Abstract

This research aims to explore local language revitalization strategies as a pathway to children's participation within the Child-Friendly Village framework from a non-formal education perspective. Using a qualitative approach with the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method, this research involved 17 participants consisting of volunteers, community leaders, and parents, with data collection through focus group discussions, participatory mapping, and observation. The research results show that the local language revitalization strategy is implemented through participatory learning, the use of local languages in social spaces such as mosques and community activity centers, and children's activities based on outbound activities. As a result of this strategy, social identity is strengthened, communication accessibility is increased, and children's involvement in village decision-making is encouraged. However, challenges such as language shift, social stigma, and media limitations persist. In effect, this research confirms that integrating local language revitalization into non-formal education practices and village policies can be an important means of strengthening children's participation while maintaining the sustainability of local culture.

Abstract

The objective is to provide knowledge for pure mathematics and mathematics education students to understand quantified statements so that they can easily comprehend the meaning of mathematical propositions and facilitate their proof. The method used in this research is a literature review by collecting various sources such as books or scientific writings related to the logic used to understand mathematics, specifically related to quantifiers, both universal and existential quantifiers. When mathematics and mathematics education students understand the quantified statement ∀x[Px], what they do is take any (cannot choose specific) x, and it must be proven that x satisfies property P. Then, to understand the quantified statement ∃x[Px], what is done is to choose (at least one) x, and it must be proven that x satisfies property P. When mathematics and mathematics education students understand the multi-quantifier statement ∀x∃y[P(x,y)], what is done is to take any (cannot choose specific) x, then find (at least one) y (depending on x), and x, y must satisfy property P. Then, to understand the multi-quantifier statement ∃y ∀x[P(x,y)] or ∃y [P(x,y)∀x], what is done is to choose y (independent of x) and it must be proven that y satisfies property P along with all x.

Abstract

Educational disparities persist among pre-prosperous communities in Indonesia, with 2.54 million adolescents lacking formal education access. This study evaluates philanthropy-based educational services at PKBM Binar to assess their effectiveness in enhancing educational access, quality, and program sustainability. Employing Stufflebeam's CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model with a convergent mixed-methods design, data were collected from 68 participants across five stakeholder groups through questionnaires (Cronbach's α: 0.78-0.92), semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis over three months (September-November 2024). Quantitative findings revealed consistently high stakeholder satisfaction across all CIPP dimensions (mean scores: 4.50-4.68/5.0). Qualitative data confirmed program effectiveness in providing accessible, quality education while maintaining sustainability through volunteer educators, donor support, and collaborative governance. Unexpected findings included spontaneous peer mentoring systems and alumni community leadership emergence, suggesting multiplier effects beyond immediate beneficiaries. Results validate philanthropic education's viability in addressing educational inequities. The program successfully operationalizes giving, serving, and associating principles, though challenges in volunteer professional development, post-graduation support, and geographical outreach require strategic attention. Findings extend CIPP model applications while providing actionable insights for similar initiatives.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate ethnomathematics into numeracy instruction in non-formal education settings and to test the effectiveness of its application in improving the numeracy skills of elementary school-aged children through non-formal education, with the goal of creating contextual and meaningful learning experiences. The study was conducted in Sukodono Village, Pacitan, which possesses a wealth of contextual cultural practices that serve as a resource for numeracy learning. The methods used were a mixed-methods study with an ethnographic approach to explore cultural practices, as well as a one-group pretest–posttest pre-experimental design to test improvements in numeracy skills. The research subjects consisted of cultural experts, teachers, elementary school-aged children, and parents, with a sample size of 16 students selected using purposive sampling. Quantitative data were analyzed using a paired samples t-test and N-Gain, while qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The research findings indicate that various local cultural practices contain mathematical concepts relevant to numeracy learning, such as geometry, measurement, patterns, and comparisons, which were identified in the contexts of agate stones, the Ceprotan traditional ceremony, and Rontek art. The findings suggest a trend toward improved student numeracy skills, as evidenced by moderate N-Gain scores and significant differences in paired t-test results. These findings confirm that the integration of ethnomathematics into numeracy learning not only strengthens contextual conceptual understanding but also serves as a relevant and meaningful alternative learning strategy, particularly within non-formal education pathways rooted in local culture.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize a corpus of publications on knowledge management, higher education, and innovation through bibliometric analysis to understand research trends, outcomes, and impacts in these fields. The method employed is a quantitative analysis of bibliographic data sourced from the Scopus.com database for the period from 2013 to 2022. A search using the keywords “knowledge management,” “higher education,” and ‘innovation’ yielded a total of 196 documents. The results indicate that publications peaked in 2019 but declined during the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2022. The subject of “computer science” dominated contributions to innovation through knowledge management. Network analysis successfully identified four main research clusters covering the elements of e-learning, educational leadership, management information systems, and human resource management. The main conclusion of this study is that research on the application of knowledge management processes to create innovation in the field of education is still rarely conducted in Scopus-indexed articles, thus opening up significant opportunities for researchers to explore this topic in the future.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic in various countries has had an impact on changes in the education system. The implementation of learning has changed from classroom to online learning. The implementation of online learning certainly affects the learning interest of students. This study was conducted to determine student interest in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The subjects in this study were students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at a private university in Yogyakarta as many as 72 students who were selected using the simple random sampling method. The data in this study were collected through Google Form questionnaire. The questionnaire contains 15 items of multiple choice and each item contains “why” question to obtain in-depth data about the answers given by respondents. The data of questionnaire analyzed descriptive qualitatively. The results indicated that students' interest in online learning needed to be insreased. It can be seen from students’ responses to the questionnaire that only 15.3% of students gave a positive response to online learning and 32% to online exams. In general, students prefer classroom learning compared to online learning in terms of student attendance, interaction of lecturer-students, and technical in learning. Online learning tends to reduce student interest in attending lectures. Limitations of internet access, lecturer delivery methods and the amount of workloads are factors causing the decline in student interest. By knowing students' interest in learning and the factors that cause low students’ interest in learning, lecturers can improve the quality of learning to increase student interest in online learning.

Abstract

This study evaluates the performance of vocational education policy at SMK Maharati, a vocational high school located in a disadvantaged (3T: frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped) region of Indonesia, using the Context–Input–Process–Product (CIPP) evaluation model. Employing an evaluative mixed-methods approach, the study analyzes secondary data from four institutional stakeholder satisfaction reports involving educators and educational staff, students, parents, and industry partners (IDUKA) during the 2024/2025 academic year. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-sample t-tests, correlation, and regression analyses, while qualitative data were examined through thematic content analysis. The findings reveal a clear dichotomy between external and internal stakeholder satisfaction. Parents, students, and industry partners reported consistently high satisfaction, particularly regarding student character, work ethic, and industry-relevant competencies. In contrast, educators and staff showed only moderate satisfaction, with compensation and workload emerging as the primary sources of dissatisfaction. Statistical analysis confirms a significant negative relationship between perceived workload and salary satisfaction, indicating structural weaknesses in human resource management. The study concludes that vocational education policy at SMK Maharati is externally effective yet internally fragile, relying heavily on educator goodwill rather than sustainable institutional systems. Integrated reforms addressing human resource management, workload governance, and internal coordination are essential to ensure long-term sustainability of vocational education quality in disadvantaged regions.
