Abstract

Safety culture in aviation training is fundamentally shaped by the interpersonal and instructional behaviors of flight instructors. Instructors not only deliver technical content but also model risk awareness, communication norms, and emotional discipline that shape how student pilots internalize safety values. This literature-based analysis focuses on flight training practices at API Banyuwangi and identifies three core mechanisms that drive safety culture development: instructor competence, leadership style, and institutional reinforcement. Competent instructors who demonstrate reflective pedagogy and consistent behavioral modeling are shown to foster higher levels of psychological safety and long-term risk accountability among trainees. Moreover, institutions that integrate safety objectives across curricula, performance evaluations, and infrastructure further amplify these effects. The synthesis highlights that effective safety education emerges from the convergence of individual instructional capacity and organizational alignment. Embedding safety as a shared ethos rather than a procedural obligation requires intentional design at both the pedagogical and institutional levels.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of the avgas-ethanol fuel mixture on the fuel spray temperature. The research was carried out using a pressurized tube which was sprayed into the mock up which was assumed to be an aircraft combustion chamber with a pressure of 2 bar and a distance of 7,73 cm which would later be sprayed using pure avgas, a mixture of avgas and ethanol namely A80E20 and A60E40 then added with a temperature sensor at the end nozzle, center of jet, and impact wall. The spray temperature can result in incomplete combustion and result in higher exhaust emissions and also damage to the engine if it does not match the temperature capacity of the combustion chamber walls. The spray temperature results for the A60E40 fuel mixture are the lowest temperature, namely 25o-18.2oC and knowing that the more fuel is mixed, the lower the temperature of the fuel.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of international private air law to improve aviation safety, with a case study of the 2018 LION Air JT 610 aircraft accident. This study presents an overview of international private air law norms as a reference for international aviation sources of national air law and the extent to which the application and enforcement of the law can help prevent future aircraft accidents. The research method involves the analysis of official documents, international regulations, and official reports of aircraft accident investigation results. The results showed that although the aircraft accident occurred in Indonesia (domestic), the families of the victims received direct compensation from the mediation and charity results of Boeing. This study provides recommendations from the side of responsibility of airline companies, in providing compensation to victims so that new requirements are not added that will later burden victims or their families. At the same time, from the safety aspect, support from all parties is needed from regulators, operators, and stakeholders to follow up and take action and report progress on safety recommendations from investigations so that similar accidents do not occur with the same causes in the future.

Abstract

A Flight Plan is an essential element for achieving efficiency. Prior to operating a flight, a Flight Plan must be prepared. The flight operations officers (FOOs) utilize Airbus's NavBlue application to create a systematic Flight Plan. They can also manually generate a Flight Plan using the FCOM (Flight Crew Operating Manual) guidebook. This research focuses on the differences in fuel planning between the systematic and manual methods of Flight Plan creation, as there are variations between the two approaches. Qualitative methodology is used to gather and analyze secondary data, including both manual and systematic Flight Plans, weather and environmental data, as well as aircraft technical documents and fuel tank capacities. The anticipated outcome of this research is to provide valuable insights for the aviation industry in enhancing operational efficiency.

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of marketing strategies under the Low Cost Carrier model on the competitiveness of PT Lion Mentari Airlines, one of Indonesia’s leading budget airlines. As air travel becomes increasingly accessible, LCCs have emerged as key players in providing affordable and efficient transportation. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach to examine how four marketing variables pricing strategy, route accessibility, service simplification, and promotion strategy contribute to Lion Air’s competitive positioning in the domestic aviation industry. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving marketing and operational personnel. The findings indicate that dynamic pricing, regional route expansion, simplified in flight services, and digital promotions collectively strengthen brand visibility, customer loyalty, and operational efficiency. These strategies allow Lion Air to serve broader market segments while maintaining profitability in a highly competitive environment. The study concludes that the integration of cost efficient marketing approaches under the LCC framework significantly enhances organizational competitiveness and sustainability. Implications of this study highlight the importance of strategic alignment between service design and market expectations in maintaining a resilient LCC business model.
