Abstract

This research aimed to produce a didactic design of equations and linear inequality one variable through scientific approach to develop ability of mathematical communication of grade VII students of junior high school. This type of research is research and development that follows the steps of Borg and Gall which started from a preliminary study in the form of a need analysis, didactic design organizing, didactic design validation followed by revision, field trials followed by revision, and field test. The field test showed that didactical design which had been produced could be classified as useable by design expert judgment. The results of field trialindicated that ability of mathematical communication in good criterion, saw from the percentage of mastery learning which had been fulfilled. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan desain didaktis persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linear satu variabel melalui pendekatan saintifik dalam mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VII SMP. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan yang mengikuti langkah-langkah Borg and Gall, yaitu diawali dari studi pendahuluan berupa analisis kebutuhan, penyusunan desain didaktis, validasi desain didaktis dilanjutkan revisi, ujicoba terbatas dilanjutkan revisi, dan uji lapangan dilanjutkan revisi. Hasil uji ahli menunjukkan bahwa desain didaktis yang dihasilkan layak. Hasil ujicoba lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis dalam kriteria baik dilihat persentase ketuntasan belajar telah terpenuhi.Kata kunci : desain didaktis dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis.

Abstract

This qualitative research aimed to describe the student’s critical mathematics discourse in Socrates scientific learning. The subjects of this research were 9 students of VII-D class of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2018/2019 consists of each 3 students with high, medium, and low mathematical ability. The data of this research were obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis were processed through three steps that refered to Miles and Huberman models, which were data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Based on the research, the results were: (1) The number of students who did the critical mahematics discourse was successfully increased by Socrates scientific learning, (2) Student’s critical mathematics discourse through Socrates scientific learning more dominantly showed the indicator of student’s critical thinking skill in interprettation and analysis, (3) Student’s critical mathematics discourse was more likely to occur when the teacher asked Socrates’ questions types of clarifycations and reasons and evidence of investigation, (4) Student’s critical mathematics discourse more dominantly showed when the students did scientific approach, which were associating and communicating.

Abstract

This qulitative-descriptive research was aimed to know the student’s errors in solving word problems in mathematic learning and the cause of the errors. The subjects were students of VII A class of Junior High School state 20 of Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014. The data was collected by test and interview. The data analysis was done by data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Based on the research results, it was known that students errors in solving word problem were understand the problem, make model of mathematics, do counting, and make conclusions. It was caused by the lack interest and motivation of students towards mathematics.Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada pembelajaran matematika dan penyebab kesalahan tersebut.  Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita yaitu kesalahan memahami soal, membuat model matematika, melakukan perhitungan, dan menarik kesimpulan.  Hal ini disebabkan oleh rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa terhadap pelajaran matematika.                                  Kata kunci: kesalahan, matematika, penyelesaian soal cerita

Abstract

This quasi experimental design aims to know the effectiveness of probing-prompting model considered by student’s mathematical conceptual understanding.  The design of this research uses posttest only control group design.  The population of this research are all tenth grade students of Senior High School State 5 Bandar Lampung in Academic Years 2012/2013.  The sample of this research are X7 and X5 that is determined by purposive sampling technique.  The data research is quantitative data of student’s mathematical conceptual understanding that is aqcuired by student’s mathematical conceptual understanding test.  Based on research results, it is gotten conclusion that probing-prompting model is effective considered by student’s mathematical conceptual understanding (in trigonometry concepts), a case study in tenth grade students of Senior High School State 5 Bandar Lampung in Academic Years 2012/2013  Keywords:  Effectiveness, Probing-Prompting, Conceptual   Understanding

