Abstract

Although many studies have examined the relationship between spirituality and empathy, very few studies have focused on demographic and spiritual dimensions in influencing empathy for pre-service teachers. This study analyzes the effect of gender, age, and years of formal education on spirituality and empathy and analyzes the influence of the spiritual dimensions on empathy. This research is a cross-sectional study, with 319 Muslim pre-service teachers as respondents. The data collection technique used an online questionnaire adapted from the Spirituality Assessment Scale (SAS) and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI). The results show that age affects spirituality, while empathy is influenced by age and gender. One unanticipated finding was that years of formal education had no effect on either spirituality or empathy. The most important finding of this study is the higher the level of innerness, the more likely it is to have high empathy. This study's findings are useful as an assessment material and creating counseling designs to increase empathy for pre-service teachers. This is a part of forming the ideal profile of counselors in schools later. Integrating Islamic values is also an essential alternative in counseling for Muslims.

Abstract

Corona Virus Disease2019 (COVID-19) is a disease that shocked the world at the end of 2019. Based on data, positive cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia on July 29, 2021 reached 3,331,206 people, with 3,240,654 Covid-19 patients recovering and 90,552 Covid-19 patients dying. Meanwhile in the city of Surabaya there were 52,782 confirmed cases with 50,894 patients recovered and 1,888 patients died. The high death rate shows that this virus is dangerous, but the cure rate is also high. A survival analysis is needed to determine the patient's survival time (cured) for Covid-19. This research was conducted non-reactively using secondary data in the form of medical records of Covid-19 patients at the Surabaya A. Yani Islamic Hospital in January-July 2021. The results of the study using the Kaplan-Meier method found that the survival time based on age was 12,423 days, the survival time based on gender was 12,078 days, the survival time based on Early Symptoms was 11,461 days and the survival time based on SpO2 capacity was 16,787 days. The conclusions of this study indicate that, age affects the survival time of respondents where the 27-36 year interval has a better survival time than the other respondents' age intervals. The female sex has a better survival time than the male. Initial symptoms determine the severity and duration of recovery for respondents. SpO2 capacity is directly proportional to the degree of patient safety, the higher the percentage of SpO2 capacity, the greater the chance of survival and the lower the percentage of SpO2 capacity, the lower the expectation.

Abstract

The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is still an important problem in Indonesia because the fulfilment of nutritional needs is very necessary for all humans, especially infants. Meeting the nutriotional needs of infants can be obtained from exclusive breastfeeding. The success of exclusive breastfeeding in influenced by many factors, one of which is husband’s support and breastfeeding behaviour. This study aims to analyze the relationship between husband’s support and breastfedding behaviour in the Work Area of the Air Besar Health Center, Ambon, Maluku.. This research is an analytic observational quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The sample size in this study was 36 breastfeeding mothers. The variables in this study are husband's support and breastfeeding behavior. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling and used the Pearson correlation test as a data analysis technique. This study uses primary data obtained from questionnaires and secondary data from the records of the Air Besar Ambon Maluku Health Center. The results showed that almost all respondents received support from their husbands (86.1%) and almost all respondents carried out breastfeeding behavior (80.6%). The results of the Pearson correlation test for the relationship between husband's support and breastfeeding behavior have a significance value of 0.000 < 0.005, which means that there is a relationship between husband's support and breastfeeding behavior. Pearson correlation value of 0.817 indicates a very strong relationship. The conclusions in this study indicate that husband's support has a very strong relationship with the success of breastfeeding behavior in the Air Besar Ambon Health Center Work Area. The better the support provided by the husband to his wife, the higher the number of breastfeeding behavior will be. It is hoped that the puskesmas can provide assistance to married couples to explain the importance of husband's support for the success of breastfeeding behavior.

Abstract

The percentage of Unintended Pregnancy or Kehamilan Tidak Diinginkan (KTD) in Indonesia is still 17.5%. East Java contributed for 14.6% of cases of KTD during 2019. The increase in fertility rates and maternal mortality cases in Indonesia is partly due to KTD. This study will analyze the determinants of the incident of KTD in women of childbearing age or Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) in East Java. This study is a non-reactional study with a Cross-sectional design using data on the Program Performance and Accountability Survey (PPAS) for Family Planning and Family Development Program (KKBPK) 2019. Sample in this study were 2,650 married WUS with ages 15-49 years. Secondary data were analyzed using multiple logistic regression tests. Some factors that determine the incidence of unintended pregnancy include mother's age (p=0.000), age of first marriage or Usia Kawin Pertama (UKP) (p=0.004), number of living children (p=0.000), welfare level (p=0.004), residence (p=0.043), knowledge of contraception (p=0.022), history of contraceptive use (p=0.001), access of information (p=0.000), and family planning decisions (p=0.003). Meanwhile mother's education (p=0.998), mother's occupation (p=0.362), and insurance ownership (p=0,750) did not affect the case of KTD in East Java. New policies and innovations that are more targeted are needed so that prospective acceptors receive contraceptive services easily and affordably so as to reduce the number of KTD. Optimizing the role of the Family   Planning   Field Officer or Petugas Lapangan   Keluarga   Berencana (PLKB) to increase the rate of the use of modern contraceptives in East Java.
