Abstract

The reliability of the electric power distribution system plays a crucial role in ensuring a stable and continuous power supply to consumers. This study analyzes the performance reliability of the 20 kV distribution network at PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 North Medan by evaluating key reliability indices, including SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index), SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index), and CAIDI (Customer Average Interruption Duration Index). The research methodology involves data collection from historical outage records, fault analysis, and statistical evaluation of reliability indices. The findings indicate that the reliability performance of the 20 kV distribution network in UP3 North Medan is influenced by various factors, such as equipment failures, weather conditions, and external disturbances. Based on the analysis, strategies for improving reliability are proposed, including preventive maintenance, network automation, and enhanced fault detection systems. By implementing these measures, PLN can improve service quality and reduce power outages, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and system efficiency.

Abstract

The integration of computer-based simulations in electrical engineering education enhances students' understanding of complex concepts such as Geometric Mean Radius (GMR) and Geometric Mean Distance (GMD) in transmission line systems. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a MATLAB-based simulation tool to support learning in voltage regulation and efficiency analysis. Adopting a Research and Development (RD) methodology guided by the ADDIE model, the simulation was tested with 32 electrical engineering students. Expert validation, conducted by three power systems professors and two instructional technology specialists, confirmed high content validity (average score 85%). Data analysis using SmartPLS revealed that simulation quality significantly influenced both conceptual understanding (β = 0.903) and learning effectiveness (β = 0.977), with strong model fit (R² = 0.846). Students’ comprehension of voltage regulation and efficiency improved significantly, as indicated by N-gain scores of 0.75 and 0.72, respectively, while parameter analysis proficiency rose from 42.8% to 80.7%. These findings suggest that the simulation tool not only enhances academic learning but also offers industrial benefits. Specifically, it provides power utilities with a cost-effective means to optimize transmission line designs, reducing iteration costs by up to 60%. It also enables rapid prototyping of conductor configurations and serves as a standardized platform for professional training. Furthermore, the tool supports sustainable energy efforts by improving the integration of renewable energy sources through optimized line parameter analysis.

Abstract

Nugget ayam merupakan salah satu produk frozen food. Nugget ayam merupakan inovasi pengolahan bahan pangan berbahan dasar daging unggas yang sangat populer di kalangan masyarakat. Produksi nugget ayam menghasilkan beberapa limbah seperti kulit ayam yang masih belum termanfaatkan secara optimal. Salah satu produk yang dapat diolah dari bahan baku kulit ayam adalah kerupuk kulit ayam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan analisa sensori terhadap beberapa fomulasi kerupuk kulit ayam sebagai pengembangan produk dari limbah frozen food nugget ayam. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini adalah penambahan tepung terigu dan tepung maizena (P0: kontrol, P1:tepung terigu 100%, P2: tepung terigu 90%+ tepung maizena 10%, P3:tepung terigu 50%+ tepung maizena 50%). Pengujian sensori dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode hedonik dengan parameter rasa, aroma, warna dan tekstur. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa formulasi kerupuk kulit ayam dengan penambahan 50% tepung terigu dan 50% tepung maizena memperoleh nilai sensori tertinggi dengan rasa, aroma, warna dan tekstur sangat disukai oleh panelis.

Abstract

Enhancing energy efficiency in industrial electrical distribution networks is a strategic imperative amid rising power consumption. This study simulates the impact of capacitor bank installation on power factor improvement and power loss reduction within a 20 kV medium-voltage distribution system that reflects the load profile of chemical industries, particularly at PT. Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia (UOI). A numerical simulation method is applied using reactive power calculations across load variations (800–1200 kW), implemented via scientific programming techniques. Results indicate a consistent improvement in power factor from 0.78 to 0.95, alongside a system loss reduction exceeding 700,000 relative units. Validation is conducted through comparative analysis with high-impact literature and national standards. This research offers a substantial contribution as a decision-making foundation for energy efficiency strategies in industrial sectors, promoting the adoption of reactive power compensation technologies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemahaman konsep matematika dengan menerapkan model Kooperatif tipe Vizualization, Auditory And Kinestetic (VAK) siswa kelas X MIPA 6 SMA Kartika XX-1 Makassar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan one-group pretest-posttest design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan Simple Randoml Sampling. Adapun kelas sampel terdiri dari 33 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode tes, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan lembar angket respon siswa. Pokok bahasan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah materi sistem persamaan linier tiga variabel. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor hasil posttest siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif Tipe VAK sebesar 84,48 sebesar 84,48 dari skor nilai ideal yang diperoleh siswa yaitu 100 dengan variansi sebesar 56,63 dan standar deviasi sebesar 7,52. Adapun skor tertinggi yaitu sebesar 98 dan skor terendah sebesar 70 dengan rentang skor yaitu 28. Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik inferensial terdapat perbedaan rata-rata antara pretest dan posttest. Dengan skor pretest 22,15 dan rata-rata skor posttest 84,48, pemahaman konsep matematika siswa meningkat setelah menerapkan model kooperatif Tipe VAK. Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan hasil analisis di atas, pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan model kooperatif Tipe VAK akan meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas X MIPA 6 SMA Kartika XX-1.

