Abstract

Traditional learning media remain prevalent due to the limited utilization of Android-based platforms among students as an instructional tool, necessitating an update in information delivery methods. The integration of technology in teaching materials aims to address this gap. This study seeks to implement Android-based interactive multimedia using the Problem Based Learning model to enhance students learning outcomes in understanding the working principles of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The research follows the ADDIE development model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study involved 72 tenth grade students from the Welding and Metal Fabrication Engineering program, divided into control and experimental groups. The findings indicate that the application of Android-based interactive multimedia significantly increased students learning interest, with an initial average score of 63.194 rising to 73.889. T-test results revealed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores, with a significance value (2-tailed) of p = 0.00 < 0.05 and a t-value of 6.504. The hypothesis testing confirms that the use of Android-based interactive multimedia positively influences the learning outcomes of tenth grade students in the Welding and Metal Fabrication Engineering program at SMK Negeri 1 Adiwerna. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of Android-based interactive multimedia effectively enhances students understanding of SMAW welding principles.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to address the heat increase in the battery, ensuring it remains below   40°C   through a cooling   system.   Through   Computational   Fluid   Dynamics (CFD) simulations, the impact of using Aluminium 6061, Aluminium Duralumin, and Copper, as well as the effects of cooling fluids H2O and Ethylene Glycol on the battery pack cooling system, are analyzed.  Data collection is conducted using Solidworks 2022 with the Flow Simulation feature, followed by a descriptive statistical analysis to identify the optimal cooling system for the battery pack. Simulation results indicate the most optimal performance at an inlet speed of 3 m/s. For H2O, Copper maintains a temperature of 37.14°C, while Aluminium 6061 and Aluminium Duralumin reach temperatures of 37.36°C and 37.34°C, respectively. In the case of Ethylene Glycol at a speed of 3 m/s, Copper records a temperature of 194.75°C, while Aluminium 6061 and Aluminium Duralumin achieve temperatures of 197.94°C and 195.34°C, respectively.  Based on this research, Copper and H2O are identified as the best choices.

Abstract

The rapid evolution of technology has transformed the automotive industry, transitioning from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. This study focuses on developing a body electrical system for electric motorcycles by integrating components like lead-acid batteries, pulse-width modulation (PWM) controllers, waterproof DS18B20 temperature sensors, DC-DC converters, and energy-efficient LED lighting. The system is designed to comply with Indonesia’s National Standards (SNI). Employing the 4D research methodology (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), the electrical system underwent rigorous validation and testing. Results highlight enhanced performance, improved energy efficiency, and effective thermal management. The integration of a temperature control system reduced the risk of overheating, ensuring safety and operational reliability. This research contributes to advancing EV technology, offering a framework for optimizing body electrical systems for electric motorcycles in compliance with safety and performance standards

Abstract

Karang Taruna adalah salah satu organisasi pemuda yang keberadaanya terstruktur merata di seluruh Indonesia dari tingkat RT/RW, desa/kelurahan, dan kecamatan. Pemuda penerus bangsa sangat terbiasa dengan pemanfaatan teknologi terkini di bidang TIK, salah satunya adalah teknologi Virtual Reality (VR). Pada kegiatan program pengabdian dosen kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dengan media interaktif berbasis VR kepada pemuda karang taruna tentang teknologi Biopori. Teknologi Biopori merupakan salah satu alternatif pencegah banjir yang dapat dilakukan oleh seluruh khalayak masyarakat dengan membuat lubang resapan di sekitar lingkungannya. Bencana banjir yang kerap melanda kota Semarang disebabkan salah satunya oleh resapan air yang sudah jauh berkurang jumlahnya. Oleh sebab itu, apabila terjadi hujan dengan intensitas sedang dalam kurun waktu lama, akan menyebabkan banjir. Pemberian edukasi akan lebih mengena kepada anak muda khususnya pemuda karang taruna dengan memberikan sosialiasi teknologi biopori. Hasil yang telah didapatkan adalah para peserta merasa sangat antusias dengan teknologi Virtual Reality (VR) karena dapat menggambarkan kondisi yang sebenarnya walaupun melalui sebuah film. Selain itu, para pemuda karang taruna menjadi paham dan mengerti tentang teknologi Biopori dapat mencegah banjir. Oleh sebab itu, sosialisasi kepada masyarakat khususnya tentang teknologi biopori sangat tepat diberikan dengan teknologi VR khusunya bagi pemuda karang taruna.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop gamification-based learning media operated through the Android platform and test its effectiveness on student learning outcomes. The research method used is the ADDIE model, which involves five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This means that researchers conduct analysis, researchers make designs for learning media so that students are not bored while learning, researchers develop media that are more interesting than previous research, researchers implement by making learning media, and evaluate to develop further research. Validation of this gamification learning media was carried out by linguists, material experts, and media experts. The trial was conducted on students of class XI TKR 1 and 2 at Mataram Semarang Vocational High School, with a total of 61 students. The data analysis of this research was conducted using a t-test. The results of this study showed that: (1) The validation results from linguists amounted to 95%, material experts amounted to 90.5%, and media experts amounted to 87.2%, meaning that the gamification learning media developed proved to be very feasible to use in learning so that students are not saturated and bored. (2) The average pre-test score was 65.44, and after learning using the gamification application, the average score was 79.56, with an increase of 14.12, and the t-test results showed a p-value of 0.00 <0.05, which means that gamification learning media has a significant impact on improving learning outcomes and increasing student interest in learning. (3) The use of gamification learning media as learning media is very good for students, as it allows students to be more independent in learning and not only rely on explanations from teachers.

