Abstract

Basic Competency in Vocational subjects in Mechanical Engineering, vocational students have always faced the problems associated with engineering science to be done to establish the expected curriculum vocational competence. One solution that is considered suitable to solve the problem is the application of problem based learning, problem-solving method based discussion group. With the implementation of the model is expected to improve learning outcomes and student activities. The research method is a method of Classroom Action Research. The results showed that the application of problem based learning-based discussion group can improve student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain of the N-Gain 0.71 in the high category. The average value of 82.12 in the affective domain of the positive category and the average value of 90.9 in the psychomotor domain of very good category, while the average value of student activities at the low category.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pembelajaran umumnya dilaksanakan dengan tatap muka di dalam ruang-ruang kelas, setelah adanya fenomena wabah virus corona disease 2019 (COVID-19) kegiatan pembelajaran mengalami perubahan proses belajar dan mengajar. Transformasi digital secara terpaksa ini adalah cara yang paling aman untuk memutus penyebaran wabah virus corona. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui minat belajar mahasiswa, yang menggunakan media presentasi interaktif AhaSlides dikombinasikan dengan aplikasi Zoom saat pandemi Corona Virus Desease 2019 (COVID-19). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui penerapan media presentasi interaktif AhaSlides. Mengetahui minat belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Sasis Otomotif yang menggunakan media presentasi interaktif AhaSlides. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen (Pre-Experimental Designs) degan desain One-Shot Case Study, untuk hasil dan pembahasan menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah semua mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Mesin konsentrasi Otomotif tahun angkatan 2017, dengan teknik penentuan sampel yaitu sampel kelompok. Berdasarkan data yang didapatkan saat penelitian, kemudian dilakukan analisis dan perhitungan didapatkan hasil penelitian sebagai berikut:  Media presentasi interaktif AhaSlides diterapkan untuk kegiatan pembelajaran, selanjutnya mahasiswa diminta untuk memahami materi dalam halaman slide media AhaSlides. 2. Minat belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Sasis Otomotif yang menggunaan media presentasi interaktif AhaSlides mendapatkan respon 4% netral, 68% setuju, dan 28% sangat setuju. Hasil tersebut termasuk kedalam kategori positif/tinggi, sehingga media ini dikatakan dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.Kata kunci: AhaSlides; Minat Belajar; Belajar; Zoom

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data hasil belajar siswa pada kompetensi dasar mekanisme katup mata pelajaran Pemeliharaan Mesin Sepeda Motor. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pre-eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest posttest.Instrumen pengumpul data menggunakan tes dan lembar observasi keaktifan siswa.Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa tingkat keaktifan siswa ketika belajar diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 70%. Nilai tersebut masuk dalam kategori aktif. Aspek aktifitas belajar yang diamati ada tujuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai berikut: memperhatikan 70%, mencatat 64%, bertanya 64%, menjawab 61%, mendengar 76%, partisipasi 75% dan antusiasme 74%.  Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran alat peraga engine cutting sepeda motor mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada kompetensi dasar mekanisme katup.

