Abstract

The Turbine Guide Bearing (TGB) is a critical component at the Siguragura Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), responsible for ensuring the turbine shaft rotates on its axis, allowing the turbine to operate efficiently without excessive heat buildup that could lead to failure. This requires continuous temperature monitoring of the Turbine Guide Bearing. The temperature sensors used for this monitoring are the Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) and the Liquid Filled Thermometer. These two sensors operate based on different mechanisms, making it essential to analyze their performance to ensure compatibility and maintain the accuracy and reliability of temperature measurements. Based on calibration and field testing results, the RTD sensor demonstrated more accurate and stable temperature readings, with a minimal deviation from the standard and linear, non-fluctuating results. On the other hand, the Liquid Filled Thermometer was more responsive, with a faster response time to reach the reference temperature. Therefore, the most suitable sensor for measuring the temperature of the Turbine Guide Bearing at Siguragura HPP is the RTD as the primary sensor, while the Liquid Filled Thermometer can serve as a redundant sensor.

Abstract

Electric energy has crucial role in today's life. In its usage, the kWh meter holds significant importance in measuring electricity consumption, aiming to secure revenue from the company's perspective. PT PLN (Persero), as the primary provider of electricity, uses kWh meters as a medium for transactions with consumers. PT PLN (Persero)'s revenue is derived from the sale of electricity delivered to consumers, as measured by kWh meters. Therefore, it is essential that the measurement of consumer electricity consumption through the kWh meter is accurate, ensuring no energy is unaccounted for. To achieve accurate measurements, monitoring and evaluation of field implementation and the equipment used are necessary. If not carried out properly, it may lead to losses in the form of non-technical losses, which could occur due to electricity theft or damaged or malfunctioning kWh meters owned by customers. The replacement of faulty kWh meters aims to avoid errors in measuring electricity consumption, which could affect the billing of electricity usage payments.

Abstract

Productivity is a comparison between the results achieved (output) with the overall required resources (input) or a comparison between the results achieved with the role of labor per unit time. The purpose of this study was to study Down Time analysis techniques for productivity in a wheat processing company (PT. Eastern Pearl Flour Mills Makassar), which produces wheat flour products of the Gatotkaca, Gunung, Kompas and Gerbang types. Down Time is the amount of time when a tool/machine cannot operate due to failure, but the factory can still operate because there are still other tools/machines that can replace functions so that the production process can still run. Based on the data analysis of the calculation of down time for manpower, it shows that the existence of down time during the process will affect the level of productivity (actual and standard). The value of down time from the calculation of working hours minus work effectiveness results in down time for each production area each month. The manpower down time results from all areas, namely in the area of 0 minutes/month. While the amount of data from the analysis of down time calculations for machines in all areas has a higher number of machine down times, namely in the milling area of 28 hours. And for the lowest results, namely in the area of unloading, cleaning, and packing, it is 0 hours.
