Abstract

Low levels of teacher collaboration and varying professional competence remain key challenges in improving the quality of elementary education. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of a transformational–distributed leadership model in fostering a collaborative teacher culture and enhancing professional competence. This study employed a research and development (R&D) approach based on the model of Walter R. Borg and Meredith D. Gall, consisting of planning, model development, trial, and revision stages. The participants included principals, teachers, and school supervisors. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and document analysis and analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The findings indicate that the developed model is effective in improving teacher collaboration and professional competence. The mean score of teacher collaboration increased from 2.85 to 4.21, while professional competence improved from 3.02 to 4.18. The model also demonstrated high levels of practicality and relevance. Qualitative results revealed increased teacher engagement in joint planning, collaborative decision-making, and professional development activities. The novelty of this study lies in integrating transformational and distributed leadership into a validated operational model that simultaneously targets collaborative culture and teacher professional competence in elementary schools. In conclusion, the transformational–distributed leadership model is effective and offers a practical framework for school leaders to promote sustainable, collaboration-based school improvement.

Abstract

enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penggunaan blended learning dalam pembelajaran menulis Bahasa Indonesia melalui pendekatan studi literatur. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada masih rendahnya keterampilan menulis siswa yang disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor, seperti metode pembelajaran yang kurang variatif, rendahnya motivasi belajar, serta keterbatasan waktu pembelajaran di kelas. Blended learning hadir sebagai solusi inovatif dengan mengintegrasikan pembelajaran tatap muka dan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi digital, sehingga memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih fleksibel dan interaktif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa dokumentasi dari berbagai sumber pustaka yang relevan, seperti jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan hasil penelitian terdahulu dalam kurun waktu lima hingga sepuluh tahun terakhir. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa blended learning memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa, terutama dalam pengembangan ide, penyusunan struktur tulisan, dan penggunaan bahasa yang sistematis. Selain itu, model ini juga mampu meningkatkan motivasi, keterlibatan, serta kemandirian belajar siswa. Blended learning juga memberikan kemudahan bagi guru dalam memberikan umpan balik yang cepat dan berkelanjutan. Namun demikian, implementasinya masih menghadapi beberapa kendala, seperti keterbatasan akses teknologi, rendahnya literasi digital, serta kesiapan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan dukungan dari berbagai pihak untuk mengoptimalkan penerapan blended learning dalam pembelajaran menulis Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Self-development–based workshops are considered an effective strategy to enhance teachers’ motivation and performance at the elementary school level. This community service program aimed to improve both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of teachers and to strengthen their professional commitment in implementing quality learning practices in Barru Regency. The identified problems included low work motivation, limited professional self-reflection, and suboptimal teacher performance in lesson planning and instructional implementation. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of needs assessment, material presentation, self-reflection sessions, group discussions, simulations, and evaluation. A total of 35 elementary school teachers from several schools in Barru Regency participated in the workshop. The results indicated an increase in teachers’ understanding of continuous self-development, improved work motivation, and positive changes in attitudes toward enhancing instructional quality. Evaluation through questionnaires and observations showed an improvement in motivation scores and teacher performance indicators after the workshop. The program contributed positively to strengthening professional awareness and fostering a more productive work culture within schools. In conclusion, self-development–based workshops are effective in improving the motivation and performance of elementary school teachers in Barru Regency. It is recommended that such programs be implemented continuously as part of local teacher professional development strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the forms of verbal violence committed by teachers against students during the teaching of Indonesian language at MTsN Wajo and to identify the underlying causes. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through classroom observations, audio recordings of teacher-student interactions, structured interviews, and linguistic analysis based on Infante and Wigley’s (1986) theoretical framework. The results reveal that verbal violence by teachers is manifested in nine dominant forms: insults, ridicule, sarcasm, demeaning comments, non-constructive criticism, character attacks, verbal threats, innuendos, and verbal harassment. These forms of verbal aggression have adverse psychological impacts on students, including decreased self-confidence, reduced motivation, and the emergence of fear and anxiety. The main contributing factors include emotional pressure on teachers, administrative workload, lack of training in educational communication, and weak regulatory and reporting systems in schools. These findings underscore the urgency of pedagogical reform through empathetic communication training, reflective supervision, and the development of communication ethics rooted in humanistic and equitable learning practices. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bentuk-bentuk kekerasan verbal yang dilakukan oleh guru terhadap siswa dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di MTsN Wajo serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebabnya. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung, perekaman audio interaksi kelas, wawancara terstruktur dengan guru, serta transkripsi dan analisis linguistik berdasarkan kerangka teori Infante dan Wigley (1986). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kekerasan verbal guru termanifestasi dalam sembilan bentuk dominan, yaitu penghinaan, ejekan, sarkasme, pernyataan meremehkan, kritik tidak konstruktif, serangan terhadap karakter, ancaman verbal, sindiran, dan pelecehan verbal. Kekerasan verbal tersebut berdampak negatif pada psikologi siswa, seperti penurunan kepercayaan diri, rendahnya motivasi belajar, serta munculnya rasa takut dan kecemasan. Faktor penyebab utamanya meliputi tekanan emosional guru, beban administratif, minimnya pelatihan komunikasi edukatif, dan lemahnya regulasi serta sistem pelaporan di sekolah. Temuan ini menegaskan urgensi reformasi pedagogi melalui pelatihan komunikasi empatik, supervisi reflektif, dan pembangunan etika komunikasi yang berorientasi pada pembelajaran humanistik dan berkeadilan.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi kesantunan berbahasa dalam berkomunikasi di lingkungan keluarga masyarakat Bugis dan Makassar di Kota Makassar. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data berasal dari anggota keluarga masyarakat Bugis dan Makassar. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bentuk kesantunan berbahasa di lingkungan keluarga masyarakat Bugis dan Makassar terdiri dari maksim kebijaksanaan, kedermawanan, pujian, kerendahan hati, kesetujuan dan simpati. Fungsi kesantunan berbahasa terdiri dari fungsi menyatakan, menanyakan, memerintah, meminta maaf, dan mengkritik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap praktik penggunaan media digital oleh guru Bahasa Indonesia di UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Parepare, meliputi: (1) pemanfaatan media pembelajaran digital, (2) penggunaan media sosial dalam proses belajar mengajar, dan (3) pemakaian mesin pencari sebagai sumber materi ajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek guru Bahasa Indonesia. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah memanfaatkan media digital dalam pembelajaran, terutama video pembelajaran (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) dan media visual (seperti Canva). Kendala utama yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan waktu, gangguan jaringan internet, serta kurangnya keterampilan teknologi. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, guru mengatur jadwal, mengikuti pelatihan, dan memanfaatkan platform digital gratis. Penggunaan media sosial seperti WhatsApp, YouTube, dan TikTok dinilai efektif karena informatif, menarik, dan mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa. Sementara itu, dalam mencari referensi, guru menggunakan berbagai mesin pencari seperti Google, Google Scholar, Bing, Yahoo!, Brainly, ChatGPT, dan Scribd. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam pencarian informasi adalah kurangnya akurasi dan keterbatasan referensi. Guru mengatasinya dengan memilih sumber yang telah diverifikasi.