Abstract

AbstrakPentingnya penguasaan teknologi bagi siswa Teknik Elektronika Industri di SMKN 4 Semarang dapat diwujudkan melalui pelatihan perakitan quadcopter yang mendukung pemahaman dan praktik langsung dalam menghadapi perkembangan teknologi. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah agar siswa dapat belajar dan memiliki pengetahuan dalam bidang elektronika, khususnya pemahaman terkait quadcopter. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi merumuskan masalah, menentukan komponen, penyampaian materi, praktik merakit, dan praktik menerbangkan quadcopter. Pelatihan perakitan quadcopter diadakan pada hari kamis, 25 April 2024, di SMKN 4 Semarang, dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak empat puluh siswa. Pelatihan berhasil membuka wawasan bagi siswa SMKN 4 Semarang untuk mengembangkan kompetensi elektronika dengan mengetahui komponen, cara merakit, dan cara menerbangkan quadcopter.  Kata kunci: elektronika; kompetensi; quadcopter; pelatihan; perakitan AbstractThe importance of mastering technology for Industrial Electronics Engineering students at SMKN 4 Semarang can be realized through quadcopter assembly training that supports understanding and direct practice in dealing with technological developments. The purpose of this service activity is for students to learn and have knowledge in the field of electronics, especially understanding related to quadcopters. The implementation method includes observation, formulating problems, delivering material, practicing assembling, and practicing flying the quadcopter. The quadcopter assembly training was held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at SMKN 4 Semarang, with forty students participating. The training succeeded in opening insights for SMKN 4 Semarang students to develop electronic competencies by knowing the components, how to assemble, and how to fly the quadcopter.  Keywords: electronics; competency; quadcopter; service; assembly