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence of contextual teaching and learning towards students mathematical conceptual understanding. The population of this research was all students of grade ninth of SMP 4 Gedong Tataan in odd semester academic years of 2014/2015 as many as 143 students that was distributed into four classes (IXA - IXD). The samples were taken by purposive sampling and it was obtained students of IX D as experimental class and IX C as control class. This research used post-test only control design. The data of this research were score of students mathematical conceptual understanding which was obtained by test. Based on the results of data analysis, it was known that the students mathematical conceptual understanding with CTL was higher than conventional learning. Thus, the implementation of CTL affects towards students mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh contextual teaching and learning terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 4 Gedong Tataan semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 sebanyak 143 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam empat kelas (IXA IXD). Sampel diambil secara purposive sampling dan diperoleh siswa kelas IXD sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan siswa kelas IXC sebagai kelompok kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan post-test only control design. Data penelitian ini berupa skor pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui tes. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diketahui bahwa rata-rata pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan CTL lebih dari pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, penerapan CTL berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: contextual teaching and learning, konvensional, pemahaman konsep matematis

Abstract

This research aimed to develop student worksheets on problem based learning for facilitating critical thinking skills and students mathematical disposition. The population was all students of grade XI of SMK Negeri 2 Banjit in academic year of 2015/2016. The trial test was conducted on students of XI AK class. It occupied Reserach and Development utilizing procedures established by Borg and Gall, started from prasurvey and information collecting, planning, develop of first product, field testing, product revision, main field test and then operational product revision. The data collected is data critical thinking skills and mathematical disposition. The data obtained through field notes, interviews, validation and documentation of the LKPD learning process and then descriptive analyzed. The result of reseach showed that worksheets developed able to facilitate critical thinking skills and students dispositionmathematic evident from the emergence of all indicators of critical thinking skills and mathematical disposition.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD pada Problem Based Learning dalam memfasilitasi kemampuan berpikir kritis dan disposisi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 2 Banjit tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Uji coba dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI AK. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development dengan menggunakan prosedur Borg Gall, diawali dengan melakukan penelitian pendahuluan dan pengumpulan data, perencanaan, mengembangkan jenis/bentuk produk awal, melakukan uji coba tahap awal, melakukan revisi terhadap produk utama, melakukan uji coba lapangan kemudian melakukan revisi terhadap produk operasional. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data kemampuan berpikir kritis dan disposisi matematis. Data diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, wawancara, validasi dan dokumentasi selama proses pembelajaran menggunakan LKPD kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD yang dikembangkan mampu memfasilitasi kemampuan berpikir kritis dan disposisi matematis siswa terlihat dari munculnya semua indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dan disposisi matematis.Kata kunci: disposisi matematis, berpikir kritis, PBL

Abstract

This naturalistic qualitative research aimed to discribe students mathematical critical thinking disposition in Socrates Method and Contextual Approach learning. The subject of this research were students of VII-D class of SMPN 22 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2014/2015 that was determined by purposive sampling. The data of this research was qualitative data about students mathematical critical thinking disposition which were gotten by observation recording, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was done in four stages, which were coding, reducting, displaying, and verifying data. Based on this research, it can be concluded that Socrates Method and Contextual Approach learning can bring out the mathematical critical thinking disposition of students who have self confidence. Penelitian kualitatif naturalistik ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan disposisi berpikir kritis matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan Metode Socrates dan Pendekatan Kontekstual. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-D SMP Negeri 22 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif mengenai disposisi berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, angket, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dalam empat tahap, yaitu memberi kode, mereduksi, menyajikan, dan memverifikasi data. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran dengan Metode Socrates dan Pendekatan Kontekstual dapat memunculkan disposisi berpikir kritis matematis pada siswa yang mempunyai rasa percaya diri.Kata kunci: disposisi berpikir kritis, Metode Socrates, Pendekatan Kontekstual

