Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini didasari oleh masih rendahnya pemahaman guru terkait desain pembelajaran berbasis etnosains melalui refleksi budaya lokal, serta kecenderungan guru yang masih mengandalkan buku guru sebagai acuan utama dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Tujuannya ialah meningkatkan pemahaman guru SD tentang etnosains dan keterampilan menyusun desain pembelajaran berbasis etnosains melalui refleksi budaya lokal Pacitan. Pelaksanaan PKM dilakukan melalui metode pelatihan yang mencakup tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, serta evaluasi. Sasarannya ialah 35 guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Pacitan, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Evaluasi diukur menggunakan angket. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 98,5% guru berhasil merancang desain pembelajaran berbasis etnosains dengan memanfaatkan refleksi budaya lokal Kabupaten Pacitan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan yang diberikan kepada para guru di Kabupaten Pacitan berhasil meningkatkan kompetensi mereka dalam merancang desain pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital learning medium in the form of a Heyzine-based flipbook on the topic of the human respiratory system and to analyze the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the media in improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research employed a Research and Development method using the 4D development model consisting of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The study was conducted in two classes. trial class with twenty four students and dissemination class with thirty students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed media. The findings indicate that the Heyzine-based digital flipbook learning media achieved a very high level of feasibility according to evaluations by material and media experts. Furthermore, the developed media was considered practical for use in classroom learning and effective in improving students' learning outcomes on the human respiratory system topic. Therefore, the Heyzine-based digital flipbook can serve as an innovative learning medium to support science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya pemahaman guru sekolah dasar dalam menyusun asesmen literasi matematis yang dapat digunakan sebagai instrumen diagnostik awal untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan peserta didik. Asesmen yang digunakan guru selama ini masih didominasi oleh soal yang mengukur penguasaan konsep, sehingga belum mampu memberikan gambaran komprehensif mengenai kemampuan siswa dalam bernalar, memecahkan masalah, dan menerapkan konsep matematika dalam berbagai konteks kehidupan. Tujuan PKM ini adalah meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun asesmen literasi matematis melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Metode PKM terdiri atas tahap perencanaan dan persiapan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, serta evaluasi dan monitoring. Sasaran kegiatan adalah guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Trenggalek, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Pelaksanaan PKM dilaksanakan selama dua bulan pada Juli–Agustus 2023. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan lembar angket, sedangkan hasil kegiatan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil PKM menunjukkan bahwa guru mengalami peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam menyusun asesmen literasi matematis yang kontekstual, valid, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik sekolah dasar sebagai dasar pelaksanaan diagnostik awal pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, pelaksanaan pelatihan dan pendampingan mampu meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun asesmen literasi matematis untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan berpusat pada kebutuhan belajar siswa.

Abstract

21st-century science education demands the development of critical thinking skills. However, field realities, such as observations at SDN Dungkek I, indicate that learning remains dominated by textbook dependence without contextual modification. This leads to low student engagement and an inability to connect scientific concepts with local culture. This study aims to analyze the potential and effectiveness of integrating ethnoscience into science modules to improve students' critical thinking skills. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on Cooper's (2016) model. Data were collected from accredited databases such as Google Scholar, DOAJ, and GARUDA, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s techniques. The review results demonstrate that ethnoscience integration has a significant positive impact across educational levels: at the primary level (SD), it helps visualize abstract concepts into concrete ones; at the junior secondary level (SMP), it trains students to verify myths versus scientific facts; and at the senior secondary level (SMA), it strengthens argument evaluation and complex data interpretation. It is concluded that ethnoscience-based learning, particularly when combined with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) or Deep Learning models, effectively transforms students into active learners capable of valid scientific reasoning and inference based on local wisdom.

Abstract

The migration of female migrant workers (TKW) has had complex implications for family structure, caregiving systems, and the identity of left-behind children. This study explores the dual role of TKW as both breadwinners and educators of their children, as well as its impact on children's identity formation. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research analyzes previous studies on female migrant workers and long-distance caregiving strategies. The findings reveal that children from migrant families experience changes in intergenerational family relationships and face challenges in developing their social, cultural, and emotional identities. Although left-behind children exhibit higher resilience levels than those from non-migrant households, they often experience a caregiving deficit and a decline in psychological well-being. Additionally, gender-based caregiving patterns have undergone transformation due to mothers assuming the primary breadwinner role. This study highlights the importance of incorporating children's perspectives into migration policies and family welfare programs to create a more sustainable migration strategy. Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students on the Solar System material due to the abstract characteristics of the material and the limited use of interactive learning media. This condition causes students to experience difficulties in understanding concepts such as planet characteristics, rotation, and revolution. This study aimed to develop Solar Escape learning media based on an educational escape room that is valid, practical, and effective in improving science learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects were 22 fifth-grade students at SDN Mulyorejo 2 as the experimental class and 20 fifth-grade students at SDN Dolokgede 1 as the control class. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and pretest-posttest tests. Data were analyzed using validity percentage, practicality, N-Gain scores, and Independent Sample t-Test. The results showed that Solar Escape media obtained a validity score of 93.33% from material experts and 88.75% from media experts, categorized as very valid. The practicality of the media was categorized as very practical based on teacher and student responses. The effectiveness of the media was indicated by the N-Gain score of the experimental class at 0.71 (high category), while the control class obtained 0.37 (moderate category). The Independent Sample t-Test results showed a significance value of <0.05, indicating a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. Based on these results, Solar Escape media based on an educational escape room is declared valid, practical, and effective for use in science learning on the Solar System material to improve fifth-grade elementary students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

Teaching natural and social sciences on the topic of ecosystems in elementary school requires instructional media capable of presenting concepts in a concrete and interactive manner. Preliminary research conducted at SDN Sukomanunggal I/105 showed that the learning process is still dominated by the use of simple media, such as pictures, resulting in low student engagement and learning outcomes that have not yet met the Learning Mastery Criteria. This study aims to develop Eco Venture as a learning medium that integrates a board game, augmented reality (AR)-based flashcards and WordWall, as well as a flipbook as a user guide to improve students’ learning outcomes on the ecosystem unit for fifth-grade elementary school students. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Data collection was conducted using expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, pretest, and posttest. The data were then analyzed using percentage analysis, normality tests, paired-samples t-tests, N-Gain tests, and effect size tests. The results of the study show that the Eco Venture medium achieved a validity level of 93.75%, categorized as “highly valid”; a practicality level of 94.50%, categorized as “highly practical”; and an N-Gain value of 0.72, categorized as “high.” Consequently, it was deemed effective in improving the learning outcomes of elementary school students. Overall, the Eco Venture media is suitable for use as an innovative learning medium in elementary school Natural and Social Sciences classes covering the topic of ecosystems, as it meets the criteria for validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Accordion Book learning medium for science learning on the topic of photosynthesis to improve the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade elementary school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects were fourth-grade students at SDN Canggu, who were divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pretest and posttest assessments. The results showed that the Accordion Book was highly valid, with material expert validation of 92.50% and media expert validation of 93.33%. The medium was also highly practical based on student responses, with percentages of 89.14% in the control class and 91.09% in the experimental class, as well as a teacher response of 94.29%. The Independent Samples T-Test yielded a significance value of < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students in the experimental and control classes. Therefore, the Accordion Book learning medium was considered highly valid, highly practical, and effective in supporting the improvement of fourth-grade elementary school students' critical thinking skills.
