Abstract

Optimal children’s nutritional status is an indicator of achieving child growth according to their age. Optimizing nutritional status is supported by providing nutrition intake to meet children's daily nutrition needs. Kindergarten students need  nutritionally, healthy and safe food. Providing balanced nutritious food supplies for kindergarten students requires knowledge, attitudes and good practices from parents, as well as implementation of nutritionally balanced meal that are integrated into the kindergarten learning curriculum from the school. Harapan Bunda Kindergarten, which is located in Talang Belido Village, Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi Regency, has never received nutrition promotion regarding the nutritious food for kindergarten students. The food supplies for kindergarten students brought by their parents also do not implement balanced diet. This community service activity aimed to organize nutritional promotion of balanced nutritious food to optimize the nutritional status of kindergarten students with the targets are teachers and parents. The results of community service activities showed that there is an increase in target’s knowledge before and after being given education which is not significantly different (Sig.>0.05). It is necessary to get used to implementing balance diet on children's meal which contain carbohydrate foods, protein foods, vegetables, fruit, and drinking water consumption (1200-1500 ml per day)..

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of picture book media interventions for adolescent children, especially at SMPN 18 Jambi City. Method: The type of research used is Quasi Experimental using a one group pre-test post-test design with a sample size of 30 people. The technique used in sampling is probability sampling where samples are taken randomly to ensure that the entire population has the same opportunity to become a sample. Samples were taken using a simple random sampling technique and the data will be analyzed using the paired sample t-test statistical test. Results: There was an effect of picture book media intervention on the knowledge and attitudes of students at SMPN 18 Jambi City, a value was obtained (p=0.000 <0.005) for each variable. It can be concluded that picture book media is effective as an intervention tool in increasing knowledge and changing attitudes among students at SMPN 18 Jambi City. Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases, with a prevalence of 60.3%. In Kerinci Regency, the prevalence of hypertension in 2022 was recorded at 19.78%, while in the Siulak Gedang Health Center, there were 289 cases of hypertension. This study aims to identify the determinant factors that influence the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at the Siulak Gedang Health Center, Kerinci Regency. This study used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 101 elderly individuals aged over 60 years were selected using proportional simple random sampling. Multivariate analysis was performed using Cox regression. The results showed that the prevalence of hypertension in the elderly was 71.28%. No significant relationship was found between gender and smoking history with hypertension. However, family history, sodium consumption, and sleep quality were found to be associated with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly. The main risk factor identified was obesity, with a 14.13 times higher risk of hypertension in the elderly (p-value = 0.011). Hypertension prevention should focus on managing obesity through health education, regular check-ups, and the implementation of a healthy lifestyle to reduce the prevalence of hypertension among the elderly.

Abstract

Indigenous Communities (KAT) are still an issue in Indonesia and local governments. KAT in Jambi Province are spread across several regencies, sub-districts and villages. One of them is in Hajran Village, Batanghari Regency. KAT has complex social problems, namely poverty, education and health. Health problems in KAT arise due to the low implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) because this behavior is not yet understood. Increased knowledge and changes in PHBS occur after education is provided. Pop-up book media can increase knowledge, attitudes, skills and behavior of PHBS. Increasing awareness of PHBS as a strategy for preventing stunting. In Hajran Village in June 2024, there were 5 cases of stunting and 2 cases of malnutrition. The Suku Anak Dalam Health Education Center (PODKESAD) is an application of technology development and innovation as an effort to prevent the risk of stunting. This activity aims to increase knowledge and behavior of PHBS in KAT, increase knowledge of stunting prevention with local food and biofloc pond catfish cultivation and PMT processing skills with local food and biofloc pond catfish cultivation in PKK groups. The implementation method is through providing education and training. PODKESAD is able to increase the knowledge of PHBS KAT (76.2%) and behavior (77.9%), increase the knowledge of PKK groups about preventing stunting by utilizing local food (86.1%) and skills (100%), and increase the knowledge of PKK groups about catfish cultivation in biofloc ponds (83.21%) and skills (100%). It is hoped that the Hajran Village government will provide guidance for the sustainability of the program in KAT and TP PKK so that the risk of stunting can be reduced through PHBS habits and the provision of additional food and access to a variety of high-protein foods in the form of catfish floss.

Abstract

Integrated Antenatal Care (ANC) is a health service for pregnant women based on the 10T standard. The main goal is to reduce the maternal mortality rate (MMR), infant mortality rate (IMR) and the probability of mother and child. In its implementation, midwives play an important role so that the performance of midwives greatly affects the quality of Integrated ANC services. In Jambi City, the coverage of Integrated ANC services at the Puskesmas has not yet reached the minimum service standard target of 100% of KI 97.1%, K4 coverage of 94.9% and K6 of 92.3%. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the performance of midwives in integrated ANC services. This type of research is quantitative with a cros sectional approach. The location of this research was carried out at all Puskesmas in the Jambi City area in November-December 2024. The number of samples was 70 respondents, with the Porpotional random sampling technique. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between motivation with a p value of 0.032 and institutional  leadership with the performance of midwives in Integrated ANC services with a p value of 0.016, while experience did not have a significant relationship with the performance of midwives in Integrated ANC services with a p value of 0.088.

Abstract

Learning Innovation Research with the title "The Influence of the Application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model on Learning Outcomes in the Remote Indigenous Community Empowerment Practices (KAT) Even Semester 2023/2024 Academic Year Jambi University Public Health Study Program" is the application of the Problem Based Learning method (PBL) in courses taught by researchers. This research design used Quasi Experimental on 114 students in 3 groups and different locations. Students are fully involved in every stage of problem analysis, determining priority problems, preparing activity plans, implementing activities, monitoring and evaluating. Students are given the freedom to explore, assess, interpret, synthesize various problems through primary and secondary data, then a work plan is created to solve the problems found. Lecturers who teach courses have the freedom to develop the learning process in class and outside the classroom. Course Learning Achievement (CPMK) is measured using the T-Test model analysis technique (Different test, Pre and Post-Test). The final result of this research is that students are able to improve their problem analysis skills, determine priority problems, find solutions to existing problems, develop organizational management, time management and research skills. Increasing active group participation, the ability to lead work teams and critical thinking in students will deliver Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL).