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of learning facilities and learning environment on student learning outcomes in the Vocational Learning Evaluation course, as well as to determine the role of learning motivation mediation. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique totaling 69 students of the Automotive Engineering Education Study Program, Semarang State University (UNNES) class of 2022 who took the Vocational Learning Evaluation course. The research will be carried out in the fifth semester of 2024. Data processing is carried out using the SmartPLS 4 application. The research instrument is in the form of a questionnaire that has been validated by experts. This study tested direct and indirect (intervening) hypotheses, with independent variables, namely learning facilities (X1) and learning environment (X2), dependent variables of learning outcomes (Z1), and learning motivation (Y1) as intervening variables. Data analysis included convergent validity tests, discriminant validity, reliability estimation, R-Square values, F-Square, hypothesis tests, and Goodness of Fit (GoF). The results of the study show that the model used is reliable. The path coefficient between learning facilities and learning outcomes was 0.377, learning facilities to learning motivation was 0.317, learning environment to learning outcomes was 0.312, learning environment to learning motivation was 0.527, and learning motivation to learning outcomes was 0.282. The total indirect effects between learning facilities and learning outcomes were 0.089, while between learning environment and learning outcomes were 0.149. Positive values in each relationship indicate a positive influence between variables. The results of this study prove that learning motivation plays a significant role as a mediating variable in influencing student learning outcomes. These findings emphasize the importance of providing adequate learning facilities and a conducive learning environment to increase student motivation and learning outcomes in the Vocational Learning Evaluation course.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy and learning competency on students’ learning outcomes in the Learning Planning and Microteaching course, both directly and through learning motivation as an intervening variable. The research also explores how self-efficacy and learning readiness affect students’ motivation to learn and how this motivation contributes to improved learning outcomes. This quantitative study involved 69 students of the Automotive Engineering Education Program at Semarang State University and was conducted from January to September 2025. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed with SmartPLS 4, including tests of validity, reliability, R-square, F-square, and Goodness of Fit (GoF). The results revealed that hypotheses H2, H4, H5, H6, and H7 were accepted with significance values below 0.05, indicating significant relationships among the tested variables. Specifically, self-efficacy significantly affected learning motivation, while learning readiness had a significant impact on both motivation and learning outcomes through the mediating role of learning motivation. The GoF value of 0.684 indicates that the model demonstrates a strong overall fit, suggesting that the combined outer and inner model performance is in the high category. These findings highlight the essential role of motivation as a bridge between self-efficacy, learning competency, and academic achievement in vocational teacher education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct a meta-analysis that measures the influence of several learning models such as cooperative learning, project-based learning, and problem-based learning. Data were collected from previous articles gathered through Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar. Keywords used combinations of learning models, cooperative learning, project-based learning, problem-based learning, learning motivation, learning motivation, and vocational high school (SMK). This meta-analysis research follows the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Data processed using JASP software included effect size and standard error to generate forest plots. The analysis results show an effect size value of 0.579, which means there is a quite significant influence between learning models and vocational high school students' learning motivation. Analysis by field of expertise shows results for information technology (0.704, 95% CI -0.369, 1.778), manufacturing and engineering technology (0.651, 95% CI -0.671, 1.972), and business and management (0.164, 95% CI -0.904, 1.232) are not yet significant because the p-value > 0.05. Analysis of learning model variables shows problem-based learning (0.338, 95% CI -0.709, 1.384), project-based learning (-0.283, 95% CI -1.377, 0.810), and cooperative learning (-0.356, 95% CI -2.095, 1.382) are less significant with p > 0.05. These results indicate that although learning models have the potential to increase learning motivation in general, the effectiveness of these models requires more in-depth study with broader data.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of learning media on the learning motivation of Vocational High School (SMK) students. The method used in this study is a meta-analysis with data collected through Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar in September 2025. The search keywords used Indonesian with a combination of the variables "learning media" (animation, video, PowerPoint, and teaching modules) and "learning motivation of vocational high school students". The data analyzed were in the form of Effect Size (ES) and Standard Error (SE) values ​​to produce a forest plot containing interval coefficients in each study. Calculations of heterogeneity, publication bias, and fail-safe N were also carried out to ensure the validity of the results. Of the 79 articles searched, 20 articles met the criteria for analysis. The results of the meta-analysis showed that learning media had a significant effect on student learning motivation with a summary effect of 0.849, z = 7.399, p < 0.001, and a 95% CI interval coefficient [0.624; 1.074]. Heterogeneity analysis yielded Q = 1065.072 with p < 0.001 and I² = 97.18% indicating a very high variation between studies. Subgroup analysis based on expertise program showed that Accounting and Finance had a value of -0.161 (95% CI [-0.617; 0.295]), while Automotive Engineering was 0.072 (95% CI [-1.081; 1.225]). Both were insignificant, as p > 0.05. Subgroup analysis based on learning media type also showed insignificant results: animation = 0.225 (95% CI [-1.020; 1.470]), teaching module = -0.125 (95% CI [-0.776; 0.526]), PowerPoint = 0.110 (95% CI [-0.574; 0.794]), and video = 0.215 (95% CI [-0.428; 0.859]). The Egger test showed a p value of 0.662, indicating no indication of publication bias. Furthermore, the fail-safe N value of 10,614 far exceeded the threshold of 110, confirming the reliability of this study. Overall, these findings emphasize the importance of utilizing learning media in increasing vocational high school students' learning motivation, although the effectiveness of specific media types still requires further study.
