Abstract

Ethnomathematics learning is considered to be able to improve the reasoning power of elementary school level students because ethnomathematics learning describes all the things that form the cultural identity of a group which will stimulate students' reasoning power because with ethnomathematics it is easier for students to remember the essential characteristics of an object to be studied. Mathematical material that is presented by relating to the culture in the area where students live will be easier for students to understand. This is a consideration for researchers to use the Ethnomathematics approach which is presented in the form of a textbook. The results of this research obtained an Ethnomathematics-based textbook with a percentage of 94.16% in the Very Valid category. Next, in the trial stage, an average score of 96.10% was obtained from 12 class V students at SD Negeri 24 Pagar Alam in the very practical category.

Abstract

In the current digital era, easy and fast access to information positively influences students' ability to access helpful information in the learning process. This service aims to increase teachers' capacity to design and produce products in the form of infographic learning media. The technological innovation trained in this service is to realize the development in electronic and printed form through Canva for education. Participatory Action Research (PAR) is the method used in the implementation of service activities with stages: 1) giving an initial test, 2) implementing the service, 3) the final stage consisting of evaluation and reflection, and 4) giving the final test. The target participants of the service activities were elementary school teachers of science subjects in Palembang City. Based on the data obtained, there is an increase in test results with an N-gain of 0.81, which is included in the high category. Based on the above results, the training participants strongly agree that this service activity can increase their understanding and skills in creating infographic learning media through Canva for Education

Abstract

The quality of teaching in elementary schools is a crucial factor that influences the early development of students. Training and mentoring for elementary school teachers are expected to strengthen teacher capacity in terms of mapping learning outcomes, learning objectives, and learning objective flows. Community service activities are carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. The stages of activities that will be carried out by the community service program team are as follows: (1) giving an initial test (pre-test); (2) implementing offline community service; (3) online mentoring; (4) evaluation and reflection; and (5) giving a final test (post-test). The pre-test score with 20 participants obtained an average of 51.75, while the post-test score obtained an average of 90, so that the N-Gain score was 0.79. This value represents an interpretation of a high improvement category. Overall, this community service activity was able to improve the knowledge and understanding of elementary school teachers in Prabumulih City in mapping CP, TP, and ATP in accordance with the independent curriculum.

Abstract

The curriculum continues to change, and until now Indonesia has been implementing the curriculum.The teacher's ability to implement the curriculum will be a benchmark for his success in implementing the current curriculum. Literacy culture is still a hot topic to discuss. Unfortunately, in Indonesia, the culture of literacy is still low and has not yet become a social culture. To be able to keep up with the times, students must have basic abilities, namely literacy and numeracy. Literacy and numeracy learning in elementary schools must be carried out through innovative learning activities so that it can increase students' interest in learning, as well as develop elementary school students' literacy and numeracy skills. Based on the results of a preliminary study by the Community Service team in Lahat Regency through the results of initial interviews with the education office and several elementary school teachers, information was obtained that teachers were not yet skilled in developing teaching modules related to literacy and numeracy for elementary school students. In connection with this problem, it is necessary to provide an alternative solution, one of which is training related to literacy and numeracy-based module design. After participating in the training, it is hoped that elementary school teachers in Lahat Regency can easily develop literacy and numeracy-based teaching modules so that the quality of learning in the classroom becomes higher, which will have an impact on student learning outcomes. The method used in this community service is counseling and guidance, which is carried out online and offline. In the results of the pretest before being given assistance, participants got an average score of 41, and after being given assistance, the post-test score of participants got an average score of 70.7. Assistance in the development of literacy and numeracy-based teaching modules for elementary school teachers in Lahat district went smoothly, as demonstrated by the teachers' success in designing appropriate teaching modules, and there was an increase in the pretest and post-test scores that had been given.

Abstract

The implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Elementary Schools faces several problems, which require deeper analysis for effective solutions. Many teachers do not understand the concept of ESD, so that in classroom learning the concept of ESD is not integrated and the minimal use of media or the environment as a learning resource which hinders the effective implementation of ESD in schools and limits students' awareness of the importance of sustainability. This study aims to analyze the implementation of ESD-oriented learning at SD Negeri 149 Palembang in 2024 using a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation and teacher interviews. The findings show that the school has carried out several activities that support the concept of sustainability such as carrying out mutual assistance activities, class pickets to maintain environmental cleanliness and carrying out market day activities on production and financial management. Also 50% of teachers understand the concept of ESD, but only 33.4% have succeeded in implementing it in learning. The main obstacles faced are the lack of information and teacher training related to the implementation of ESD-oriented learning and the curriculum that has not explicitly brought up the term ESD in learning outcomes. Although ESD has been implemented in several school activities, its implementation in learning at SD Negeri 149 Palembang still needs to be improved, especially in terms of strengthening teacher understanding, using ESD-based media, and integrating social and environmental issues system thinking in learning and curriculum. It is hoped that this study can provide recommendations to improve the implementation of ESD in elementary schools and form a generation that is more aware of the importance of sustainability.