Abstract

The learning process can improve student learning outcomes and school quality. Benchmarks used are learning achievement refers to educational achievement that includes cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Learning media are tools that can make learning activities effective. In fact there are still many students who find grades below the minimum graduation keriteria standards. The purpose of the research is to develop an Android-based interactive media which is appropriate to improve learning outcomes. This media helps students overcome difficulties in understanding on: understanding, function, component naming, work methods and working principles, how to care and stages of breathing and installing on Differential material. The research design uses the five stages of the ADDIE model of the research procedure using the One group Pretest-Posttest design. The result is the average student value of 12.80 in Pretest, after treatment the average value of Posttest increased to 83.23 with the highest value of96. This media is able to increase learning outcomes (N-gain), the results of this study showed thelearning media can increase student interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes after the application of rack and pinion simulators in the subject of chassis maintenance and power transfer systems. Learning basic competencies in understanding the steering system at SMK Negeri 1 Cisarua still does not use simulators because there are no such facilities. This study uses the Quasi Experiment method. Learning outcomes are known from the pretest and posttest scores and are proven by N-gain. The results showed that the application of rack and pinion simulators succeeded in increasing learning outcomes, seen from the increase in the average value of the experimental class from pretest 53.68 increased at posttest to 68.16. The N-Gain value of the experimental class doing learning using rack and pinion simulator media is 0.31 which is included in the medium category, while the N-Gain value of the control class conducting learning without using rack and pinion simulator media is only 0.19 included in the low category.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes over the past four years show that more than half the number of students get a fairly low value. This condition occurs due to many factors, one of which is the learning process that still uses the lecture method and the use of simple learning media. This study aims to produce the development of Autodesk Inventor based multimedia animation on kinematics acceleration material, as well as to find out the increase in students' generic science skills on kinematics acceleration material.This research uses the ADDIE development method, and uses the Pre Experimental Design research design with the type of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This study was conducted on 25 samples of Mechanical Engineering Education students in 2015. The application of generic science syntax in this study consisted of modeling, symbolic language, causal law, logical consistency, observation, and awareness of scale. The results obtained showed that there was an increase in the generic science skills of studentsafter the implementation of Autodesk Inventor-based multimedia animation on kinematics acceleration material. This is evidenced by the average N-gain value of students of 0.63 in the medium category. The highest increase in generic science skills occurredin the observation aspect with an N-gain value of 0.65, and the lowest increase occurred in the aspect of symbolic language with an N-gain value of 0.52 which was included in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information from prospective vocational teacher students about the benefits of competency-based modules in facilitating them to design syllabus and lesson plan (RPP). This study used a qualitative method with research participants who were students of mechanical engineering education as vocational teacher candidates at a state university in Bandung. The informants involved in this study were five students consisting of three men and two women who had already carried out a lesson planning course. The method used to collect data is Focus Group Discussion (FGD) which is used to obtain general information and individual interviews to obtain more specific data. The results showed that the availability of competency-based modules was very helpful for students in guiding the preparation of syllabus and lesson plans. So that, this research will have implications for the achievement of student competencies in planning the teaching and learning process according to the demands of the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain data on the implementation of online learning, obstacles and solutions in productive subjects of Motorcycle Engineering and Business during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is descriptive method. Data collection instruments used observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were 5 students majoring in Motorcycle Engineering and Business. The results of the study indicate that online learning is carried out in accordance with applicable learning standards. Learning is carried out remotely so that learning time is limited, not all the basic competencies in the syllabus are given to students, the internet network is not stable, not all students have smartphones and tools materials for practice at home. The solutions to overcome these obstacles are that schools provide smartphones for students, basic competencies are selected based on the needs in the workshop, use the Whatsapp application for online learning, and teachers make modules so that students can learn independently at home easily. In general, theoretical learning can run well, but practical learning cannot be implemented optimally.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan karena adanya perubahan kebutuhan keterampilan Operator Mesin yang berubah dengan cepat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai atau mengevaluasi kebutuhan employability skills yang spesifik untuk Operator Mesin. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksploratif. Desain penelitian dan menggunakan kuesioner Online Survey Monkey dalam proses pengumpulan data. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Industri manufaktur logam dan mesin yang berada di wilayah provinsi DKI Jakarta, Banten dan Jawa Barat dengan jumlah sampel berjumlah 98 orang. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu kebutuhan employability skills yang dibutuhkan untuk operator mesin adalah; Keterampilan Dasar, Keterampilan Berpikir, Kualitas Pribadi, Manajemen Sumber Daya, Keterampilan interpersonal, Manajemen informasi, Sistem dan Teknologi. ABSTRACT This research was carried out because of change of Machine Operator skills that change quickly. The aim of this research is to assess and evaluate the essential employability skills of Machine Operator. This research method used an exploratory method and the online questionnaire used SurveyMonkey. The population of this research is metal and machinery manufacturing industry which in Jakarta, Banten, and West Java, with 98 people as samples. The result of this research is the employability skills needed  Machine Operator, there are Basic Skills, Thinking Skills, Personal Quality, Resource Management, Interpersonal Skills, Information Management, Systems and Technology.

Abstract

Entering the digital era, communication and information technology continues to experience development. Therefore the development of these technologies must be adopted and utilized for educational purposes. The availability of teaching materials in the sample environment under study is still very limited, existing learning resources are still general in nature and still contain concepts with conventional formats. The purpose of this study was to determine the need for website-based learning for vocational students. The research sample was taken using Purposive Sampling as many as five Chemical Engineering students. Data collection is done by semi-structured interview methods, unstructured observation and field documentation to determine the urgency of the need for web-based teaching materials. The research instrument was the researcher herself with the help of interview guides. The collected data is then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's analysis theory, then triangulated to find out its validity. Based on the triangulation results from the three data, students are very interested in web-based learning. This research is expected to provide recommendations to policy makers to be able to meet the needs of web-based teaching materials for vocational students to improve their learning outcomes.
