectively, and a reduction in power of 0.56%, 2.29%, and 4.79% compared to normal temperature conditions.
