Abstract

 Horticultural agriculture subsector has a role in improving public health through improved nutrition, including as a source of vitamins. One of the horticultural commodities which is superior in its production is citrus. One of citrus production centers in Sumatra is Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra. The yield of citrus farming in Simalungun Regency is actually quite high, but when entering the dry season the production of citrus will drop dramatically. In addition, seasonal changes can sometimes reduce the quality of citrus, although indirectly. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics, competence and motivation of citrus farmers in Simalungun Regency and to comparing citrus productivity based on the characteristics, competence and motivation of the farmers. The research data is 100 respondents in size. The method used for data analysis is descriptive analysis, one way anova and LSD Fisher. The results of the study found that the majority of citrus farmers in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra were male with a total of 64 people, aged over 27 years, had a land area of under 2.5 hectares, had secondary education, namely SMA-D3, with experience over 10 years in farming. oranges, have high motivation, and have citrus productivity levels that vary in the range of 5000-30,000 kg/ha. The results of the comparative analysis can be concluded that there are significant differences in citrus productivity among groups of farmers classified based on level of education, land tenure and competency. Whereas in the classification of farmer groups based on experience and motivation, the productivity is not different.

Abstract

Pineapple is one of the mainstay commodities in West Java, but even so, the production still fluctuates, as well as the income of the farmers. Many factors will influence both of them. The purpose of this research is to find out descriptively the production of pineapples and the farmers' income, then related to their characteristics. The method used is secondary data analysis. Data analysis tools used include descriptive statistics and cross-tabulations. The results showed that the most dominant Bogor pineapple farmers were aged 36-45 years, who had graduated from elementary school, also had farming experience of around 1-15 years, the majority of the land area used by farmers was less than 0.5 hectares, and those who owned related to pineapple production and farmers' income is the level of education.

Abstract

Laksana Tourism Village has the potential to become a better tourist destination. The situation shows that the management of community-based tourism villages is not good enough. This study aims to determine the level of community participation. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey techniques. The object analyzed is the community involved in tourism activities. The data analyzed are the results of interviews, questionnaires, literature studies, and field documentation. Research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with a Likert scale. The results of this study are that community participation in the Tourism Village at the planning stage is still dominated by external parties and certain groups of people, at the implementation stage it involves almost the entire community, the utilization stage of the results shows there is a clear profit sharing but not yet transparent report, and at the evaluation stage there is no continuous evaluation.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPemanasan global selama abad terakhir telah mengakibatkan perubahan iklim yang sebagian besar terindikasi sebagai bencana lingkungan hidup seperti banjir, kekeringan dan bergesernya musim hujan. Bencana-bencana lingkungan hidup ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap sektor pertanian karena sektor ini memiliki ketergantungan tinggi pada kondisi iklim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak perubahan iklim terhadap perilaku mitigatif petani dan pendapatan petani. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survey-eksplanatory, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel multi-stage cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa dampak perubahan iklim terhadap perilaku mitigatif petani adalah bahwa secara umum perilaku petani padi sawah di Jawa Barat dan Jawa Timur telah cukup sesuai dengan perilaku yang mitigatif terhadap perubahan iklim seperti memperluas lahan, pemilihan sumber irigasi, memilih varietas unggul berorientasi iklim, pertimbangan iklim dalam memilih pupuk, perbaikan teknik usahatani, perubahan pola tanam serta menggeser masa tanam dan waktu panen. Sedangkan yang belum sesuai dengan perilaku yang mitigatif terhadap perubahan iklim adalah masih sedikitnya yang mengikuti sekolah iklim. Perilaku-perilaku mitigatif yang telah dilakukan sebagian besar petani terhadap perubahan iklim menyebabkan produktivitas padi petani menjadi meningkat sehingga menyebabkan pendapatan petani di Jawa Barat dan Jawa Timur menjadi meningkat pula. ABSTRACTGlobal warming over the past century has caused the climate change which mostly indicated as the environmental disasters such as floods, droughts and shifting rainy season. Environmental disasters are very influential on the agricultural sector because this sector has a high dependence on climatic conditions. This research aims to examine the impact of climate change on mitigative behavior of farmers and farmers' income. The research was conducted by Survey-explanatory method by using Multi Stage Cluster Random Sampling Techniques. Results revealed that the impact of climate change on farmer’s mitigative behavior is that in general rice farmer’s behavior in West Java and East Java have been quite in accordance with the behavior mitigative to climate change such expanding the field, selecting irrigation source, selecting climate-oriented varieties, climate considerations in choosing fertilizers, improved farming techniques, changes in cropping patterns and shifts the planting and harvest time. Meanwhile, the farmer’s behavior that is not in accordance with the mitigative behavior to climate change are still at least that followed the climate school. Mitigative behaviors that have been done by the most of farmers to climate change led to the productivity of rice farmers be increased, causing farmers’ income in West Java and East Java to be increased as well.

