Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the application of social entrepreneurship; this will be one solution to revive the country's economy, especially the business sector, which has had a huge impact due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of informants in this study was 10 mothers who received assistance from the Family Hope Program (PKH). The data in this study were obtained from the results of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study describe the existence of social entrepreneurs that were carried out on PKH beneficiary mothers who have given positive results to revive business groups in Indonesia which have an impact on COVID-19, especially which will contribute to the surrounding community for transformation by seeing business opportunities carried out with a social spirit in this era of COVID-19. Social entrepreneurs who are carried out through mentoring have opened new businesses in the economy, which will add to the heterogeneity of entrepreneurs in Indonesia

Abstract

This article was written with the aim of the implementation of gender mainstreaming is an important government program, this study aims to examine how the implementation of gender mainstreaming policies (PUG) in education programs. The problem is focused on the implementation of gender mainstreaming policies in education programs by the Education and Culture Office of Buru Regency because the initial data encountered in the implementation of gender mainstreaming is still limited to socialization and discourse but has not progressed to policy implementation. This research is a qualitative research, the source of data is obtained from purposively selected informants such as the Head of Service, Head of Division at the Education and Culture Office of Buru Regency, and the Head of SMP 9 Buru, and SMK 7 Buru who are considered to have knowledge that is in accordance with the research objectives. Data collection techniques using interviews and documentation. Analysis of the data using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique was carried out by source triangulation and technical triangulation. This study concludes that the District Education Office of Buru has not yet made or initiated legal regulations that support gender mainstreaming. On the other hand, the education office, which should be an institution that carries out mandatory affairs in the field of education, has not fully implemented or implemented gender-based policies so that it will affect directly related institutions or institutions such as schools and other supporting institutions in the education sector.

Abstract

Parents are the main person in charge of their children's education. Wherever the child undergoes education, both formal, informal and non-formal institutions parents still play a role in determining the future of their children's education. Education outside the family, not in the sense of releasing parental responsibility in children's education, but it is carried out by parents solely because of the limitations of knowledge owned by parents, because the nature of science that continues to develop following the development of the Times, while parents have limitations. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of educated and uneducated mothers on the achievement of English language learning in an Indonesian rural junior high school. Data analysis in this study is qualitative based on the use of complete and in-depth information in interpreting data about variables, is non-quantitative and is intended to conduct in-depth exploration and not expand on phenomena. The method used is by interviewing, observation and documentation methods. The findings in this study, namely the role of parents in determining students' learning achievement in school was very large. Parents who did not pay attention to their child's education, for example they were indifferent to their child's learning process, do not pay attention at all to the interests and needs of their children in learning, do not manage their study time, do not provide or complete learning tools, do not want to know how the progress of learning, the difficulties experienced by the child in learning and others can cause children to lack or even not succeed in learning. Conversely, parents who always paid attention to their children, especially attention to their learning activities at home, made children more active and more excited in learning because the child knows that not only himself who wants to move forward, but his parents also have the same desire. So that the learning results or learning achievements achieved by students become better.

