Abstract

The issue of educational rights fulfillment in Surabaya is a social problem arising from discrepancies within the existing educational system. Although the government is responsible for addressing this issue, its implementation remains limited and suboptimal. This study aims to evaluate the role of the Turun Tangan Surabaya community in addressing the problem of educational rights fulfillment in the city. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study design, involving the collection of primary data through interviews and secondary data through documentation. The collected data is analyzed using the AGIL scheme within Talcott Parsons' structural functional theory. The findings reveal that the Turun Tangan Surabaya community plays a significant role in fulfilling educational rights through several approaches. First, they provide manpower support through activities such as "Tebar Senyum," focusing on motivating and emotionally supporting students. Second, they offer educational services by organizing events like the School People's Olympics, aimed at enhancing educational quality. Third, the community supports literacy by conducting activities like "book story" and literacy contributions to provide reading materials and foster a reading culture. Fourth, they encourage community participation in their activities to increase public involvement and support for education. This study highlights that the community's active role in various aspects significantly impacts the fulfillment of educational rights in Surabaya

Abstract

Access variation means that the entry point to access on social media is mainly used as a political campaign platform by candidate pairs that can influence the political culture of generation Z including cognitive, affective and evaluative so that it can influence the political choices that will be used in the Election. This study aims to determine the relationship between variations in social media campaign access and the political culture of generation Z on the issue of the 2024 election. The population in this study was all generation Z in Sidoarjo Regency with the Quota Sampling method which took 6 respondents from each sub-district in Sidoarjo so that 108 samples were obtained. The data analysis method used Spearman correlation analysis with prerequisite tests in the form of normality and linearity tests. The results of this study are that there is a positive and significant relationship between variations in access to the political culture of generation Z Sidoarjo with a Spearman correlation value of 0.542 and generation Z data which is classified as sufficient with a percentage of 33%. So it can be concluded that the higher the variation of access, the higher the political culture owned, so the type of political culture owned by generation Z Sidoarjo in its role in accessing social media political campaign issues is also included in a mixed political culture, namely a semi-participatory political culture of the people. In addition, generation Z is quite active in expressing their preferences for candidate pairs through access to social media political campaigns, but they do not involve various issues too much in interfering with political decisions that will be used in the Election

Abstract

In facing national problems such as intolerance and ethnic and social conflicts, Indonesia needs to re-actualize the values of Pancasila, which have been proven as a unifying solution for the nation. Pancasila, as the foundation of the state and the nation's outlook on life, plays an important role in uniting the ethnic, religious, and cultural differences in Indonesia. However, in daily practice, the values of Pancasila tend to be eroded and are more present as formal symbols than behavioral guidelines, thus triggering various disputes between residents. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity Pancasila is intended to (1) instill Pancasila values in the Pacet Village community; (2) mentor the Pacet Village youth organization as a facilitator of harmony by utilizing social media to campaign for harmony in society. This community service activity is a collaboration between the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program, Surabaya State University with the Pacet Village Government, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency, and the Mojokerto Regency Interfaith Harmony Forum. This community service activity is a Pancasila Discussion and Creative Content Creation Training for Karang Taruna Pacet Village. The method used is socialization, which provides material about Pancasila as a unifier of the nation, ending with digital content training. Through socialization activities, national insight training, discussions with religious leaders, and training for village officials, efforts to strengthen Pancasila encourage a harmonious life amidst diversity.

Abstract

In schools, paper waste is a serious problem because high usage for assignments, duplication of materials, and administration is not balanced with effective waste management, so waste paper is often thrown away without being recycled, leading to waste accumulation and negative impacts on the environment. To overcome this, activities with a service learning (SL) approach are carried out, integrating student learning with community service. This approach not only allows students to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom, but also develops social skills, empathy, and responsibility. This activity went through the stages of problem identification, planning, service implementation, reflection, demonstration, evaluation, and sustainable development, attended by 25 students of SMP Negeri 16 Surabaya and supported by the Surabaya City Environmental Agency, as well as PPG students of the State University of Surabaya. The result was the creation of a 3-dimensional map of Indonesia's islands from paper waste, which showed good enthusiasm and student participation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas metode pembelajaran debat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berargumentasi siswa SMP pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan dua siklus pembelajaran yang dilakukan di kelas IX SMP Negeri 16 Surabaya, dengan subjek sebanyak 30 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah angket tanggapan siswa dan penilaian performa argumentasi siswa dalam setiap siklus. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menghitung rata-rata nilai penilaian siswa, serta dengan uji t-test berpasangan untuk mengetahui signifikansi perbedaan antara Siklus 1 dan Siklus 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada tanggapan siswa terhadap model pembelajaran debat dengan nilai t = -8.234 dan p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05), serta pada performa kemampuan berargumentasi dengan t = -7.890 dan p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Rata-rata skor angket meningkat dari 3.01 pada Siklus 1 menjadi 4.09 pada Siklus 2, dan skor performa argumentasi meningkat dari 3.00 menjadi 4.05. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran debat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berargumentasi siswa dan aspek terkait seperti kepercayaan diri, berpikir kritis, dan pemahaman materi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of members of the Pasuruan gusdurian network in fostering tolerance between religious people. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, passive participation observation and documentation. The collected data was analyzed using a model from Miles and Huberman through four stages starting from data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. This research uses Max Weber's theory of Social Action. The research location was adjusted to the location of the informants and the location of the gusdurian network activities in the Pasuruan area. The results showed that the underlying thing for members of the gusdurian network to foster tolerance is based on the experience of interfaith contact, inspiration for Gusdur's thoughts and good meaning of tolerance. Efforts made to foster tolerance through activities and programs are, Gus Dur study forum, tolerance day commemoration and commemoration of Gusdur's haul, encounters with different groups and religions, utilization of social media content and the Violence Prevention Initiative Program.