Abstract

This naturalistic qualitative research aimed to describe students mathematical critical thinking disposition in Socrates Contextual learning at the material of Linear Equations and Inequalities of One Variable. The subjects of this research were students of VII B class of SMP Negeri 19 Bandarlampung. Through purposive sampling techniques, it was chosen eleven students who was described their critical thinking disposition. The research data were obtained by observation, critical thinking disposition scale techniques, interviews and documentation. Before analyzing the data, researcher did the triangulation of data by interview. The data analysis techniques used three stages, which were reducting, displaying, and getting the conclusion of data. The results of this research was the students' mathematical critical thinking dispositions only appears on some students. For most of the other students, dispositions which appeared were not critical thinking disposition.Penelitian kualitatif naturalistik ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan disposisi berpikir kritis matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual pada materi Persamaan dan Pertidaksamaan Linier Satu Variabel. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B SMP Negeri 19 Bandarlampung. Melalui teknik purposive sampling terpilihlah sebelas siswa yang dideskripsikan disposisi berpikir kritisnya. Data penelitian diperoleh dari observasi, teknik skala disposisi berpikir kritis, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sebelum menganalisis data, peneliti melakukan triangulasi data melalui wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan tiga tahapan, yaitu reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan terhadap data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah disposisi berpikir kritis matematis siswa hanya muncul pada beberapa siswa. sebagian besar siswa lainnya memunculkan disposisi yang muncul bukan merupakan disposisi berpikir kritis.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis matematis, disposisi, Socrates Kontekstual

Abstract

This qualitative research was aimed to describe the students mathematical discourse in Socratic Scientific learning to facilitate mathematical communication ability. The subject of this research was students of VII H class of SMPN 10 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2016/2017. The qualitative data of this research was about students mathematical discourse which were gotten by observation and interview. Three procedures of data analysis were data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. Based on the research, it was concluded that in mathematical discourse, there were: (1) mathematical expression and written text as the dominant indicators of mathematical communication ability, (2) clarification as Socratic question that was used by teacher more frequently, and (3) communicating as Scientific phase that was more frequently appeared. Besides that, the research findings were characteristic pattern of mathematical discourse, mathematical discourse form, and the factors that influence students response in mathematical discourse. Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan percakapan matematis siswa pada Pembelajaran Socrates Saintifik dalam memfasilitasi kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII H SMPN 20 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Data penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif tentang percakapan matematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa dalam percakapan matematis terdapat: (1) mathematical expression dan written text sebagai indikator kemampuan komunikasi yang dominan muncul, (2) pertanyaan Socrates bertipe klarifikasi yang lebih banyak digunakan guru, dan (3) tahap mengomunikasikan sebagai tahapan Saintifik yang banyak terlihat. Selain itu, diperoleh temuan berupa pola karakteristik percakapan matematis, bentuk percakapan matematis, dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi respon siswa dalam percakapan matematis.Kata kunci: kemampuan komunikasi matematis, percakapan matematis, Socrates Saintifik

Abstract

This research was intended to describe the disposition of the studentss understanding of mathematical concept in learning Socrates Scientific. Subjects of this research were students of class VII-A of Junior High School 1 Natar in academic year of 2016/2017. The qualitative data of this research was about disposition students understanding mathematical which were taken by observation, field notes, interview, and documentation. The technique of data analysis used three stages, which were reducting, displaying, and getting the conlusion of data. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that in learning on material Linier Equations and Inequalities materials One Variable with Socrates Scientifik method can bring out the disposition of understanding students mathematical concept and indicator of students disposition understanding of mathematical concept is the dominant emerging confidence.Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan disposisi pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran Socrates Saintifik. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-A SMP Negeri 1 Natar semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Data penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif mengenai disposisi pemahaman konsep metematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan tiga tahap yaitu reduksi, penyajian dan penarikan kesimpulan terhadap data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran matematika pada materi Persamaan dan Pertidaksamaan Linier Satu Variabel dengan metode Socrates Saintifik dapat memunculkan disposisi pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dan indikator disposisi pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang dominan muncul adalah kepercayaan diri.Kata kunci : disposisi pemahaman konsep matematis,metode socrates, pendekatan saintifik.