Abstract

Fruits and their preparations are beneficial in maintaining the body's immunity, but students are included in the group that consumes them less. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of students and their families, and to relate them to consumption patterns of fruit and its preparations. The research method used is survey. The data analysis technique used includes descriptive statistics. Respondents in the study were students of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Padjadjaran. Research shows the characteristics of the majority of respondents are women, aged 20 years, living in boarding houses. The majority of respondents' pocket money is 500 thousand - 1.5 million rupiah, spending on consumption of fruit and processed products is less than 150 thousand rupiah, has a family size of 4 people, and the last education of their parents is university. Popular types of fruit to consume are mangoes and fruit juices. The number of respondents with a minimum consumption of 150 grams/day was only 9%. These results are dominated by male respondents, have an pocket money of IDR 500 thousand -1.5 million, consumption expenditure ≥ IDR 150 thousand, the number of family members is 4-5 people and their parents' education is university. INTISARIBuah beserta olahannya bermanfaat dalam menjaga imunitas tubuh, tetapi mahasiswa termasuk ke dalam kelompok yang kurang dalam mengonsumsinya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik mahasiswa dan keluarganya, serta dihubungkan dengan pola konsumsi buah dan olahannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi statistik deskriptif. Responden pada penelitian adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian menunjukkan  karakteristik responden mayoritas perempuan, berusia 20 tahun, tinggal di kos. Mayoritas uang saku responden 500 ribu – 1.5 juta rupiah, Pengeluaran untuk konsumsi buah dan olahannya kurang dari 150 ribu rupiah, memiliki jumlah anggota keluarga 4 orang, serta pendidikan terakhir orang tua yaitu perguruan tinggi. Jenis buah populer untuk dikonsumsi adalah mangga dan jus buah. Jumlah tesponden dengan jumlah konsumisinya minimal 150 gram/hari hanya 9%. Hasil tersebut didominasi oleh Responden laki -laki, memiliki uang saku Rp 500 ribu -1,5 Juta, pengeluaran konsumsi ≥Rp 150 ribu, jumlah anggota keluarga 4-5 orang dan pendidikan orangtuanya adalah perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

Pada masa pandemi Covid-19, WHO menganjurkan masyarakat termasuk mahasiswa untuk mengkonsumsi makanan yang baik guna meningkatkan imunitas tubuh. Salah stu jenis makanan yang dapat meningkatkan imun tubuh adalah makanan Fermentasi akan tetapi ralitanya masyarakat indonesia masih rendah dalam mengkonsumsi makanan fermentasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Menjelaskan faktor-faktor apa saja yang berhubungan dengan pola konsumsi makanan fermentasi . Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah uji chi-square . Responden penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran dengan ukuran sampel 60 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Terdapat hubungan antara faktor motivasi dan faktor peran teman sebaya terhadap variabel frekuensi konsumsi makanan fermentasi. ABSTRACTDuring the Covid-19 pandemic, WHO advised the public, including students, to consume good food to increase body immunity. One type of food that can increase the body's immunity is fermented food, but the reality is that Indonesian people are still low in consuming fermented food. The purpose of this study is to explain what factors are related to the pattern of consumption of fermented foods. This study uses a quantitative design with a survey method and the analytical technique used is the chi-square test. Respondents in this study were students of Padjadjaran University with a sample size of 60 people. The results showed that there was a relationship between motivational factors and peer factors on the variable frequency of consumption of fermented foods.

Abstract

Majalengka has a large area of mango plantations, but farmers' income is still low. The purpose of this study is to describe the area and identify the relationship between land area and the income of mango farmers in Majalengka Regency. This study uses a quantitative research design with primary data analysis, namely the population of mango farmers in Majalengka Regency is 130 people. The data were analyzed using a descriptive statistical approach using a cross tabulation tool and using the chi-squared test through tables. The results showed that there was a relationship between the level of education and the area of land and income of mango farmers.Kewords: mango farmers; land area; farmer’s incomeINTISARI Majalengka memiliki lahan perkebunan mangga yang cukup luas, tetapi pendapatan petani masih rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan luas dan mengidentifikasikan hubungan luas lahan terhadap pendapatan petani mangga Kabupaten Majalengka. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan analisis data primer yaitu populasi petani mangga Kabupaten Majalengka sebanyak 130 orang. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan statistika deskriptif dengan alat cross tabulation serta penggunaan chi-squared test melalui tabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang antara tingkat pendidikan dengan luas lahan dan pendapatan petani mangga.