Abstract

Artikel ini bermaksud untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimanakah penguasaan kompetensi profesional guru PPKn dan faktor apa yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan di Prodi PPKn FISH UNESA ini mengambil sampel 86 mahasiswa yang telah menyelesaikan Praktik Pengalaman Pembelajaran (PPP). Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes dan angket yang dikembangkan peneliti. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa mereka memiliki kompetensi profesional guru yang cukup baik. Temuan ini konsisten dengan gambaran tentang sikap, minat, dan motivasinya serta pengalaman belajar yang juga berada pada kategori cukup. Kompetensi ini masih perlu diperbaiki, salah satunya dengan mengoptimalkan proses belajarnya.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This essay to describe the level of comprehension of professional competency among PPKn teachers and its factors influencing these competencies. The research was conducted at Study Program of PPKn, FIHS UNESA with 86 selected students being taking course). Data was collected through questionnaire, and test developed by the researcher. The result reveals that they have an adequate professional competency. This result is consistent with the levels of attitude, interest, motivation, and learning experience. This level should be up-graded, one of them through learning process.

Abstract

Generation Z, who grew up with technology, is deeply engaged with social media, including TikTok, which has become a vital platform for disseminating political information. The TikTok account "Narasi," founded by Najwa Shihab, captures their attention with content on politics, law, social issues, and inspirational stories. According to the uses and effects theory, the intensity of media consumption can influence knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of social reality. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design to examine the relationship between the intensity of watching TikTok Narasi and the level of political knowledge among Generation Z. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 108 respondents who follow TikTok Narasi. Data analysis using Spearman's Rho correlation test showed a significance value of 0.00, indicating a significant relationship between the intensity of watching TikTok Narasi and political knowledge regarding the 2024 election. The correlation coefficient of 0.654 indicates a strong, positive, and direct relationship between these variables. The results suggest that there is a significant relationship between the intensity of watching TikTok Narasi and the level of political knowledge among Generation Z. The higher the intensity of watching TikTok Narasi, the greater the political knowledge of Generation Z about the 2024 presidential and vice-presidential candidates. Abstract

The 2024 presidential election is different from previous general elections, which gave rise to various responses from the public, especially education students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Surabaya State University. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological design. The informants for this research were education students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Surabaya State University, consisting of S1 Geography Education, S1 Social Sciences Education, S1 Pancasila and Citizenship Education and S1 History Education. The focus of this research is the responses given by research informants regarding the first debate in the 2024 presidential election. The data collection techniques used were interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research uses the Miles Huberman analysis model. The results of this research show that education students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Surabaya State University, responded to the first debate in the 2024 presidential election by giving their opinions both in person and virtually. There are several ways for education students to respond to the first debate in the 2024 presidential election, namely by openly discussing discussions and discussing discussions via WhatsApp groups. Several students responded to the debate in open discussions with family and friends. And discussions were held via the WhatApps group with family and friends regarding the issues of the first debate for the 2024 presidential election that were being discussed.

Abstract

Fenomena kotak kosong merupakan fenomena yang muncul sebagai alternatif pilihan yang sah secara hukum dalam demokrasi ketika hanya terdapat satu pasangan calon kepala daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat respon pemilih pemula terhadap fenomena “kotak kosong” pada pilkada di Kota Surabaya tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode deskriptif dengan responden penelitian sebanyak 400 pemilih pemula di Kota Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan kuesioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskripsi presentase. Hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh mengenai tingkat respon pemilih pemula terhadap fenomena “kotak kosong” pada pilkada di Kota Surabaya tahun 2024 menunjukkan respon positif, hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan presentase sebesar 81,5% pemilih pemula dari angket yang diberikan berada pada kategori setuju terhadap fenomena “kotak kosong”. Respon setuju ini menggambarkan adanya kesadaran politik yang berkembang di kalangan pemilih muda, di mana mereka mulai memandang gerakan tersebut sebagai bentuk partisipasi politik yang sah dan sebagai bentuk kritik terhadap pilihan calon yang dianggap tidak mewakili harapan mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Stimulus-Respon yang dikemukakan oleh Miller (dalam Kausar, 2018:31) megutarakan pada model teori S-R, Stimulus adalah perolehan tujuan dengan bantuan alat indra yang ditransformasikan menjadi beberapa bentuk dengan sifat visual, pendengaran, sentuhan atau rasa. Bisa diartikan stimulus merupakan rangsangan kepada respon. Sedangkan respon adalah reaksi yang timbul atau efek khusus, terhadap stimulus tertentu. Dalam hal ini, respon bisa berupa perubahan perilaku, sikap, atau pandangan seseorang terhadap suatu hal. Dalam konteks penelitian ini, stimulus diwujudkan melalui informasi atau kampanye mengenai fenomena “kotak kosong”, sedangkan respon dilihat dari bagaimana pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan politik pemilih pemula terbentuk atau berubah setelah menerima stimulus tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini sejalan dengan teori S-R dimana diperoleh, sebagai respon atas rangsangan tersebut sebanyak 326 orang responden dengan skor rata - rata 80,665 (81,5%) pemilih pemula menyatakan setuju terhadap fenomena “kotak kosong”. Ini menunjukkan bahwa mereka memberikan tanggapan aktif terhadap kondisi yang mereka nilai tidak ideal. Gerakan ini dijadikan sarana untuk menyampaikan pesan politik bahwa mereka tidak puas terhadap pilihan yang ada. Dengan demikian, hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam teori stimulus-respon perilaku politik pemilih, termasuk pemilih pemula, sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lingkungan politik dan informasi yang mereka terima.
