Abstract

This study aims to assess the perceptions of cadets regarding the Learning Management System Platform so that its implementation is more optimal and can be implemented comprehensively and completely. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. In this study, the number of cadets sampled was 85 respondents or 49% of the population using a random sampling technique. The data collection technique used in this study was the questionnaire technique. The result of the study shows that it can be concluded that the cadets of the West Sumatra Maritime Polytechnic have a good perception of the Learning Management System. The Learning Management System can be used as an online learning management platform.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aimed to see the influence of peer-assisted learning and coping stress toward cadets’ learning engagement. This is a quantitative study with ex-post facto method. The research instrument was a questionnaire given to 334 samples. The data analysis technique used multiple linear analysis with the SPSS application. The results of the study showed that there was a positive influence of peer-assisted learning and stress coping towards cadets’ learning engagement. So, it can be recommended to organize a learning method with a peer assistance program, so that it can increase cadets’ learning engagement. Furthermore, universities can organize stress management training to help cadets cope with academic pressure effectively, so that cadets can be more proactive in learning activities. Although this study has been carried out optimally, there are several limitations to the study that can be used as recommendations for future research. This study used a quantitative approach, then researchers are advised to use a qualitative approach to explore the relationship between these three variables or assessed other variables. In addition, further research needs to consider other factors that influence student learning engagement, such as intrinsic motivation, teaching quality, and family support. Keyword: Learning Engagement; Peer-Assisted Learning; Stress Coping. Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh asistensi teman sebaya dan koping stres terhadap keterlibatan belajar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode ex-post facto. Instrumen penelitian adalah kuisioner yang diberikan kepada 334 sampel. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis linear berganda dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif asistensi teman sebaya dan koping stres terhadap keterlibatan belajar mahasiswa. Dari hasil penelitian ini maka dapat direkomendasikan penyelenggaraan metode pembelajaran dengan program asistensi teman sebaya sehingga dapat membantu meningkatkan keterlibatan belajar mahasiswa. Selanjutnya, perguruan tinggi dapat menyelenggarakan pelatihan manajemen stres untuk membantu mahasiswa mengatasi tekanan akademik secara efektif, sehingga mahasiswa dapat lebih proaktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Walaupun penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan secara maksimal, namun terdapat beberapa keterbatasan penelitian yang dapat dijadikan sebagai rekomendasi penelitian pada masa yang akan datang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif saja, peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk menggali lebih dalam keterkaitan ketiga variabel ini atau mengkaji variabel lainnya. Selain itu, penelitian selanjutnya perlu mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhi keterlibatan belajar mahasiswa, seperti motivasi instrinsik, kualitas pengajaran, dan dukungan keluarga. Kata Kunci: Keterlibatan Belajar; Asistensi Teman Sebaya; Koping Stres.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Inaportnet on the effectiveness of ship entry and exit permits at PT Oremus Bahari Mandiri Surabaya. Data collection was carried out at PT Oremus Bahari Mandiri Surabaya in June 2019 by means of observation, study documentation, and distributing questionnaires. The collected data was processed using simple linear regression analysis techniques, validity test, reliability test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that Inaportnet at PT Oremus Bahari Mandiri Surabaya has been running well with an R2 value of 0.804 or 80.4% Inaportnet has an effect on the effectiveness of Clearance in/out Ships at PT Oremus Bahari Mandiri Surabaya.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the use of the Extraordinary Computer-Based Test (CBT) application in assessing the HTML Programming course at the Politeknik Pelayaran Sumatera Barat. The method used is quantitative with a program evaluation design based on the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The subjects of the study consisted of 62 third-semester students from the eighth batch of 2024, divided into three classes. Data were collected through learning achievement tests, questionnaires, and practical assessment rubrics, focusing on the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The results of the study indicate that the CBT application is effective in improving students' learning outcomes. The average score for the cognitive aspect reached 83, with the highest scores in the structure and development of HTML applications. The affective evaluation showed positive student responses to CBT, with an affective aspect score of 82, while the psychomotor evaluation showed adequate practical skills with a score of 80. This study reveals that CBT enhances the effectiveness of assessments and enriches students' learning experiences by providing real-time feedback and more personalized guidance. The findings contribute to the development of technology-based learning tools and offer practical solutions to improve the quality of education. Furthermore, this study concludes that CBT can improve the quality of evaluation and learning in HTML programming and recommends further development to integrate other technologies into the learning process.