Abstract

Background: Novels  are  book-length  fictional  prose  narratives,  usually  representing characters and actions with some degree of realism. Because of the main character in Linda Howard’s Novel Cover Night, it is important to study Purpose: to find out and describe the psychology of the main character in the novel Cover of Night by Linda Howard so that it helps obtain information and knowledge about the linguistic psychology of the main character, as well as developing literature. Studies related to character building. Method: This study uses the library method. The researcher will describe the main character of the novel. Namely Linda Howard’s novel “Cover of Night” as the primary data source. The other is about the characters in the novel. Researchers use a psychological approach to analyze the novel. Results and Discussion: The results of this study are that the main characters, Cate Nightingale and Calvin Harris, in this novel are portrayed positively as good characters, while Cate Nightingale is a loyal woman. She had no relationship with other men after her husband’s death. Her love for her husband made her blind and never attracted to other men. Cate is also a hardworking woman. He has to work hard to earn money to raise his children, so Calvin falls in love with Cate. Calvin Harris is a strong and mighty man with such a significant character that he makes an impression on one’s life. Conclusions and Implications: This research provides positive inspiration about Calvin’s personality as a character who has a heroic nature. This novel helps obtain information about the linguistic psychology of the main character, who is always brave in protecting someone he loves, even though he has to risk his life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the text of the online hoax news 'Consumption of Yellow Pumpkin Brings Benefits to Cure Covid-19' on Indonesian social media. The analysis in this study consists of an analysis of the form and meaning of texts that are believed to contain hoax information. In addition, this research also contains information about the impact that hoaxes can have. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, which is critical, with data collection techniques in the form of documentation techniques, notes, and literature study. This study's data are news texts believed to contain false information. Data analysis techniques in this study consisted of data identification, classification, data analysis, and the conclusion of data analysis results. The study results show that the text's structure consists of contrast discourse strategies, exaggeration, and enumeration and climaxes with linguistic markers in the form of words and sentences. The meaning found is to influence and convince the reader. Apart from that, the online news texts analyzed also show the characteristics of hoax texts because there are unclear characteristics of news sources, and there are suggestions for disseminating this information. Based on the literature study, information was also found that until now, there has been no research on specific foods that can help cure Covid-19. Therefore it can be concluded the information in the news text 'Consumption of Yellow Pumpkin Brings Benefits to Cure Covid-19', which is analyzed, contains hoax information.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjalin silaturahmi antara kepala desa dengan badan permusyawaratan desa di Ubung Kabupaten Buru. Sedangkan masalah penelitian difokuskan pada kerjasama antara kepala desa dan badan permusyawaratan desa dalam penanggulangan penyebaran Covid-19 di Ubung. Penelitian ini mengambil pendekatan kualitatif, menggunakan sampel acak dari dua puluh informan. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Ubung, dengan informan antara lain perangkat desa, anggota BPD, perwakilan tokoh masyarakat, tokoh adat, tokoh agama, dan perwakilan masyarakat dengan kompetensi yang relevan dengan tujuan penelitian. Melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam, studi ini mengumpulkan data tentang hubungan kemitraan tersebut. Analisis data kualitatif digunakan mengikuti konsep Miles, Huberman, dan Spradley. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa desa sangat tanggap dalam merencanakan dan melaksanakan penanganan Covid-19, sehingga memudahkan keterlibatan masyarakat. Selain itu, pihak desa menyesuaikan dengan kondisi terkini untuk melakukan pengendalian Covid-19, khususnya dengan melakukan analisis dan identifikasi untuk menguraikan program kegiatan yang direncanakan bekerja sama dengan Badan Permusyawaratan Desa. Pemerintah desa lebih mengutamakan pelaksanaan sektor pembangunan dan penyadaran masyarakat dalam pembagian tugas BPD, sedangkan pemerintah desa lebih fokus pada perencanaan segmentasi lapangan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah bentuk gaya bahasa teks hoaks Covid-19 di media sosial Indonesia. Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis gaya bahasa yang membangun konstruksi teks hoaks Covid-19 di media sosial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kata dan kalimat yang menunjukkan gaya bahasa pada teks hoaks Covid-19. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah laporan isu hoaks Covid-19 bulan januari tahun 2020 yang dirilis oleh Kominfo. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi. Data yang telah terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis berdasarkan teori gaya bahasa untuk mengatahui bentuk teks hoaks Covid-19 di media sosial Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berdasarkan pilihan kata, teks hoaks Covid-19 dibentuk oleh gaya bahasa percakapan, gaya bahasa resmi, dan gaya bahasa tidak resmi. Berdasarkan gaya bahasa langsung tidaknya makna, gaya bahasa yang digunakan dalam teks hoaks Covid-19 adalah gaya bahasa polisidenton, asidenton, alegori, dan tautologi. Adapun makna yang terdapat dalam teks hoaks Covid-19 terdiri atas makna; untuk memengaruhi atau meyakinkan pembaca, untuk memberi informasi, dan untuk menciptakan perasaan hati tertentu. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa konstruksi teks hoaks Covid-19 terdiri atas kata dan kalimat yang memiliki pola gaya bahasa percakapan, gaya bahasa resmi, dan gaya bahasa tidak resmi.

