Abstract

Community service activities in Barangka Village, Kapontori District, Buton Regency aim to improve the skills of farmer groups in processing purple sweet potatoes into value-added food products, namely jam and ice cream. The training, which was attended by 25 participants, was carried out to provide knowledge about the nutritional benefits of purple sweet potatoes, as well as skills in making processed products with economic value. During the activity, participants were taught the process of making purple sweet potato jam and ice cream, from processing raw materials to marketing techniques. The evaluation results showed that 98% of participants succeeded in processing purple sweet potatoes into cendol, and 96% of participants succeeded in making ice cream from the same ingredients. As many as 100% of participants said they liked both products, which shows a high level of satisfaction with this training. This training not only improves the participants' technical skills, but also encourages an entrepreneurial mind-set among farmers, so that they are able to create innovative products that can be produced

Abstract

This study aims to analyze (1) the business profile of layer breed chicken farm in Langngottong Tajuddin Farm, Baula District, Kolaka Regency, (2) analyze the income of layer breed chicken farm in Langngottong Tajuddin Farm, Baula District, Kolaka Regency and (3) determine the feasibility of Langngottong Tajuddin Farm layer breed chicken farm based on R/C and B/C analysis. The location of this research was Langngottong Tajuddin Farm, Baula District, Kolaka Regency. Purposive sampling was used to select the location. Data collection is done by observation, conducting interviews and documentation. The data sources used are primary and secondary data. The analysis method used is income analysis, R/C ratio analysis and B/C ratio analysis. The results showed that the income obtained by Langngottong Tajuddin Farm's livestock business amounted to Rp743,819,333 per period. R/C Ratio value of 1.07 or > 1, then the business is feasible to run. While the B / C Ratio value is 0.07 or> 0, then the business is feasible to run.

Abstract

Good Farming Practice (GFP) merupakan pedoman budidaya ternak yang baik agar performa produksi ternak optimal dan penyebaran penyakit dapat dikurangi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi penerapan GFP pada aspek kesehatan dan biosekuriti di peternakan ayam broiler di Kecamatan Abeli, Nambo dan Poasia Kota Kendari. Lokasi penelitian ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Data yang diperoleh ditabulasi dan dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lokasi peternakan ayam broiler meliputi jarak peternakan dengan tempat pemotongan ayam serta ancaman secara fisik, kimia dan biologi sangat sesuai dengan standar GFP. Akan tetapi jarak peternakan dengan pemukiman penduduk berada pada kategori cukup sesuai di Kecamatan Abeli, sangat sesuai di Kecamatan Nambo dan tidak sesuai di Kecamatan Poasia.Penerapan biosekuriti meliputi: biosekuriti pada unggas sakit, unggas mati, pengendalian lalu lintas ternak dan masa istirahat kandang belum sesuai dengan standar GFP sedangkan sanitasi kandang, kebersihan kandang, kebersihan peralatan dan pergantian litter sudah sangat sesuai dengan standar GFP. Tindakan pengendalian penyakit meliputi: vaksinasi, pemberian vitamin dan obat-obatan serta feed additive belum memenuhi standar GFP. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah lokasi peternakan ayam broiler secara umum sudah sesuai dengan GFP. Akan tetapi, penerapan biosekuriti dan pengendalian penyakit pada ayam broiler belum sesuai dengan GFP. ABSTRACT Good Farming Practice (GFP) is a guideline for good livestock farming so that livestock production performance is optimal and the spread of disease can be reduced. This study aims to evaluate the application of GFP on health and biosecurity aspects in broiler chicken farms in Abeli, Nambo and Poasia Districts, Kendari City. The location of the study was determined by purposive sampling. The data obtained were tabulated and analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed that the location of broiler chicken farms including the distance of the farm to the chicken slaughterhouse and physical, chemical and biological threats were very much in accordance with GFP standards. However, the distance of the farm to residential areas was in the category of quite appropriate in Abeli ​​District, very appropriate in Nambo District and not appropriate in Poasia District. The application of biosecurity includes: biosecurity on sick poultry, dead poultry, livestock traffic control and cage rest periods have not been in accordance with GFP standards while cage sanitation, cage cleanliness, equipment cleanliness and litter changes have been very much in accordance with GFP standards. Disease control measures include: vaccination, provision of vitamins and medicines and feed additives have not met GFP standards. The conclusion of the study is that the location of broiler chicken farms in general is in accordance with GFP. However, the implementation of biosecurity and disease control in broiler chickens is not in accordance with GFP.

Abstract

Community service activities carried out by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry integrated with the Thematic KKN program from the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Halu Oleo University in 2024 were carried out in Soropia village, Soropia sub-district, Konawe district. Introducing post-harvest livestock meat processing techniques into chicken meatballs to the Soropia village community. This is intended to increase community creativity in processing food ingredients and become a source of income. Community service activities in Soropia village were carried out in two stages. The first stage is a village community meeting regarding the delivery of work programs. Furthermore, the second stage is the demonstration stage of making meatballs. Meatball processing in principle consists of four stages, namely, crushing, grinding meat, making dough, molding meatballs and cooking and packaging. The output achieved in this activity is an increase in the insight and knowledge of the Soropia village community regarding post-harvest livestock processing.

Abstract

Community service activities integrated with KKN-THEMATIC carried out by the UHO Faculty of Animal Husbandry Lecturer Team took place in Soropia Village, Soropia District, Konawe Regency. Compost is an organic fertilizer produced through the process of decomposition of organic materials, especially animal waste, by active microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. The purpose of this service is to provide training and technology transfer in making compost. The methods used include delivering materials and demonstrations. In this activity, training in making compost was carried out by utilizing cow dung which is widely available around the Soropia Village settlement, which is then mixed with super decomposer EM4, rice husks, granulated sugar, and water. Through this training, the community is given knowledge about the use of waste from agriculture and livestock to be processed into useful products, especially in the fields of livestock and organic farming which are currently developing in Soropia Village. The farmers showed high enthusiasm during this activity and appreciated the service carried out, with the hope that similar activities can be continued in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the technical aspects of the health and welfare of goats that are intensively raised in Kendari City. The research method used is the survey method. The determination of the research location was carried out by purposive sampling, then in each sub-district the determination of respondents was carried out using the snowball sampling method. The data was analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that disease prevention measures and the provision of deworming drugs in Abeli, Nambo and Poasia Sub-districts were in the bad category while disease treatment in Abeli Sub-district was in the good category and in Nambo and Poasia Sub-districts was in the fairly good category. In terms of animal welfare, in general it was in the fairly good category in Abeli, Nambo and Poasia Sub-districts. Breeders need to be given training and socialization to breeders about the importance of aspects of animal health and welfare in increasing livestock productivity. The conclusion of the study is that the technical aspects of the health and welfare of goats that are intensively raised are in the fairly good category so they need improvement

Abstract

Napalakura Village is a village that is famous for its processed fish products, such as shredded fish, fish sauce, and frozen fishery products. These products have high selling power and have the potential to be marketed outside the island of Muna. However, most of the food products produced in Napalakura Village and its surroundings are still not halal certified. For this reason, technical guidance on the product process and halal certification is carried out with the aim that these products are guaranteed halal and do not experience obstacles to be marketed. This training is carried out with a series of activities consisting of (a) counseling on halal materials and production processes; (b) assistance in the process of making halal certificates. The results of this training are a) increasing knowledge about halal materials and production processes; b) the food products produced are certified. The results of this training evaluation show that there has been an increase in knowledge and the issuance of halal certificates from technical guidance participants