Abstract

Background: Setelah pandemi Covid-19, kebijakan kurikulum disesuaikan dengan kondisi saat itu, salah satunya melalui penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka. Kurikulum ini menekankan pembelajaran yang lebih mendalam dan fleksibel, serta memberi kebebasan kepada guru untuk menyesuaikan metode belajar dengan kebutuhan siswa. Dalam pelaksanaannya, digunakan penilaian diagnostik kognitif dan non-kognitif. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mendampingi 24 guru SD di Kota Prabumulih dalam mengembangkan instrumen diagnostik untuk mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Metode: pada kegiatan pengabdian memberikan pelatihan berupa pendampingan pengembangan instrumen diagnostik dengan luring dan daring. Pengumpulan data dengan pemberian pretest dan post tes serta nilai N-gain. Hasil: kegiatan pengabdian pendampingan pemgembangan instrumen diagnostik memberikan dampak yang positif bagi guru SD di Kota Prabumulih. Jika dilihat ketika pretest nilai masih kecil, namun berbeda halnya setelah diberikan pelatihan pendampingan hasil posttest sebesar 81,67 meningkat dari pretets sebesar 36.67. Data diperkuat dengan data N-Gain score sebesar 0,70 terkategori “Tinggi”. Kesimpulan: Guru SD di Kota Prabumulih memahami bagaimana cara mengembangkan instrumen diagnostik baik kognitif maupun non kognitif.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of digital media use on the development of ecoliteracy of elementary school students. Digital media offers an interactive and interesting method way to deliver ecological concepts, that make students easy to understand the relationship between living things and the environment. This study used quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were fifth grade elementary school students in North Indralaya City, Indonesia. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests consisting of pretest and posttest, each consisting of 10 questions to measure students' abilities before and after treatment. The results of this study showed that the average pretest score was 44.28 and 80 in post-test, it was found that 17 students achieved the Minimum Completion Criteria after treatment. Hypothesis testing using the Paired Sample T-Test showed a significance of 0.000, which means there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. This study concludes that the use of digital media has a positive effect on the development of students' ecoliteracy, which can help them understand ecological concepts and increase environmental awareness

Abstract

This study aims to identify the needs in the development of ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) oriented E-LKPD (Electronic Learner Worksheet) to improve environmental literacy of grade VI elementary school students. The method used is descriptive qualitative as part of the 4D development model, focusing on the Define stage. Data were obtained through observations and interviews. Observations were conducted in class VI of SDN 25 Indralaya with 31 students, consisting of 21 boys and 10 girls. An interview was conducted with one sixth-grade teacher. The observation results showed limited technology facilities, such as projectors that were not optimal, as well as the lack of interactive learning media relevant to the concept of ESD. Interviews revealed that students were more enthusiastic about interesting and interactive media, while teachers indicated the need for learning media that support environmental literacy and active student involvement. The conclusion shows the need for ESD-oriented E-LKPD to increase student engagement and instill sustainability values. This media is expected to be an effective solution in supporting students' environmental literacy and ESD-based learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi dampak Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi terhadap pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran IPAS di kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasy Eksperiment dengan desain Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan sampel penelitian yaitu kelas IVA dan IVC SD Negeri 11 Indralaya, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis Non Parametrik dengan Uji Mann-Whitney U dan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap pemahaman siswa, dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,021 (sig. < 0,05). Oleh karena itu, hipotesis awal (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima. Dengan demikian, Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada pembelajaran IPAS di kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Abstract

Stunting is a serious issue that affects early childhood development and demands educators' attention in providing appropriate preventive education. Ironically, the limited availability of effective educational media for stunting prevention hinders the learning process. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of an educational video based on movement and song activities as a preventive effort against stunting in early childhood. This research employed a research and development (R&D) design involving 28 children as subjects. Data were collected through observation and structured interviews, and analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The findings indicate that the developed educational video effectively conveys health messages in an engaging and child-friendly manner. The content covers healthy living habits, nutritious food consumption, and regular sleep patterns, all demonstrated through songs and movements. Both children and teachers showed high enthusiasm after using the media consistently for two weeks. The study concludes that movement and song based educational videos are appropriate as a medium for stunting prevention education in early childhood. The implications of this study highlight the importance of developing creative, enjoyable, and behavior-oriented learning media to foster healthy habits from an early age. Further development is recommended to ensure the sustainability and broader applicability of this media in various educational contexts.