Abstract

This community service was motivated by several problems in the partners, namely the teaching and learning process of Maritime English Subjects is not optimal because there is no textbooks that can be used by teachers and students. In addition, schools need enrichment in terms of learning media to increase students' enthusiasm for independent learning. This community service aimed to provide solutions to teachers and students through the Maritime English for Ratings Forming learning media. The method used is by socializing the use of Maritime English for Ratings Forming learning media. The subjects of the community service were teachers and students. The data collection method used interview or discussion session with the participants. The instrumentation used interview guidelines. The data analysis used three stages namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this community service prove that the Maritime English for Ratings Forming textbook can be used by teachers as teaching media, while it can be used by students as learning media. Students will get used to learn independently, because there are guidelines in the textbook that are suitable with the learning curriculum objectives. Students' maritime English knowledge and skills will increase with the availability of learning resources. The school's need for learning media enrichment can be met. The Maritime English for Ratings Forming textbook is one of the maritime English learning media that can be given to each student.

Abstract

As governed in Ministerial Regulation No. 33 of 2021, the harbourmaster is a state official at the port with the most authority in managing the safety and security of shipping. This research aimed to analyse the role of Port Authority and Harbourmaster Office (KSOP) Class I Tanjung Emas in ensuring the safety and security of ships anchored at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang. This research utilizes qualitative methods using observation, interview, documentation, and literature study. The messages report that the functioning of the inaportnet system rationalizes ship arrivals and departures administration, while enforcement of national and international regulations, like the ISPS Code, escalates surveillance and port security. KSOP's function is significant, both as an emergency regulator and coordinator, law enforcement agent, and enforcer of secure and orderly port facilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to conceptually analyze the problem-based learning model in improving students' critical thinking skill. The research method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The type of research was library research. Data collection techniques by collecting and analyzing documents descriptively, both written, image and electronic documents. The research results obtained were then presented descriptively in accordance with the research problems and objectives. The results of this research showed that the conceptual analysis of the problem-based learning model in improving students' critical thinking skill, namely Problem-based learning is a learning model that uses problems as a starting point for learning. In other words, problem-based learning is a problem-centered learning activity, Problem-based learning is a learning model that involves students to solve a problem through the stages of the scientific method so that students can learn knowledge related to the problem and at the same time have the skills to solve problems,  a learning model that uses real-world problems. This learning model aims to encourage students to learn through various real problems in everyday life that are related to the knowledge they have or will learn;, Problem-based learning model is a learning model that involves dominant student activities, the teacher acts as a facilitator.

Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial telah menjadi fenomena yang tidak terelakkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, termasuk di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi dampak penggunaan media sosial dalam proses pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi melalui metode studi literatur. Dengan fokus pada interaksi mahasiswa-dosen, motivasi belajar, dan akses terhadap sumber daya pembelajaran digital, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang peran media sosial dalam transformasi pendidikan tinggi. Dari hasil analisis literatur, ditemukan bahwa penggunaan media sosial mendorong terjadinya interaksi mahasiswa-dosen yang lebih intensif di luar ruang kelas. Grup diskusi online dan forum akademis menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran terbuka dan kolaboratif. Selain itu, media sosial juga memengaruhi motivasi belajar mahasiswa dengan memberikan dukungan untuk partisipasi aktif dalam diskusi, tugas, dan kegiatan akademis lainnya. Namun, tantangan juga muncul seiring dengan keuntungan tersebut. Distraksi dan penggunaan media sosial yang tidak produktif dapat menghambat fokus mahasiswa dalam tugas akademis utama. Selain itu, distribusi akses yang tidak merata terhadap sumber daya pembelajaran online menyoroti perlunya memastikan ketersediaan dan kesetaraan akses bagi seluruh mahasiswa. Sebagai kata kunci dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran berbasis media sosial, perlu diperhatikan pedoman penggunaan yang terstruktur serta pelatihan untuk mahasiswa dan dosen terkait manajemen waktu dan penggunaan yang produktif. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam merancang kebijakan dan pedoman yang mendukung penggunaan media sosial secara efektif di lingkungan perguruan tinggi, menciptakan pengalaman pembelajaran yang inovatif dan responsif.