Abstract

Abstrak. Perubahan paradigma pendidikan menuju era digital dan Kurikulum Merdeka menuntut guru mengintegrasikan teknologi, pedagogi, konten, dan kreativitas dalam pembelajaran. Urgensi tersebut semakin terasa ketika hasil Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022 menunjukkan bahwa hanya sekitar 18 % siswa Indonesia mencapai minimal level 2 matematika (rata‑rata OECD 69 %), 25 % mencapai level 2 membaca (rata‑rata 74 %), dan 34 % mencapai level 2 sains (rata‑rata 76 %); hampir tidak ada siswa yang tergolong top performer (Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD), 2023). Untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar Islam Celebes (CIS), kami melaksanakan program Capacity Building selama dua hari (6‑7 Juli 2025) dengan fokus integrasi Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) serta Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics (STEAM). Peserta berjumlah 52 guru jenjang Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini dan sekolah dasar. Program dirancang interaktif dengan pemaparan konsep, studi kasus, simulasi, curah pendapat, praktik mandiri, serta demonstrasi penggunaan kecerdasan buatan (AI), pengeditan video, dan Metode Ummi untuk pengajaran Al‑Qur’an. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman TPACK‑STEAM serta kepercayaan diri peserta dalam merancang Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) berbasis teknologi; lebih dari 90 % peserta menyatakan mampu membuat materi ajar baru dengan bantuan AI dan video. Temuan ini sejalan dengan berbagai studi yang menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan profesional berbasis TPACK‑STEAM dapat meningkatkan kompetensi guru (Martins & Baptista, 2024; Wahono dkk., 2025). Kesimpulannya, integrasi TPACK‑STEAM dalam program capacity building efektif meningkatkan kapasitas guru; keberlanjutan program perlu didukung melalui pendampingan dan komunitas belajar.Kata kunci: Capacity Building; TPACK‑STEAM; Kecerdasan Buatan

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the professional competence of elementary school teachers in Barru Regency in designing and implementing the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning model in Science subjects. Twenty-first-century learning requires teachers to integrate multiple disciplines to develop students’ critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative skills. However, in practice, elementary school teachers still face limitations in understanding and skills in implementing integrated STEAM-based learning. The implementation method for this community service uses a training and mentoring approach, including the socialization of STEAM concepts, workshops on developing STEAM-based science learning tools, teaching practice, and reflection and evaluation. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in teachers’ understanding of the STEAM concept and their ability to develop STEAM-based science learning tools. This activity is expected to contribute to improving the quality of science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The phenomenon of corruption normalization in the digital era has triggered collective apathy and eroded human integrity amid corrupt bureaucratic practices, as portrayed by Ahmad Tohari in the novel Orang-Orang Proyek. This study aims to analyze how the novel reactualizes the prophetic function of literature in confronting bureaucratic pathology by employing the Prophetic Literature paradigm proposed by Kuntowijoyo. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a hermeneutic approach and content analysis techniques, this research examines the narrative of the character Kabul based on the three pillars of prophetic values: humanization, liberation, and transcendence. The findings reveal that the character Kabul represents a prophetic subject who successfully integrates professional expertise with moral-religious commitment. The aspect of humanization is reflected in Kabul’s efforts to protect the dignity of ordinary people from the dehumanizing practices within development projects. The aspect of liberation is manifested in his resistance to the “culture of tolerance” toward corruption and political pressure within the bureaucracy. Meanwhile, the aspect of transcendence appears in Kabul’s integrity, which frames his work as a spiritual mandate that transcends material interests. Therefore, this study affirms that the novel Orang-Orang Proyek functions not only as a representation of social reality but also as an instrument of social transformation and a medium of cultural dakwah that offers ethical solutions to the crisis of humanity and bureaucratic pathology in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of a deep learning approach in a argumentative writing instruction on the critical thinking skills and the quality of the rhetorical structure of students' writing in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups, namely the experimental class and the control class. The research sample consisted of 70 students consisting of 35 students in the experimental class and 35 students in the control class. Data collection techniques were carried out through argumentative writing tests and critical thinking ability tests carried out at the pretest and posttest stages. The data obtained were analyzed using inferential statistical analysis through an independent sample t-test. The results of the study showed that the application of the deep learning approach had a significant effect on improving students' argumentative writing skills. This was indicated by an increase in the average score in the experimental class which was higher than the control class. In addition, students in the experimental class showed better abilities in compiling the rhetorical structure of the text, which includes claims, reasons, evidence, and conclusions more systematically. The findings of this study indicate that the deep learning approach can encourage students to think more critically and develop arguments more logically and structured in academic writing. Thus, this approach can be an effective learning strategy to improve the quality of writing learning in higher education.