Abstract

Maintaining body immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic is important, one of the efforts that can be done is by increasing the consumption of fermented foods. However, the consumption of these foods in students is still low. The purpose of this study was to describe respondents’ consumption patterns of fermented food before and during the pandemic. This study uses a quantitative design with survey methods and the analytical technique used is descriptive The respondents of this study were students of Padjadjaran University with a sample size of 77 people. The results showed that There is a change in consumption patterns during the pandemic, namely the frequency of consumption (3-4 times/week) increasing to 53%. Consumption of more than 5 types of fermented food decreased to 14% and the consumption portion of respondents also decreased by 3%. INTISARIMenjaga imunitas tubuh di masa pandemi Covid-19 merupakan hal yang penting, salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan meningkatkan konsumsi makanan fermentasi. Namun, kenyataannya konsumsi makanan tersebut pada mahasiswa masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pola konsumsi makanan fermentasi responden pada sebelum dan saat masa pandemi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis data deskriptif. Responden penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran dengan ukuran sampel 77 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Terdapat perubahan pola konsumsi di masa pandemi yaitu frekuensi konsumsi (3-4 kali/minggu) meningkat menjadi 53%. Konsumsi lebih dari 5 jenis makanan fermentasi menurun menjadi 14% dan porsi konsumsi pada responden juga mengalami penurunan sebesar 3%.

Abstract

Mango farmers have been working hard on their farm for a long time, hoping that their income will increase. However, in reality their income still often fluctuates. The purpose of this study was to identify the individual characteristics of mango farmers and Cirebon District, and to understand the influence of these farmer characteristics on their income in Cirebon District. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive method, with an analytical technique involving multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that as much as 66% of the mango farmers in Cirebon Regency have a low level of education, namely elementary school graduates. In addition, 45% of farmers are in the productive age range between 53 to 65 years. As many as 67% of farmers have a main job as mango farmers, and 95% of them have low income. Furthermore, this study reveals that the factor that most influences farmers' income is the main occupation, with a t-value of 3.228. Meanwhile, education level and age have t values of -1.770 and -2.139, respectively. INTISARI Para petani mangga telah lama berusaha keras dalam usahataninya, dengan harapan pendapatan mereka akan meningkat. Namun, kenyataannya pendapatan mereka masih sering mengalami fluktuasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik individu petani mangga dan Kabupaten Cirebon, serta untuk memahami pengaruh karakteristik petani tersebut terhadap pendapatan mereka di Kabupaten Cirebon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan teknik analisis yang melibatkan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 66% dari petani mangga di Kabupaten Cirebon memiliki tingkat pendidikan yang rendah, yaitu tamat SD. Selain itu, 45% petani berada dalam rentang usia produktif antara 53 hingga 65 tahun. Sebanyak 67% petani memiliki pekerjaan utama sebagai petani mangga, dan 95% dari mereka memiliki pendapatan yang rendah. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap pendapatan petani adalah pekerjaan utama, dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 3,228. Sementara itu, tingkat pendidikan dan usia memiliki nilai t hitung masing-masing sebesar -1,770 dan -2,139.

Abstract

Post-harvest handling has a big role in increasing farmers income, including mango farmers. However, a lot of farmers still are not carrying out post-harvest handling because it is considered to increase the costs that must be incurred. This study aim was to describe and analyze the relationship between post-harvest handling and income earned by mango farmers and describing the strategy of increasing farmers income by post-harvest handling. This research was conducted using secondary data from the survey of mango farmers in Indramayu with a sample of 130 people. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics analysis and Pearson analysis that were combined with qualitative data analysis of the survey . This study found that there is a relationship between post-harvest handling and income earned. Mango farmers who do post-harvest handling tend to get higher incomes than farmers who do not handle post-harvest. This can be seen from several variables, namely sorting, washing, grading, and packaging. Keywords: Postharvest handling, Mango farmers, Farmer's income INTISARI Peran penanganan pasca panen sangat besar terhadap peningkatan pendapatan petani, termasuk petani mangga. Namun, masih banyak petani yang tidak melakukan penanganan pasca panen karena dinilai menambah biaya yang harus dikeluarkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis keterkaitan penanganan pasca panen terhadap pendapatan yang diperoleh oleh petani mangga dan juga menjelaskan strategi peningkatan pendapatan petani melalui penanganan pasca panen. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan data sekunder dari hasil survey petani mangga yang berada di Indramayu dengan sampel sebanyak 130 orang yang diambil secara acak dengan menggunakan teknik sampling acak sederhana. Data dianalisis menggunakan alat analisis descriptive statistics analysis dan analisis Pearson yang dipadukan dengan analisis data kualitatif. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat keterkaitan antara penanganan pasca panen terhadap pendapatan yang diperoleh. Petani mangga yang melakukan penanganan pasca panen cenderung mendapatkan pendapatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan petani yang tidak melakukan penanganan pasca panen. Hal ini terlihat dari beberapa variabel yaitu sortasi, pencucian, grading, dan pengemasan.
