Abstract

Since the discontinuation of national examinations (UN) in 2020, the Indonesian Government introduced the Minimum Competency Assessment (Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum-AKM) to assess students' fundamental abilities. Consequently, teachers are pivotal in integrating AKM-based reading literacy questions to enhance students' reading skills. This study aims to explore teachers' perceptions, practices, and assessment literacy needs concerning teaching and assessing students' reading literacy based on AKM. Ten EFL junior high school teachers participated in interviews. Findings revealed varying perceptions among teachers regarding AKM. While some supported the policy for its positive impact on students and learning, others doubted its effectiveness for certain reasons. In terms of teaching and assessment practices, most teachers partially integrate the three components of AKM reading literacy into their classrooms. They also utilize various stimuli and question types similar to those in AKM, yet complex multiple-choice assessments are underutilized. Lastly, teachers expressed diverse literacy assessment needs, including strategies for teaching reading, designing critical reading questions, creating stimulus materials, gaining AKM knowledge, enhancing student interest in reading, and identifying intended learning outcomes to improve their teaching and evaluation of students' literacy.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning (SRL) is an essential skill for university students, empowering them to manage their academic endeavors through goal-setting, self-monitoring, and reflection. This study explores the implementation of SRL strategies to promote learner autonomy, focusing on the interplay of technology, culture, and education. Using qualitative methods, the research analyzed data from interviews, observations, and document analysis involving students and educators. Findings reveal that while students excel in goal-setting (75%), engagement in monitoring (60%) and reflection (25%) remains limited, inhibiting the full SRL cycle. Challenges such as unfamiliarity with SRL (60%), poor time management (50%), and inadequate feedback (40%) further hinder adoption. Educators emphasize SRL in feedback and goal-setting (80%) but struggle with embedding it comprehensively in curricula (50%). The study highlights technology's potential to scaffold SRL through tools that enhance feedback, progress tracking, and personalized learning. To foster learner autonomy, the research recommends structured training for students, professional development for educators, and curriculum realignment to address cultural and systemic barriers. These insights aim to advance inclusive, learner-centered environments in higher education

Abstract

Karakteristik tomat dengan kulitnya yang lembut mudah rusak saat mendapat tekanan, dan gesekan karena kondisi jalan yang rusak pada saat pengangkutan atau faktor mekanis lainnya.. Sifatnya yang perishable berpengaruh terhadap mutu fisik tomat terutama persentase kerusakan, susut bobot, kadar air, dan perubahan warna. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama transportasi terhadap mutu fisik tomat. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Pasca Panen Fakultas Pertanian dan Peternakan UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Bulan September-Oktober 2020. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan (P1=0 jam transportasi (kontrol), P2=4 jam transportasi, P3=8 jam transportasi) dengan enam ulangan. Parameter pengamatan yaitu persentase kerusakan, susut bobot, kadar air (basis basah) dan warna. Data analisis  sidik ragam yang berpengaruh nyata  dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Duncan. Hasil penelitian lama transportasi menunjukkan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap persentase kerusakan, susut bobot dan kadar air, dan  lama transportasi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap perubahan warna. Kesimpulan, lama 4 jam transportasi dan 8 jam transportasi berpengaruh terhadap sifat fisik, meliputi persentase kerusakan, susut bobot, dan kadar air. Tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap perubahan warna tomat.

Abstract

This research comprised two variables, communication ability of Islamic education subject teacher as X (independent) variable and student learning activeness as Y(dependent) variable. This research aimed at knowing whether there was a significantinfluence of communication ability of Islamic education subject toward student learning activeness at State Junior High School 1 Tanah Putih Tanjun Melawan, Rokan Hilir Regency. This research was a Correlation. The subjects of this research were all students. The teacher 2 of population all of the eighth-grade students class VII and VIII (243 students) and an Islamic education subject teacher were the population of this research, The sample is 1 teacher and 54 students. Proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used in this research. Questionnaire, observation, and documentation were used to collect the data. The technique of analyzing the data was Product moment correlation. SPSS 16.0 for Windows program was used to analyze the data. Based on the data analysis, there was a significantinfluence that the index obtained was 0.455 and rtable was 0.2681 at 5% significant level and 0.3477 at 1% significant level. It meant that robserved was higher than rtable, it could be described as 0.2681<0.455>0.3477. Thus, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It meant that there was a significantinfluence of communication ability of Islamic education subject teacher toward student learning activeness at State Junior High School 1 Tanah PutihTanjungMelawan, RokanHilir Regency.

