Abstract

Religious moderation is politically included in public policies that are integrated into the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional, RPJMN). Ministry of Religion as the leading sector for mainstreaming religious moderation in its environment has the responsibility to translate religious moderation from the narrative of religious moderation to the real action in its institutional units. This research is qualitative research conducted at State Islamic University (Universitas Islam Negeri, UIN) Walisongo Semarang which seriously promotes religious moderation in the institution. The results of this study are the problem of strengthening identity politics as one of the main causes of religious extremism and social change that exist, one of the efforts to minimize social turmoil in UIN Walisongo is by instilling the values of religious moderation through the tri dharma of university, namely teaching, research, and community service. The aspect of locality is the main capital in implementing religious moderation at UIN Walisongo. Indigenous religiosity combines religion and locality with a theo-anthropocentric approach, exploring cultural values in order to strengthen religion in the implementation aspect. The impact of the implementation of the data religious moderation policy is seen from the realm of ideality of policy content in the religious moderation policy, which can be seen from the integration of relations or a harmonious relationship between individual elements and social elements in human interaction which is the main target in the religious moderation policy promoted by the Ministry of Religion.

Abstract

The focus of this paper is the madrasa in Indonesia and its development which is examined from the perspective of Michel Foucault regarding their authority, knowledge and discourse. The madrasa’s performance, which is still relatively low and unable to compete with public schools or pesantrens (Islamic Boarding Schools), will be examined from this perspective. This paper departs from the study of literature with a historical-sociological approach. The sources of the data come from the literature related to the history and development of madrasas. From Foucoult's perspective, the performance of the madrasa--which in its development shows a decline trend and is of relatively low quality and less competitive compared with general schools or pesantrens-- is closely related to power, knowledge and discourse factors. My argument is supported by the evidence that there is no an established “blueprint” for the supervision and development of madrasas in Indonesia, in contrast to schools or pesantrens. Likewise, the problem of interplay of madrasa policies in the integration of the national education system has put the madrasa in the midst of domination of schools and pesantrens, especially in the midst of society since the appreciation and level of community participation in the madrasa are not very encouraging. In addition, there is an opinion among the public which perceives the madrasa as the second educational institution after schools or pesantrens. This opinion is, of course, supported by empirical data, such as research from Nur Hamzah (2017) and Sukino (2017) which examined the madrasas in West Kalimantan Province, and revealed the poor quality of some madrasas in this area, which in my opinion is the "top of the iceberg" of the madrasa, especially in the outermost, interior and underdeveloped areas of Indonesia.

Abstract

The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Religion, has established the Islamic University cyber policy as one of the Ministry of Religion's 7 policy priorities. The cyber-Islamic university policy is motivated by the issue of equal distribution of education (especially Islamic education) in Indonesia which is still minimal. The Ministry of Religion records that there are tens of thousands of teacher educators who have not studied at university level. This then became one of the reasons for formulating a cyber-Islamic university policy with IAIN Nurjati as the first pilot project. In its implementation, CIU policy not only has a role in equalizing education in Indonesia, but also has a role in improving human resources in Indonesia. Human resources or HR is something that needs to be improved, in relation to the progress of the times until we reach the 5.0 era. In this research, the researcher aims to analyze the Islamic University cyber policy as one of the ways the government has taken to improve human resources and the role of this policy in preparing Indonesian society to adapt to the Society 5.0 era. The research method used by researchers is library research, using the Ministry of Religion Decree regarding the appointment of IAIN Nurjadi as a pilot project for implementing CIU policies as the main data source. Researchers use a theory related to society 5.0 which was initiated by Fukuda, the idea is that society 5.0 has a humanist side where humans are made the center so that society can experience a quality social atmosphere. The results of this research are that researchers found that human resources are an important thing to improve in the era of society 5.0, and one way to improve human resources in Indonesia is the implementation of the cyber-Islamic university policy

Abstract

Discrimination in the education world is not only incidental under certain conditions. The injustice sometimes "deliberately" slips into policy products that are not accessible to all groups. Public space and humanity are important to formulating a humane and fair. Policy products that are ambiguous and insensitive to dynamic technological developments create uncertainty for policy executors in implementing policies in the field. This research dissects the products of inclusive education policies from time to time using the theory of power relations to find the dimensions of humanity, technology, and public space and capture the visible social impacts of the implementation of educational policies both in real space and virtual space. The findings of this research are: first, the existing policy products indirectly include elements of humanity in general, but on the other hand, they leave aside technological developments which are very dynamic. The two existing policy products do not provide input and evaluate the weaknesses and strengths of the implemented policies.

Abstract

The Poda Na Lima philosophy, which aims to develop the study of Islamic education, needs to be maintained and preserved; therefore, the authors conducted this research using qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. Observation data, interviews and documentation are data collection techniques, while informants as subjects of this research were 15 people from Mandailing Natal. Traditional figures, religious figures, community leaders, members, and documents related to history, culture, customs, and community life, such as books, articles, journals, reports, and mass media are sources of research data. Data analysis is used through presentation, reduction and conclusion. The research results show that Poda Na Lima has been developing an educational curriculum based on local content. The obstacle was that it had not been implemented optimally as part of developing the local content education curriculum there. It is due to a lack of coordination, socialization synergy, local government education, budget allocation, and human resource development for the community, especially the younger generation, regarding the importance of maintaining and preserving the philosophy. The authors concluded that with the development of local content educational curricula and local knowledge in the community, the local government needs to take policies to maintain and preserve the Poda Na Lima philosophy in Mandailing Natal.