Abstract

Abstract. In today's information technology-integrated education, designing teaching activities for digital learning and flexibly using technology tools is the most important issue. The design of authentic materials and materials in English as a second or foreign language via Tubequizard's innovative web has a significant impact on language learners at the university level, according to this paper. Applying a mixed method, this study highlighted the undergraduate students’ perceptions of their experience with Tubequizard as ELT materials during COVID 19. By using purposive sampling, this study sample involved 71 students and five students for an online interview at the computer science faculty of Universitas Al Asyariah Mandar located at West Sulawesi, Indonesia. By conducting an online survey, the instruments of this study used a questionnaire and interviews. The findings of this study resulted in Tubequizard content being helpful to students to engage and motivate them in learning English, and their respondents strongly believe that Tubequizard is a technology innovation for lecturers in designing their teaching materials to be more interesting, easy to understand, Tubequizard materials according to the student’s needs, supported accelerate learning, suitable for all English skills, engage students in active and autonomous learning, expand students’ knowledge, meet positively students expectations in English class, encourage students to think creatively and critically, and suitable to give ideas for EFL classroom than the traditional model. Thus, it can be concluded that for teaching foreign languages, authentic and culturally appropriate materials are essential.Keywords: Digital language learning, developing materials, EFL, Technology and Tubequizard

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini difokuskan pada kegiatan pelatihan peningkatan keterampilan pembuatan produk abon ikan skala tradisional berdasarkan prosedur terstandar, serta pendampingan pelaksanaan produksi bagi kelompok nelayan Poklahsar, Desa Kaki Air, Kabupaten Buru. Proses pendampingan dan pelatihan peningkatan keterampilan akan dikhususkan pada 2 aspek yang menjadi solusi permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra yaitu Aspek Manajerial yang meliputi akses dan informasi peningkatan ketrampilan pelaksanaan produksi; dan Aspek Peningkatan Kapasitas Teknologi (Proses Produksi) yang meliputi peningkatan pemahaman produk olahan yang bermutu dengan mematuhi serangkaian peraturan dan prosedur yang tercantum dalam Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) dan Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP); serta peningkatan aspek efisiensi usaha menggunakan peralatan yang memadai. Target yang ingin dicapai melalui kegiatan ini yaitu penerapan teknologi produk olahan yang terstandar sesuai dengan GMP dan SSOP berbasis demonstrasi partisipatif mitra, serta pelatihan proses produksi dan penggunaan alat produksi.

Abstract

Multi-blended learning model was combination of four learning models. They were independent learning model, face to face learning model, small group learning model, and online learning model. This research employed descriptive qualitative method. The research sample consisted of one teacher and 36 students at SMA Negeri 2 Buru, Maluku. The collected data employed observation and interview, and then the data is presented descriptively. The result study was used to explain the challenges faced by teacher and students’ perception in implementation of Multi-Blended Learning Model in English teaching at the remote area school. The challenges faced in independent learning model were low interest and motivation to learn independently, low control and sufficient attention from parents, low support  from parents, and low economic level of students’ parents. The second challenges faced in face to face classroom learning model were limited teaching time, large number of students in one class, and different English ability in one class. Several obstacles found in small group learning model were limited teaching time, and large number of students in one class. The obstacles found in online learning model was that some students did not have internet data package, so they could not update information and new materials optimally. Students’ perception that multi-blended learning model was very helpful for students to collaborate and interact among students and teacher. Students became enthusiastic to learn independently and  understanding of teacher’s material well through video tutorial available on the teacher’s YouTube content.
