Abstract

The availability and utilization of Mathematics Learning Resource Centers (LRC) play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of teaching in elementary schools. LRC integrated with IT can assist teachers in designing engaging, interactive, and relevant lessons, while also fostering students’ interest in learning. However, field observations reveal that teachers' access to digital learning resources remains limited, and the integration of technology in mathematics instruction is still suboptimal. To address this issue, the program provided training for elementary school teachers on effectively utilizing digital-based learning resource centers. The main objective in this community service is to improve teachers' skills in using LRC as a supportive medium for mathematics instruction in the classroom. The training was conducted through discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on simulations, involving 18 elementary school teachers from Puyung. Evaluation results, obtained through questionnaires, indicate that participants (1) showed high enthusiasm throughout the training, (2) were able to operate the digital LRC independently, and (3) responded positively to the usefulness of LRC in supporting the teaching and learning process. It is expected that this training will broaden teachers’ knowledge and skills in utilizing technology, and contribute to the improvement of mathematics teaching quality at the elementary school level.

Abstract

PT. Pertamina (Persero) is one of the providers of refueling services in Indonesia. The role of Fuel Oil (BBM) is very important in people's lives, so to meet fuel needs, this company has built a Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU). Petrol stations are a means to distribute fuel oil. As one of the companies that provide fuel in Indonesia, this company must pay attention to the quality of service. One of the strategic petrol stations in Mataram City is the petrol station 54.832.12 Jl. Gajah Mada Pagesangan, Mataram City. The large number of pertalite refueling during peak times in the morning and evening at this petrol station resulted in queues, so a study was carried out on the optimal condition of petrol station services based on the number of noozles using the Monte Carlo simulation method, by modifying the generation of random numbers using the Linear Congruent Method (LCM) random number generation. The simulation is carried out based on the arrival time and service time taken every 3 minutes 100 times. By conducting simulations 500 times and as many as 10 activities, optimal conditions were analyzed based on the number of noozles. The results obtained show that as many as 4 noozles are needed on the pertalite motorcycle dispenser to get optimal conditions because the average remaining queue is close to 1, which is 1.51 vehicles, and the Pertalite Car dispenser is enough with 1 noozle, the average remaining queue is close to 1, which is 1.62 vehicles.

Abstract

Duality in linear programming is an essential concept in optimization-based decision making. However, many undergraduate students still struggle to understand and solve duality problems, especially when converting primal to dual models and interpreting their results. This study aimed to explore the learning strategies used by fifth-semester students in solving duality problems. A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving 36 students from a mathematics education program. Data were collected through classroom observations, open-ended tasks, reflective writing, and interviews, and analyzed thematically. The findings revealed that most students (52.8%) used procedural repetition strategies, while others adopted conceptual elaboration (30.6%) and organizational strategies (16.6%). Students who used elaboration and organizational strategies demonstrated deeper conceptual understanding and greater problem-solving flexibility. These results suggest that procedural approaches still dominate, and instructional efforts should focus on fostering more reflective and meaningful learning strategies among students.

Abstract

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students' understanding of mathematical concepts, which is partly due to the limited use of innovative learning media. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of GeoGebra integration on students' conceptual understanding of three-dimensional geometry in grade XI at SMAN 1 Pringgasela in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research employed a mixed-methods approach with a concurrent embedded design, emphasizing the quantitative aspect. The sample consisted of two classes: the experimental class, which used the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by GeoGebra, and the control class, which used conventional learning. The posttest results showed that the average score of the experimental class was 82.71, while the control class scored 53.94. The t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, which is ≤ 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Furthermore, the effect size value of 2.32 falls into the large category, indicating that GeoGebra integration had a significant impact on improving students’ conceptual understanding. Thus, the use of GeoGebra has proven effective in enhancing the quality of mathematics learning, particularly in three-dimensional geometry topics.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the problem-solving abilities of students in linear equation systems of two variables (SPLDV) material with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive method. The instruments used in this research are learning style questionnaires, problem-solving ability tests, and interview guidelines. Subjects were taken from each learning style, with 2 students from each style being interviewed to deepen the data. The results of the study show that students with visual learning styles are able to meet all indicators of problem-solving abilities, namely understanding the problem, making a problem-solving plan, implementing the plan, and re-examining the solution obtained. Students with kinesthetic learning styles are only able to meet three indicators of problem-solving abilities, namely understanding the problem, making a problem-solving plan, and implementing the plan. Students with auditory learning styles are only able to meet one indicator, namely understanding the problem. This shows that the problem-solving abilities of students with visual and auditory learning styles are better compared to students with kinesthetic learning styles.
