Abstract

Sidomulyo Village, a flower tourist village, in Batu city is one tourist destination in East Java Province based on local wisdom as an icon of Agro-industrial and Agro-tourism in the development of regional tourism. The local products from Sidomulyo Tourism Village include ornamental plants, cut flowers and batik. Sidomulyo Batik UKM is a batik producer with a capacity of 20 sheets per month @ 2.25 m2 and uses manual coloring technology. So far, UKM Batik Sidomulyo has been doing the coloring process in partnership with UKM Batik in Banyuwangi and Trenggalek Regencies due to technological limitations in the processing of batik liquid waste which still contains hazardous and toxic materials so if no action is taken it can damage the ecosystem. One of the strategic solutions is the technology transfer of the mini Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) which utilizes biological waste treatment technology by utilizing bacteria and facilities that are Proven Technology. The mini WWTP installation uses 3 processing rooms including (1) separation of wax content from liquid waste, stirring with coagulant treatment to separate liquid waste from B3 waste and (3) purification of liquid waste by treating biofilter media and anaerobic bacteria. The levels of BOD and COD of the waste will be measured before and after the use of the mini WWTP so that it will be environmentally friendly without reducing the quality of batik as a support for souvenir products typical of Sidomulyo Tourism Village.

Abstract

Consumer demands for competitive product quality are a challenge for apple chip SMEs. Constraints include the availability of raw materials, difficulty in providing and meeting consumer demand, and damaged products during distribution. This study aims to identify, analyze and determine mitigation strategies for reducing the apple chips supply chain risk. The method used for risk identification and analysis is Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (Fuzzy FMEA), and determining the mitigation strategy uses Fuzzy Analytical Network Process (Fuzzy ANP). The research variables include production, technology, market, human resources (HR), distribution, and institutional and financial risks. The results showed that three risks were identified with the highest ranking, namely the collector level on the market risk variable, the indicator of price fluctuations with an FRPN value of 5.505. The risk of the highest rating at the SME level is the market variable, an indicator of returns for apple chips because they do not meet market quality with an FRPN value of 6.013. At the distribution level, it has the highest FRPN value of 5.833, the distribution variable, an indicator of product damage during the distribution process. Determining mitigation strategies is grouped into seven activities that pose risks: production, technology, markets, human resources, distribution, institutions, and finance.

Abstract

SMEs face the problem of readiness and resilience in implementing digital transformation as part of the industrial revolution. Therefore, a process is needed to identify resilience factors that can increase the readiness of SMEs toward Industry 4.0. The industrial revolution 4.0 that emerged in recent years requires businesses and society to be ready to implement digital transformation. This study aims to identify the effects of resilience factors in the form of people, processes, and technology that influence the adoption of digital transformation in SMEs. The research object is SMEs in various sectors with a literature study approach to develop a conceptual framework and data collection using a questionnaire. Construct testing and data analysis used statistical methods from confirmatory factor analysis, while the data testing process used the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The results of the study show that the resilient people (RPe) factor has a weak influence on international orientation (IO) but has a strong direct influence on digital transformation readiness (DT). The resilient process (RPo) and resilient technology (RTe) factors weakly influence DT but are significant on IO. Meanwhile, the IO factor has a strong influence on DT. As a mediator, IO has a weak role in mediating Rpe and DT but significantly mediates RPo, and RTe against DT. The results also show that an independent attribute of 65.9% influences DT, while IO has an independent attribute effect of 41%. The findings guide SMEs to pay attention to aspects of resilience in the work system and have a global orientation in business development plans to be more ready to adopt digital transformation.