Abstract

Terung merupakan sayuran bergizi tinggi yang berpotensi mendukung ketahanan pangan keluarga melalui budi daya di pekarangan rumah. Namun, sebagian besar pekarangan warga di Perumahan Asta Karya, Panam, belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran Masyarakat khususnya ibu rumah tangga dalam budi daya terung di lahan pekarangan secara sederhana dan ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 15 peserta dengan latar belakang ekonomi menengah ke bawah, dimana 87% belum pernah menanam terung sebelumnya dan sebagian besar memiliki pengeluaran rutin membeli sayur antara Rp50.000–Rp300.000 per bulan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi silaturrahim dengan warga, penyuluhan tentang pentingnya budi daya terung, praktik penanaman menggunakan wadah plastik bekas, serta pendampingan selama masa pertumbuhan tanaman. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap teknik budi daya terung sebesar 32% berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test, serta pertumbuhan tanaman yang optimal dengan rata-rata tinggi 28,3 cm pada minggu keempat. Program ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan kesadaran peserta terhadap pemanfaatan lahan sempit, menghemat pengeluaran rumah tangga, serta menumbuhkan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan melalui penggunaan kembali limbah plastik dan pupuk organik. Dengan demikian, pelatihan budi daya terung di pekarangan rumah efektif sebagai strategi pemberdayaan masyarakat perkotaan dalam mendukung kemandirian pangan keluarga dan menciptakan lingkungan hijau yang berkelanjutan

Abstract

This study investigates lecturers’ pedagogical responses to student challenges in processing information for oral presentation skills in the era of artificial intelligence. Employing a qualitative case study design with thematic analysis, the study involved eight lecturers and 62 students from three private universities in Cimahi, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and analysed using Braun and Clarke’s six-phase thematic framework. The findings reveal that 1) all lecturer participants (100%) reported an erosion of students’ oral communication skills, manifested in a gap between high-quality visual artifacts and weak verbal performance, deficits in spontaneous responses, and degradation of non-verbal communication, indicating the role of artificial intelligence as a cognitive crutch, 2) lecturers responded to these challenges by diversifying pedagogical strategies, particularly through explicit AI usage policies (100%), intensified oral validation via spontaneous question-and-answer sessions (87.5%), and process-oriented assessment (75%), and 3) student responses were ambivalent, with the majority (77.4%) perceiving the new assessment approaches as fairer and more transparent, while a minority (22.6%) expressed resistance related to performance anxiety. These findings suggest that the most effective response to AI-related challenges is not the prohibition of technology, but a pedagogical redesign that prioritizes process validation, human interaction, and assessment security to maintain rigorous academic standards in Indonesian higher education.

Abstract

Limited evidence exists on how platform-specific AI feedback functions in secondary EFL writing assessment—especially regarding its connections to learners’ motivation and self-confidence. This mixed-methods study used a one-group pre–post design with 35 Indonesian secondary EFL students during regular classes, integrating Ginger Writer. Motivation items were adapted from Schmidt & Watanabe, and self-confidence items from Bandura; both scales used 5-point Likert responses and showed good internal consistency. Semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and non-participant observations explored students’ experiences with AI feedback during drafting and revision. Quantitatively, motivation increased significantly (pre: M=20.9, post: M=22.1; t(34)=−2.32, p=.026, Cohen’s d₍z₎≈0.39), while self-confidence rose modestly but not significantly (pre: M=20.7, post: M=21.5; t(34)=−1.80, p=.081, d₍z₎≈0.30). Qualitative data showed students describing immediate, non-judgmental feedback that supported iterative revision, error noticing, and sustained effort, along with limitations such as connectivity issues and the need for teacher mediation to interpret suggestions. Triangulation suggests that quick, actionable feedback is linked to increased motivation during revision cycles, whereas confidence may require more extended exposure and scaffolding. The study indicates that schools can feasibly incorporate platform-specific AI feedback into formative writing assessment when combined with teacher guidance and reliable access; policy should support teacher professional development and infrastructure to enable equitable implementation.

Abstract

This research aims to produce Google site products and to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the Google site. This research was carried out in class IV of the 101771 Tembung State Elementary School. This research is Research & Development (R&D) research using the ADDIE model, namely (Analysis), Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Google site product development validation is developed based on material expert assessments. and media experts. Based on the results of material expert validation in stage 1, media expert validation results before revision had an average of 88% in the Very Appropriate category. After revision, material expert validation results had an average of 98% in the very appropriate category. Results media expert validation before revision, obtained a percentage of 56% in the Fairly Appropriate category. After revision, the media expert validation results obtained a percentage of 90% in the Very Appropriate category. The results of the practicality of Google site development were implemented through small group trials and large group trials. Response students in small group trials, obtained an average of 92% in the very applicable category. Teacher responses in small group trials obtained an average of 80% in the very applicable category. Student responses in large group trials obtained an average of 97% in the very applicable category. Teacher responses in large group trials obtained an average of 97% in the very applicable category. Product effectiveness results are based on calculating the results of students' pretest and posttest scores. The students' pretest scores obtained a classical average score of 69 with incomplete criteria. Meanwhile, students' posttest scores obtained a classical average score of 93 with complete criteria. So it can be concluded that the use of Google site as a learning medium in class IV of the 101771 Tembung State Elementary School is very effective. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation  of  online  learning at karang jaya Musi Rawas utara Junior High School which carried  out online learning during covid-19 pandemic. This type  of research  is qualitative. Implementation  of  online learning  at Karang Jaya Musi Rawas Utara  Junior high school :(a) educators  use a strategy  of  utilizing teaching time, then  teachers also provide reinforcement and enrichment  using  online media (b) the teaching  method used  is collaboration  between  face-to-face learning and  teaching  methods online learning (c) the learning  media used  are  electronic media and the used of online based aplications such as WhatApp,Google Meet and  Zoom.