Abstract

The most appropriate period for learning a new language is considered the early childhood period, when children can learn languages easily and instinctively without, for instance, having to go through tedious textbooks. The objective of this review is to identify the best practices aimed at fostering foreign language acquisition by drawing upon previous empirical studies. The results indicate that the children's language skill development is greatly enhanced when the learning process is made fun through playful activities, and the singing and telling of stories. Structured approaches such as Total Physical Response (TPR), bilingual education, and even the active participation of the parents in the home language environment have been noted to foster language learning as well. Supporting early childhood learners and teachers with creativity and flexible instruction tailored to the rapidly growing characteristics of the children results in effective language acquisition, hence emerges as a key pillar on guiding principles towards successful language mastery. This review indicates that purposely designed instruction towards learners in their early years enhances teaching effectiveness yielding improved results while the use of active, direct, and fun-filled strategies yields better results in mastering languages.

Abstract

Masa Pandemi Covid-19 memiliki efek peningkatan dalam penggunaan peralatan listrik. Penggunaan peralatan listrik yang baik dan benar harus diketahui karena merupakan alat yang langsung bersentuhan dengan manusia. Bahaya-bahaya yang dapat ditimbulkan karena penggunaan yang salah dan pemakaian peralatan–peralatan listrik yang di luar standar merupakan tindakan yang dapat membahayakan pengguna dan lingkungan sekitar. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pemahaman tentang bahaya tegangan sentuh dan hubung singkat pada warga yang berada di desa Kota Pari, Serdang Bedagai. Penyampaian informasi dilakukan dengan metode wawancara langsung kepada warga yang berada pada desa Kota Pari sebagai analisis situasi, presentasi, pemutaran video dan tanya jawab merupakan metode yang dilakukan pada saat dilaksanakannya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Peningkatan pemahaman tentang bahaya tegangan sentuh dan hubung singkat berhasil dilakukan dengan hasil peningkatan sebesar 80%. Sehingga diharapkan warga desa kota Pari dapat lebih memahami dan menghindari bahaya kebakaran yang pernah terjadi pada wilayah Serdang Bedagai umumnya dan desa kota Pari khususnya.

Abstract

Good management of electrical loads from distribution substations will greatly affect the performance and reliability as well as continuity of installed load services. Related components include transformer capacity, conductors, safety devices, and so on. backup power supply source in case of blackout from PLN, then the harvester barracks in Marike have a standby generator. This generator is expected to be able to supply the electrical load in the palm oil harvester barracks area during the transfer from the main power source/PLN to the backup power source/generator. When PLN goes out, the generator will supply the load in the palm oil harvester barracks area of 65,000 Watts.The maximum load installed in each Harvester barracks in Marike reaches 2200 watts for 1 barrack, while the Harvester barracks in Marike have 17 barracks, so the total installed load reaches 2200 x 17 = 37,400 Watts. The total load installed as street lighting and the Harvester barracks area in Marike is = 2700 watts. The total load installed on Palm Oil Harvesters Barracks In Marikeis 50,125 VA. Maximum load + 20%. Generator capacity= 50,125 VA + (20% x 50,125VA) = 50,125 VA+ 10,025 VA = 60,150 VA (65 kVA). So it is calculated as 171.05A : 3 (Core) = 57.01A. So the protection used is worth 57 A. The size of the conductor with a current value of 57.01 A, then the diameter of the conductor needed is a NYY 35 mm2 conductor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan proses dan hasil pembelajaran dalam kemampuan dan keterampilan membaca puisi menggunakan model pembelajaran multimedia pada pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas V di Sekolah Dasar Negri 012 Gunung Sahilan Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Desain penelitian menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus meliputi perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui pengamatan, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, penugasan, dan pedoman wawancara. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Analisis data kualitatif digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan dalam proses pembelajaran, sedangkan analisis data kuantitatif digunakan untuk mengevaluasi hasil pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran multimedia berhasil meningkatkan proses pembelajaran (perhatian, retensi, reproduksi, dan motivasi) serta kemampuan dan keterampilan membaca puisi siswa (intonasi, lafal, volume, gestur, dan mimik) pada setiap siklus.

Abstract

Low-inertia power systems, especially those based on renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, face major challenges in maintaining frequency and voltage stability. The absence of mechanical inertia in these systems, which is usually available in synchronous generators, makes the system more vulnerable to load changes or network disturbances. Therefore, an effective control method is needed to maintain such stability. This study analysed the frequency and voltage stability control of low-inertia power systems using a Boost Converter. A Boost Converter is used to regulate and stabilize the output voltage of a fluctuating power source, such as a solar panel, by increasing the unstable input voltage. Meanwhile, a frequency control method such as is implemented to imitate mechanical inertia, thus maintaining the frequency at a desired value. The results show that the use of a Boost Converter effectively improves voltage stability, while a VSG-based frequency control strategy successfully imitates the inertia response of a synchronous generator, maintaining a stable frequency despite the system having low inertia. Thus, the combination of these two methods can improve the reliability of low-inertia power systems, especially in applications utilizing renewable energy sources.
